Bloopers are always good. Congratulations on closing in on 1 million! Yes, take a break...you definitely deserve some time off. Have a great Christmas and New Year. May 2021 not suck!
Hah! You are so funny. 2021 is part 2 of this disaster porn. Joe, go mix some burger mix, roll it like a giant salami in foil, and roast it with a selection of pumpkin, corn, potatoes, and beans and some buns, and do a nice holiday.
Hey Joe, how about a bloopers video for the end of the year? It could be pretty nice! 😃 And anyway, you're at 997k! It's pretty close! So... Stop a bit and try to have fun. 😉 Happy holidays! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Dude I'm Italian. Think about it, you are there in the United States and some dude from a little town on the other side of the planet watches you abs loves you and can't wait to see another video. Who cares about numbers? Who can say their words are listened from people this far? You can! Enjoy :)
Those coins are called "Challenge Coins" and have a long run history in the military. They're usually not too expensive to get made and really make a nice gift. After 21 years in the Air Force, I've got 60ish of them. They make stands for the too. Keep up the good work dude. It's been a rough year, you got this!
Geocaching dot com has “Geocoins” that they sell as trackable items and they are like $10, despite being completely bespoke (even odd shapes like the outline of a state or country) with unique tracking numbers on the reverse stamped in.
In the Navy we call those coins “Challenge Coins”. Every unit & Commanding Officer has official ones as a way to thank people who did well on.... something lol. There’s pretty good lore behind how Challenge Coins started and tons of people collect them. You should get one!
The History Guy did a video on challenge coins couple of months back.. I knew nothing about them until I watched that video. Interesting and on point as he nearly always is. Fits in with the coin Jo displayed as an example.
@@rabbmuhammad2900 OK would you be able to share a photo as my interest in these is piqued. These coins seem able to convey an actuality harder to convey with mere words.
You are right that it is a completely arbitrary vanity benchmark. If your inner voice is telling you to take a step back, then do it. Spend some time just with your family and decompressing. Sometimes continuously working. Can decrease our outputs. Somethings taking a break can actually increase our outputs.
You are an awesome person. Your videos help change mind from disinformation or lack of information, toward factual reality. Thank you for all your time, efforts and information. You deserve a break. We are all perfectly capable of binging prior videos. Kick your feet up and enjoy your personal time. I absolutely love your work!!!
Joe, do whatever u need to man. Ur content this yr how been absolutely amazing!! Loved the cephalopod, deadliest cults, the animal intelligence (i didn't kno goats were that smart), and the missing for 20 yrs guy. Just to name a few, but anyways.. This yrs has been rough with lockdwn, n I'd b lying if I said ur channel didn't help, not jus me but alot of viewers. Take a break, take ur time, n hopefully when u come back u will have hopefully have hit the million sub mark. Can't wait for the new yr new content. Happy holidays n merry Christmas Joe n everyone else!!!!
Joe, my Christmas list is usually something like luxury chocolate or book tokens. I know you don't get time to read, but think about the luxury of having time off AND having a good book to read! And I'm a woman, so if all else fails, luxury bath products are always good. Anything that I can spoil myself with and don't have to buy myself is good. Maybe let your thoughts go in that direction?
Frigid is an understatement. 13 inches of snow and sub freezing temps in the Northeast. Yikes! Have a great holiday, Joe. Of as an ex boss of mine used to say when I worked in food service distribution, "Have a good hilladay." Think about it, it's so true sometimes.
I like the idea of bloopers, they are funny and also, as someone who's starting a youtube channel it's encouraging to see that I'm not the only one who fucks up lines and repeat myself multiple times.
Ima go ahead and leave this before I watch it. You are awesome Joe. You make learning so much fun. Me and my daughter love watching your videos. Keep doing what you do if it's what you want. You have a lot of love in this community
My wife and I both did lasik several years ago, and (pardon the pun) have never looked back. It was so liberating to not be concerned with contacts or glasses issues anymore! Sending you well wishes with the surgery!
Thank you for your time and the work you put into your content. I will always wait for the next video. Take any time you need to decompress and do want you can to be you online.
I got PRK surgery done this summer and it was a really good investment in myself! I wish you luck with the LASIK, and I’m excited for you that you’ll not have to deal with contacts or glasses for a few more years!
