Excelent work 'i really like your information on the electoral process ' as a Irish person I would be interested if Fields or others have objected befor the election 'It would have been really hard in Ireland not to be noticed 'The IPP opposition to Sinn Fein were really a Landlord party kicking a fake Home rule agenda down the road for 40 years 'time had ran out 'and the new Sinn Fein were just the old IPP in Drag .The landed class who were Sheriff/ Balif / Justice of the peace ' etc were never going to allorenegades to run. Also 'Devalara excuce for not been shot was that he was a American Citizen 'Thank you for your very interesting work
Further point should you read this .many of the elected in 1918 general election were in jail or on the run 'DeVelara for instance '43 in total .Question 'Would a candidate have to present themselves on payment or to the Sheriff before election??? Very interesting Thanks again
