Reaching the "Throne of Zeus" - Stefani at Mount Olympus (+2909m)

- Woke up about 7:15 by the lack of water. Woke up kalí (our dog) and went out for a coffee. We had breakfast at the refuge of Spilios Agapitos and after then we took the path to reach Skala and then both of the peaks of Mount Olympus.
As we reached Skala I went directly to climb Mitikas, the tallest peak of Mount Olympus. Heading down from Skala proved a bit trickier than in though as I lost my path. Nevertheless when I though I had found my way to climb Mitikas I realized I was wrong.
I started to flow some yellow dots with blue inside until the started to become yellow with green. I imagined, and there I was wrong, that the sun and weather conditions had turned the blue go green. That mistake lead me to climb Stefani, another peak, a bit lower in altitude, but much steeper, dangerous and deadlier. I went up without any knowledge of this, still believing I would reach Mitikas.
After about 300m+ climbing on steep rock, was that I started to realize that Mitikas was only on my left. Nevertheless, I went up to explore. Later would I know that this was extremely dangerous and I needed equipment? The view was gorgeous and I could get some nice shots of the back of Mitikas. Just to explain it was the time of my life when I say; "Things for serious, turn off the action cam and focus". I knew the risk then. I went higher to the last peek of Stefani.
Stefani is at 2909m and is called the Throne of Zeus. Well, the name justifies it.
Going back was not easy as well but me being 62kg and well trained made that easier and much quicker than going up.
After i was down, I started seeing the blue dots again. Then I realized that they led to Mitikas. Yes. I was totally now thinking about going up to Mitikas. And there I was after 30 mins or less.
At the top of Mount Olympus. 2919m higher than the sea level you could see the whole of Greece if you had great eyes. The view was breathtaking. - Розваги

I can see why the ancient Greeks thought that the gods lived there, all those shattered stone slabs are most like from lightning strikes that constantly hit and chipped the tips of the mountain.

you cannot see it in your mortal eye, the golden temple, and the other Greek mythology Gods are right there above you, they are invisible but they are watching you and laughing at you. I suggest you camp there at night, bring your tent and cam corder, you will see them appear at around midnight.

It was scary at a point. Actually I got there by mistake. Was trying to find the highest peak of the mountain. Did not know what to expect and alone. Glad I was back in one piece. Have some more videos from there while climbing up.

A lot of misplaced rocks. May have been a true story. Maybe an earthquake destroyed it or an army of people over thru it.
I mean In the actual Myth Ares waged a huge war against Zeus in which Zeus was defeated by Ares, so maybe yeah that's why the rocks are misplaced. Or maybe it was lighting strikes that did that.

Πολύ ωραία αποτύπωση Δημήτρη. Όπως γράφεις στην περιγραφή ανέβηκες κατά λάθος και δεν είχες καθόλου εξοπλισμό. Τι πιστεύεις ότι θα χρειαζόσουν και τι μήνα πήγες. Αν και έχω ανέβει Μύτικα 3 φορές στο Στεφάνι δεν έχω πάει. Προφανώς είναι πολύ δυσκολότερο. Καλή συνέχεια
Ναι κατά λάθος , μετά πήγα στον Μύτικα στα καπάκια αλλά να πω την αλήθεια ήταν η πρώτη φορά που έτρεξα σε βουνό στην Ελλάδα και πήγα τελείως αδιάβατος