Thank you for all your videos this year Joe. You are a great communicator I have enjoyed all your content through this difficult year and I look forward very much to hearing and seeing more from you in 2021. Have a great Christmas from an English fan in Germany
20/20 in 2020 warning. This is such a live changing thing to do, you will find it difficult to talk or think about anything else for a year. It is ‘that’ fantastic! Good luck, have a great break. Oh! Where sunglasses in bed to avoid the itchy eyes for the first week or so. Love
Lasik is the way to go... Waking up the day after the surgery and seeing the alarm in 20/20 is very awesome:) Unfortunately after 13 years or so I had to start wearing glasses again but hopefully surgery number two is coming soon... You definitely won't regret it Mr. Joe Scott:)
Joe! I was very near sighted, wore glasses and contacts most of my adult life. I had Lasik a couple years ago and it was THE BEST decision I ever made. Of course everyone is different, but it was a huge improvement in my quality of life (not that my QOL was bad before!). You won't regret it!
I got lasic done in 2000, going from blind like (apparently) you to 20/20. Roll forward 18 years and I'm in prescription reading glasses but so glad to have had the surgery. The _AWE_ I felt the first time I looked at a tree and could see the individual leaves... wow. Happy holidays!
Look man, I may be late to the comment pool.. But you could look and see that I've been subbed since about covid started, and I've watched all your videos. That's what I think has happened with alot of creators honestly, you were there for us during lockdown, and alot of people had nothing but youtube, and now even with the second wave people have exhausted their previous addictions and moved on. It's not personal, it's timing. Your content is great.
Your main channel has 593 videos 594 is my favorite number. There's not really anything I can do to celebrate that, I already share your videos on Facebook and Twitter, I've told everyone I know to subscribe, and I don't have money to spare for Patreon or whatever... But I just think it's really neat. No real point to this comment. Love your content! Love your work! You're one of my favorite creators on here! Good luck on that million, my dude!
I think multiple people all commented at the exact same time first all sent and posted at exactly the same time lol, you got loyal fans Joe. We all love ya, Merry Christmas.
Id love to hear your thoughts on the self identity of visual impairment post laser surgery. I feel like it’s a common issue that never gets talked about. This unconscious effort to sometimes keep ourselves from progressing in certain ways even though we strive for it consciously. I feel like weight loss fits into this category sometimes. Not knowing yourself as a thinner person can trigger some real fear even when people feel like all they want in life is to lose the weight. Or stop smoking. Or make more money. What is this and how can we all combat it better to get out of our comfort zones?
I think blooper reel would be awesome, you always balance the right amount of comedy and topic in your videos it might might be hard to just get the comedy blooper takes. But would be really fun. 👍 really love your channel.... always going strong
I understand what you mean about "microscopic vison up close". I have the same phenomenon. I really missed that wearing contacts and it was one of the reasons I went back to wearing glasses so that I could take them off when I needed to see something tiny. I hope the surgery goes well for you. Merry Christmas
Pro Tip: Get all your work done for the next two-four weeks before you get LASIK. The first week your eyes will be very sensitive to light and really everything. The second week you'll be sensitive to mostly just light but it won't be as bad. By third week you can probably go without sunglasses for a few hours at a time in normal lighting conditions. Week four you should feel fairly normal. Last pro tip but most important!! Get yourself some dark tinted & polarized sunglasses for immediately after the procedure. Your light sensitivity will be ridiculously and you'll be so thankful to have dark shades. Make sure they wrap around as well to shade light from the sides too. Think 'old people' shades. Good luck and enjoy your new vision!! Happy New year and Merry Christmas too (yes in that order!).
I was an early adopter of Lasik back in 2000. Never regretted it for a moment. I don't know if they do this anymore, but they provided me with a burned DVD close up of the surgery. That was such a quirky period of time. I rather miss it.
My cousin threw a dart into my left eye when I was about 5. My pupil is severely deformed and have had horrid vision since. I've been told many times that lasik wouldn't even help me. So, I emphasize with you completely. Merry Christmas, Joe! Get some rest! 🙂🎄
My vote for the 2020 compilation would be to create a "2020 Playlist" in youtube that EVERYONE can watch in/on one screen/tab, while we have another screen/tab open with a live stream from you providing a running comentary in the back ground. Maybe set up some sort of markers/picture in picture so that people joining in the middle can "skip to the video&time" that you are commenting on. Does two things, cool user engagement, AND you push more views to your 2020 videos. Could have like a 30-60 second "breaks" to give intros/quick answers between videos to allow the Ad-constrained to catch up to the Premium users. a 60 second break *should* only add 1ish hours to your stream. Maybe even have like a 20 minute break every X number of hours for viewers to grab snacks/stretch. Would be actually pretty cool. I would stream the 2020 playlist even if I wasn't watching it actively!
FYI, that is a challenge coin, they originated with the military, 99 Percent Invisible has a great podcast on them that I highly recommend for those unfamiliar with them. There are several companies that you can purchase custom ones from at a reasonable price. Would work great as both merch or as an easy thank you for people sending in mail or long time patrons.
