I don't think Max is the killer. Think about when Max moved up to the overlook after Reggie had a panic attack. She met the owl again and at the dimension transition point close to the crime scene she heard a mobile phone call. Here she heard Safi answering exactly the same she said when she was with Max and Moses just before she got killed. She answered "Yes, this is Safi Llewellyn Fayyad speaking". That's a very formal way of answering a phone, just what you would do to an official or business representative you don't know. The phone was located where the killer had to be when calling Safi. This indicates the other Max couldn't have made the call because Safi knows her voice and was already with our Max when the call was made. The caller can't be anyone from Caledon either or Safi wouldn't have introduced her with her full name. There is a theory about a shapeshifter around messing up different persons at Caledon. Someone impersonated Gwen in the living world trying to frame her for selling drugs. Someone messed up Lucas's marriage in the living world by telling lies about him to his son. Reggie saw another Reggie in the dead world. I believe someone is trying to frame Max in the dead world. How could Safi make the photo of her killer when she was on the phone moving when she was shot. She didn't have time to pick-up her camera. She didn't even cry out before she was shot. According to the photo Max was staring Safi directly in the eye. It's possible the photo was planted on the phone. Who knew the phone was at the crime scene? Safi said herself it was brand new. Only Moses, Safi and Max knew she carried the phone. Still detective Alderman was searching for it. Moses said he grabbed the phone before the police arrived. Maybe Gwen found out Safi had stolen Maya's unpublished poems and therefore cancelled the publishing deal. Lucas was in conflict with Safi too. Vinh was sleeping with her. While I'm positive of the first part, as many heard the soundfiles, not sure about chloe saving max.
for me the evil max theory doesnt make sense at all. why would max turn evil? no for real, we see how she handles loss, she is not the type to rage and go on killing spree. max suffers long and silently. not good by itself but it shows that she does not evolve into a killer, even after years of pain. it would contradict her character - and so far the storytelling isnt bad. the theory of max going back in time and there can be 2 max now at the same time would be bad writing (rewriting her core abilites). i really hope this is not the case. i do like the timeline theory. i also thought there could be more (parallel) timelines, but then we only see interactions of these 2 timelines specifically, what makes we me think that these 2 timelines are something special and the only kind of their type. just a random guess: there was a moment the timeline split and since then we experience strange phenomena. a super wild guess: the split happened in the first scenes/minutes of the game. something happend that seems unimportant but actually started it all. eg the scene when the planets thingy crashes down is super sus^^ edit: oh yeah and the max chloe break up thing. in my opinion the break up is logical. dont get me wrong, i dont want this to happen either. but look at how max is handling emotional stuff. she probably never really got over what happened, or at least not fast enough. she might be stuck mentally, just like she is still with the break up. chloe on the other hand is or might be the type that got over it fast, accepted it to be the past and wanted to move forward with max. they were the total opposites and i do believe both gave their best to handle this thuogh situation. but both suffered more and more when time moved on. i dont think they broke up in a "bad" way, they both realised they just hurt each other and it would be better to let go instead of turning forever in circles without finding any solution or happiness.
i see the evil max theory as a different version of max that got stuck in bad timeline. like when she rewound to save chloes dad but everything was the complete opposite. i think its possible that version of her could also be drastically different for the 2 max's in one timeline, i think (if its even true) that it was only temporary when future max came back to kill safi because its the only way to end something catastrophic happening and then maybe we would see two of them at the end ever since they released the extended trailer and the first thing we saw was the meteor shower i immediately thought maybe thats the end game scenario, like maybe a meteor will crash onto caledon. that would be kind of a repeat of the first game imo but just a theory. especially since time travel is involved it would indefinitely impact space. for example the double moons in both games. i mean the meteors are even on the box art! so definitely could have been foreshadowing i agree. they have both been through so much together and have not really had the chance to heal on their own. of course i want them together but honestly it makes sense for them to breakup. maybe they will get back together at the end of double exposure!

*Spolier alert* actually it seems Safi is a shape shifter, as some people accessed the sound files for ch3-5. Safi seems to take revenge and Chloe will make an appearance, either clip or voice. It even seems Safi played a part in the fallout between Max and Chloe. Lately, someone people also been saying Chloe will save Max but not how she wanted. While I'm positive of the first part, as many heard the soundfiles, not sure about chloe saving max.
