While your plan to remove flooring to run your wiring is an excellent idea, and that you will use. This as a subfloor, please remember that unless there was a finish floor installed previously, you will need to be very careful in the hallways around the staircases, the rule regarding stairs is that the rise of every step must be the same including top and bottom step rises.Even a difference of 1/16” can cause a trip hazard. The human body automatically measures the rise from the floor to the bottom step and anticipates the same to the next step. The sam3 applies to the top step and the floor above. If the top nosing of the staircase is even with the sub floor, do not try to install a finish floor over it. The maximum you could try is to gently slope 3/8” finish floorboards to meet the nosing. Additionally, unless the balusters securing the handrail is set into a tall nosing strip, you will have difficulty in fitting a finish floor to appear correct.
While most upper crust housing had 3/4’ finish floors over a 3/4” subfloor everywhere, however there were cases where fitted floor runners of wool carpeting were used in hallways. It. Is one of the reasons for having door saddles in each doorway.they provide a neat transition between areas and differences of finish floor direction. A finish strip floor is usually laid in the direction of the length of a room. Patterned flooring will usually have a border of strip flooring along all the walls.
It is due to these considerations that most electricians will open a ceiling to run wiring instead of a floor and should a client insist on opening a floor, a reputable electrician will give the advise herein contained.

Your love and respect for not only the house, but all the people that you encounter will continue to bless you for as long as you live. It is so satisfying to see progress being made to the "heartbeat and life" of the house re: the electrical. You'll be living there in no time. Looking forward to more videos!!

Seems pretty clear. 35 boxes of expensive cheese. Actually I was curious about the address and learned that #80 Warren Street was in the center of NY's "Butter and Egg" wholesale district. The area was first built up in the mid 18th century. An interesting note on the building (which now houses expensive condos) is that the first floor windows are wide, with deep windowsills. This was to make it easier for the wholesaler to slide out the cartons of dairy products through the windows and onto the trucks. So.....Where else would you go for 35 boxes of cheese? (Probably a New York based Mr. Brown though)

This is amazing. I have a suggestion, if you are wanting internet coverage throughout the house, perhaps it would be timely to run an Ethernet cable to each floor while the boards are up, just keep it a little distanced from the electrical. I find that WiFi doesn’t go very far in houses with thick walls. Pop a small switch in where the router will go and you’ll be sorted for future (just in case you want it) :)

Really smart idea to label those wires. And don't pitch those old wires--you can recycle them for their copper and get a few dollars. A handful of copper stripped from old wires brought me $8 recently--the price of copper is going up for recyclers..

From Judy in Australia 🇦🇺. The recycling from wiring is becoming a problem here in Aus. We’ve had stores that have had their wiring stolen for that purpose. Our area is currently under house development and the builders have put in their electrics only to have it stolen. They replace it and the thieves revisit to steal again! ❤️🇦🇺

I just found your videos and watching the first few almost made me cry. This is who I should have been, someone living in those times because I’m in awe of the era. The decor, the way of life, people caring for people, feeling a sense of community etc. Was life hard? Ohhh I’m sure it was horrible at times but people seemed so happy. Can’t wait to see this finished and so glad you’re keeping as much of the original stuff intact. But I have to ask, what would you estimate the total cost to renovate? If you mentioned that in previous videos I apologize, I haven’t gotten that far back yet🤣

Wires, wires, and more wires... That's what you get owning a big house 😆
God bless you! You're doing great!! Wish I was somehow near too, so I could pay a visit to help you. Unfortunately Athens is so far away 🤣

Wow Kaleb! It's not things you can see, but you have gotten so much done. You have the heat going to bring warmth to your home. You almost have the wiring done to bring light (and life) to all three of your hallways and stairs. Man, after you get the rest of the wiring and plumbing done, then you can really start concentrating on the aesthetics of your beautiful house. It is getting so exciting. I feel like I know you and I am so proud of you and all that you have achieved. I bet your mother is so very proud of you and what you are doing. It was so thoughtful of John to come help you. What an unselfish gift on his behalf. Keep up the good work, we are all cheering for you.❤️

This is awesome! I can't wait to see your next walk through of the house as you go from room to room and flick switches to turn on power.
Also hope you have planned for the extra lights in the basement, both rear rooms, enough light in the large central room and lights in the two tiny front rooms