Better person? Joe, you bust ass to bring us content we love, and you've got one of the best comment communities I've come across. Take a month off man, this group of folk ain't the whip-crackin' kind. We'll be right here when ya get back, eager for a refreshed Joe. Go somewhere secluded for vacation. Montana or something, enjoy the snow, do some skiing. Just you and the misses. You deserve it, and it isn't gonna hurt us.. In fact the opposite; We'd be **happy** to see you go take a breather for a month.
AirBnB a nice cottage somewhere, home away from home. Have the entire cottage/property to yourself.. just like you own it. When I'm burnt bad and need to refocus and recharge.. I find near-seclusion and nature the best way to truly relax. Minimal electronics and lots of fresh forest air.
It sounds like there's a lot of exciting stuff coming up for the channel! I'm really excited for that! And onto one million subscribers, hopefully soon!
Do what ya gotta do to recharge those batteries Joe. We will be here waiting patiently and eagerly for your next video. You are one of the 2 channels I look forward to all the time, shout out to Rhett and Link. Love ya bro and take care of yourself.
Man, take a break, you deserve it, don't overwork yourself or your team, stay healthy, I also had a kidney stone recently, it ain't easy. Relax and don't worry, the moment you get to 1M, you will have a million people telling you, you won't miss it.
Some progress is being made at corrective lenses that adapt automatically to the distance to the object being viewed (in at least one instance, by tracking the variations in pupil distances.) Glasses only, to date, but who knows in the future? Lasik is a sensible step in any case. Good luck with it.
Yeah I don't think that's cool with UA-cam'and their guns and conditions but maybe not! Anyway I agree Joe deserves to get to a million because he's probably twice as good as most of them out there for sure so I'd give him two votes. We're in the US after all at least I am. Hell if I didn't have to log on I just unsubscribe then subscribe a hundred times! Then I damn sure would get a hobby with all that time I've been logged on to the internet!
Look forward to you every week. Please take a vacay, I will survive and be back even though it sucks. Please take a mental health week or month, it will only help your creativity. Even if you don’t I won’t watch for the next month.
It's weird, I've also heard other yt creators (in a completely different area, mostly vegan subjects) saying that their views and subscriptions are slowing down. They did mention that their income per view was actually increasing so it wasn't a hit on their income but it's still concerning. Anyway, even though I love all your videos and I always want more, you definitely deserve a break and I hope you enjoy it! I'll be here when you are ready to come back
Try asking for kid drawings. Either theirs or friends kids. Those are awesome and no cost. Maybe drawings of your dogs or something. Just an idea. Or a batch of home made cookies.
When it comes to your eyes Joe, i understand what your going through. I also have, and always have had short sightedness. Now my close range vision is getting a bit sketchy as well, shall we say.... I 'm tour between having the surgery because as you said in your video on TMI you get used to seeing how you see. We've spent our whole lives seeing like this. I'm not sure if i want it to change it. I quite like this blurry surreal world i live in to be honest. Anyhoo, have a good Christmas and seasonal greetings from sunny Cyprus. x
Good move on the lasik. I went for it this September. Ended up doing prk instead, but same results. I completely understand the feeling of missing your magnifying glass vision, but for myself it was a small price to pay for not having glasses fogging up all the time with our current mask situation
Don't feel bad for not responding to physical mail. I love getting it, but there is just no way I will ever send physical mail to friends or family. I think and hope they know that, after nearly 35 years.
Work never ends, Joe. Work never ends. Entropy and whatnot. Btw, my dad is 86 and just had a new experimental cataract surgery. He literally can't stop gushing about what a wonderful decision it was. He says he hasn't seen the world properly in years.
I have been wearing hard contact lenses for about 30 years now. I put them in at 7:30am and take them out about 11:30pm and throughout the day I have normal 20:20 vision. The lenses correct a conical cornea issue in my left eye that potentially could be corrected by surgery but I am used to my lenses. In the UK I probably replace 1 a year for £60 and spend about another £25 on solutions so it is hardly expensive. However, I am now 57 and have to wear reading glasses on occasion but again no big deal to have them close by. So, all in all, I am happy to have sight correcting aids so do not see the pont in surgery yet. I am so greatful for medern medicine. However, one point in favour of surgery is that if Covid-19 continues to degrade our health care at least you will have a permanent solution.
I'm sure some day when Joe becomes the next Neil deGrasse Tyson, people will plead, "But what about those daring heroes who commented 'first' in the comments of his videos, especially the ones who weren't actually first?" Scoff at them now, but they've secured a place in the most significant annals of the history books, my friend.
You and I could only dream of being so cool as to exclaim, "First!" when there's already half a page of comments saying the same. Let your heart fill with envy over these gods among men.