As long as i see a glimpse of irl chloe id be happy! 🤞
for me the evil max theory doesnt make sense at all. why would max turn evil? no for real, we see how she handles loss, she is not the type to rage and go on killing spree. max suffers long and silently. not good by itself but it shows that she does not evolve into a killer, even after years of pain. it would contradict her character - and so far the storytelling isnt bad.
the theory of max going back in time and there can be 2 max now at the same time would be bad writing (rewriting her core abilites). i really hope this is not the case.
i do like the timeline theory. i also thought there could be more (parallel) timelines, but then we only see interactions of these 2 timelines specifically, what makes we me think that these 2 timelines are something special and the only kind of their type. just a random guess: there was a moment the timeline split and since then we experience strange phenomena. a super wild guess: the split happened in the first scenes/minutes of the game. something happend that seems unimportant but actually started it all. eg the scene when the planets thingy crashes down is super sus^^
edit:
oh yeah and the max chloe break up thing. in my opinion the break up is logical. dont get me wrong, i dont want this to happen either. but look at how max is handling emotional stuff. she probably never really got over what happened, or at least not fast enough. she might be stuck mentally, just like she is still with the break up. chloe on the other hand is or might be the type that got over it fast, accepted it to be the past and wanted to move forward with max. they were the total opposites and i do believe both gave their best to handle this thuogh situation. but both suffered more and more when time moved on. i dont think they broke up in a "bad" way, they both realised they just hurt each other and it would be better to let go instead of turning forever in circles without finding any solution or happiness.
i see the evil max theory as a different version of max that got stuck in bad timeline. like when she rewound to save chloes dad but everything was the complete opposite. i think its possible that version of her could also be drastically different
for the 2 max's in one timeline, i think (if its even true) that it was only temporary when future max came back to kill safi because its the only way to end something catastrophic happening and then maybe we would see two of them at the end
ever since they released the extended trailer and the first thing we saw was the meteor shower i immediately thought maybe thats the end game scenario, like maybe a meteor will crash onto caledon. that would be kind of a repeat of the first game imo but just a theory. especially since time travel is involved it would indefinitely impact space. for example the double moons in both games. i mean the meteors are even on the box art! so definitely could have been foreshadowing
i agree. they have both been through so much together and have not really had the chance to heal on their own. of course i want them together but honestly it makes sense for them to breakup. maybe they will get back together at the end of double exposure!
how do you even know if it was safi taking the photo?
@@imminentmomentous8409 we dont! It couldve been someone else or maybe someone made a deepfake like max said!
Shapeshifter? Wouldn't parallel universe max be the obvious culprit. She propably thought she was taking out her universes safi. That safi seems to be a problematic person in general.
i think both are possible! the shapeshifter is more referencing to a possible reasoning for everybody having issues with someone who looks like them
After playing it for my third play through what if Rachel amber is the playing shape shifter imposter because maybe she didn't die in the life is strange maybe when she got hold of her powers before the storm she harness it like the game Quantum Break to cheat life by getting killed so that she can have revenge on what her father did and what Jefferson or maybe Rachel amber recarnation is where she mad at chloe and getting back at max in a different timeline or maybe is like Alan wake where safi is a super natural powers where gets trick by Rachel amber or maya Okada is the one who steals Alex chen powers to find max in a different time to steal max powers to
@@kennethejortaliza-mulato9268 i will say i love the idea of them somehow bringing rachel back and revealing she has powers
max= safi metamorph
I'm honestly concerned that Safi stole elements of Gwen's perseonal story
you know i could see that as a possibility!!
For me Moses is the Killer
@@AgataN-up8wo honestly thatd be a good plot twist! I don’t think many would expect it!!
I thought itd be moses immediately he gives an off vibe and is rude
@@sunshineottochian i think we have A LOT more to learn about him in the coming chapters
what if it's her own mom? like she's apart of abraxsis or something
What if Safi AND Moses working together against Max!
boy arent u disappointed lmao
