I was informed of SIDS during my first psychology class in highschool, and recalled how my parents told me that when I was under a year old I would sometimes stop breathing and only come back after CPR. They took me to the doctor and were informed I was healthy.
They don't know if it could have been SIDS, but I feel tragically for the parents that have lost their newborns to this occurrence. You can never know, but the best you can do is try to not blame yourself, and that's hard.

SIDS is a scary thing. I'm so glad neither my nephew nor I ever had any symptoms or anything related to it. He hasn't had his birthday yet but so far I've wanted to worry less about the possibility he might develop SIDS or even epilepsy like my sister, I wish you well, though