I hope you are ok Joe, you said you've been out of sorts and you do look more tired than usual (probably the hard work on 11 videos). You should take a little break and not be too hard on yourself about stuff like letter writing, enjoy Christmas and I hope you do indeed get 2020 vision in 2020
Joe: "I'm going to take some time off!"
Joe: Lists all the work he's going to do on his time off.
Hey, we don't mind when you take a break. Take the next month (or two?) off.
Don't work youself to death, pace yourself.
We all love your videos.
"I can take a break any time I want."
You do know what addiction sounds like, don't you?
haha, so true
Wat
Hey Joe, how about a bloopers video for the end of the year? It could be pretty nice! 😃
And anyway, you're at 997k! It's pretty close! So... Stop a bit and try to have fun. 😉
Happy holidays! And stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

You are right that it is a completely arbitrary vanity benchmark. If your inner voice is telling you to take a step back, then do it. Spend some time just with your family and decompressing. Sometimes continuously working. Can decrease our outputs. Somethings taking a break can actually increase our outputs.
You're the best, young man... Been waitin' on this. Happy Holidays.
To hear that two of my favorite youtubers joe and issac not only know of each other but have contact makes me happy beyond words.
Yep. Me too.
I like anything w Joe.

Joe, just breath, buddy. In and out. Relax. You are a good person. We can all improve.

Man, take a break, you deserve it, don't overwork yourself or your team, stay healthy, I also had a kidney stone recently, it ain't easy. Relax and don't worry, the moment you get to 1M, you will have a million people telling you, you won't miss it.
Love you too joe. Have nice break.
Enjoy your break, you deserve it. This has been my lunch break for more than a year.
That million sub lightning round video gonna be fun
Great decision on your eye surgery. I had that done not long ago. You will discover different world. Literally.
Merry Christmas Jo. x
That is nice-card, candy and HG coin. Happy holidays.
Merry Christmas Joe.
Thanx for checking in🙂hope you & yours have a safe and wonderful holiday/New years, see you in 2021 👀😁
Hi Joe I really enjoy your videos I would love to see one on the Saturn and Jupiter alignment. Or the theory of the planet nibiru thanks Davie.o
New years binge ready. Joe dont tease us bro, ur fans are waiting and willing to bring in the new year with u
Some progress is being made at corrective lenses that adapt automatically to the distance to the object being viewed (in at least one instance, by tracking the variations in pupil distances.) Glasses only, to date, but who knows in the future? Lasik is a sensible step in any case. Good luck with it.
Please do that blooper reel video. That would be really nice.
I unsubscribed then resubscribed to help you get to the million!
I don't think that works. Nice try, tho.
You mustn't be very good at algebra....
Great math.
In all seriousness though, I enjoyed this joke.
Look forward to you every week. Please take a vacay, I will survive and be back even though it sucks. Please take a mental health week or month, it will only help your creativity. Even if you don’t I won’t watch for the next month.
A million. I remember when that sounded INSANE, especially since the first one to do it was Fred Figglehorn.
Congrats on the lasik! I got it done over the summer and it was the best money I’ve ever spent! I literally woke up the next day with 20/20 vision.
After getting PRK (like lasik, but not), first thing I noticed? I could see stuff in the shower.
I'll be here when you are ready to come back
I like to autoplay your videos during my job, but now that I know you have a podcast I can binge that ☝🏿👨🏿🦱.
Hola Joe! You are so close, I have been following you for years now, I love your channel... ánimo, casi llegas!! 😆
Have a good whatever you celebrate and hope we all have a better new year
Try asking for kid drawings. Either theirs or friends kids. Those are awesome and no cost. Maybe drawings of your dogs or something. Just an idea. Or a batch of home made cookies.
You're a good guy Joe. 🌲🌲🌲
I like the idea of a 2020 playlist
Even when you end up needing reading glasses, being able to see the room when you wake up rocks.
I love how there are like 4 people saying 'first', like it matters or anyone really cares. Ah hell... I will throw them a like.
First
Second
I'm sure some day when Joe becomes the next Neil deGrasse Tyson, people will plead, "But what about those daring heroes who commented 'first' in the comments of his videos, especially the ones who weren't actually first?" Scoff at them now, but they've secured a place in the most significant annals of the history books, my friend.
You and I could only dream of being so cool as to exclaim, "First!" when there's already half a page of comments saying the same. Let your heart fill with envy over these gods among men.

We love you. do what you need, but just don't quit.
I hope you are ok Joe, you said you've been out of sorts and you do look more tired than usual (probably the hard work on 11 videos). You should take a little break and not be too hard on yourself about stuff like letter writing, enjoy Christmas and I hope you do indeed get 2020 vision in 2020
great channel, always interesting to watch
