This makes me very hopeful. I've been diagnosed with Afib plus I'm anemic. So my energy has been crappy, the AFI has me hitting the wall almost instantly whenever I attempt to be active. This video was extremely helpful in understanding the future procedure.
Thank you so much for posting this video.!!! I was born with a congenital heart defect (DSV). I am 52 years of age and at age 12 I felt my first atrial flutter. As years went by I felt it more and more. And developed into atrial fibrillation. Now it comes all the time as before only once every couple of years. I had a operation at age 4 for the DSV so by the time I was 4 I had an adult size heart. So I knew early on that I would most likely have heart problems as I got older. Well here we are, none of the a-fib meds are working anymore. Quinidine glutconate was the only drug that gave me relief and put my a-fib back to normal rhythm. We’ve (doc and I) talked about cardiac ablation after I had a cardio version two years ago. I am extremely happy to see that a very informational video about the procedure I’m getting ready to do is posted here. Thank you sooooo very much. It ready is a great service you’ve provided. 🥰😍
I will be getting a ablation for my SVT I could have 2 to 3 episodes a week lasting 10 to 30 minutes at a time my heart rate goes to 210 bpm which causes a lot of symptoms.
Checking this out . I will be having an ablation in March 2022. I have episodes of afib not constant afib. My afib is a nasty mess of high heart rate with a bunch of jumping around. I have tightness and a lot of pain in my chest and neck my breathing gets disrupted. It basically stops me and I have to lay down a lot of times or I'm headed to the ER because the pain is so great. Hopefully this procedure will help me get back to life.
Why don't people come back on here and tell people how there experience was!? I hope all went well! But put someone's mind at ease a little and tell them how you are doing
It’s so crazy to know what actually happened to me because I had this done to me November 2022 it was probably the best thing I’ve ever done because it cured my SVT for good
I've had SVT (Diagnosed 1 week ago after 13 episodes lasting about 20 seconds each) for 13 years and nobody would believe me. "It's just anxiety". No, it's what's causing my anxiety. I've been a nervous wreck for years because of this and I finally see the end of the tunnel. I can't afford the procedure and I'm looking for a job, but I can't wait to be rid of this for good and finally be able to work out and do things I've been too scared to do because of it.
@@ltrs1212 I know exactly how you feel because I went through the exact same thing telling me that she’s anxiety. They finally caught it once it hit the 30 minute mark.
I just had this procedure on Tuesday and everything is fine now. But man, I don’t like hearing a cardiologist saying it’s like “looking for a needle in a haystack.” That’s not comforting. How about “It’s like looking for a battleship in a bathtub”? That would be more comforting.
It's like looking for a needle in a battleship. Just had an ablation 2 days ago, and all is well. The worst part was the chest pain, and I think it was mostly airway pain from the anesthesia. Now is a very steady normal sinus rhythm.

I had a heart ablation done in 2019. I requested to be awake and watched the whole thing. some burning sensation when he found the spot and zapped it. In 2011 I had a stent put in, a non-med. I was awake for that as well. Both of the above were interesting to watch.

Dragana Dragana The procedure was much tougher than I expected. I’m ten days past the surgery, and I’m feeling much better. I haven’t had any noticeable episodes of A-fib, so I’m cautiously hopeful that it was a complete success. To be honest, I wouldn’t want to go through this surgery again.

Hello, Interesting video. I have a question if possible - I had an ablation for atypical AVNRT around 15 years ago (my letters show that it was quite a tricky procedure which took 5 hours and 'ablation of mid septal accessory pathway'. The ablation was successful and I was able to play sports again without any palpitations but recently (as I say 15 years later), I am now having some skipped heartbeats and I have had a few palpitations while exercising... I guess the ablated tissue slightly repaired itself. I want to know, based on your video, are the risks of ablation now lower than they were for me 15 years ago? I did some research myself which suggested that mid septal pathway ablation might have a slightly higher risk of accidental heart block but I want to understand with the technology today if this risk is very minimal or not? thanks
Are you vaccinated ? If Yes how do you feel after vaccine? And the skipped beats can be cauzele by a lot o factor, this not mean the AVNRT has come back

Later show other doc details. Rest my doc said its 95% safe procedure rest 5 they get to know when they are actually detecting that bad signal in heart. I am fine from heart perspective but, pain in leg from where they insert catheter. Not able to walk as of now and doctor is saying it may take another week, little bit swelling as well. They say in 1 day you should be good but, for some people it take 3-4 weeks for leg pain to go away. Irrespective what doc says, ask ur bro to rest post procedure. Good luck for your brother 👍
@@shobhitsingh6190 Also this is done in 3D and 2D mode, if you have insurance or panel, would suggest you to go with 3D only as its much safer. Prices are almost double for 3D. This video has 3D one only.

Yes, they say it does happen. I have just felt one or two PACs in 2 days, but otherwise, my heart is behaving itself. Still, it is not unusual to feel odd rhythms in the weeks following an ablation.
No they put 2 large IVs in the groin and pass the catheters up into the heart. I drove myself home about 8 hours after having mine done because I had mine done wide awake. No real discomfort.
I had mine done a few years ago, not too bad but can be a little uncomfortable. Worst part was knowing you can’t move and getting a bit anxious about it

Dude are you an idiot? the ablation procedures have a high success rate of 95% and up. If you are not a doctor and you don't know about Medical stuff please don't talk. Go and have the procedure so you can be risk free and symptom free.
I weigh the risks before getting this. Right now, I choose to stay on so-so meds (I go in and out of fib) rather than roll the dice that the operation will work. My doc says 70% chance of it working. It's a long operation - 6 hours, he says. I used to work in a doctor's office and saw patients with complications following surgery. They include sore throat and vocal cord injury from the tube down the throat, sudden hearing loss from the general anesthesia, infection, either local at the entry points or systemic from inside. Don't let doctors or friends say it's an easy operation. It has many possible complications. The ones you see on UA-cam are the successful ones. My own feeling is not to get surgery until you KNOW you truly need it because life has become really bad from the arrhythmias.
Nate to me, having 3 AFIB episodes in last 3 months, which all required visit to ER and AFIB stopped after 12 hrs of Cardizem, I’m going for RF ablation in 2 weeks to avoid taking blood thinner and flecanaide forever. I’ll take the risk and trust my Drs experience of doing thousands of RF and cyro ablations.
@@ko6128 Good luck! My surgeon says 6 hours but my internist says patients in her practice say 2 hours is typical. I need to call the surgeon and ask why he must keep me on the table for so long! Please tell me when your surgery is done how long you were anesthetized.
It’s not a surgery, it’s a procedure. It’s 2 large IVs in your groin that they pass the catheters through up into your heart. In most patients there is no anesthesia or breathing tube, just some light sedation. The procedure usually takes about 2 hours, and most of that time is due to the mapping required. I had mine done wide awake at my own request. I was never in any significant discomfort and only asked for a dose of fentanyl once because they had to do a pretty long burn to eliminate one of my problem areas. It’s not really the procedure people have difficulty tolerating, it’s the having to lay flat for 6 hours due to the groin catheters.

I have aslo svt problem, i need to this surgery. Would you please suggest me which hospital is best to do this operation?
Did you have to wear some as sort of heart monitor as well prior to ablation?
I will be getting a ablation for my SVT I could have 2 to 3 episodes a week lasting 10 to 30 minutes at a time my heart rate goes to 210 bpm which causes a lot of symptoms.

Medical science is amazing now a days

I had an ablation about a month ago and it went great. So cool to see what happened to me :)

I'm hving procedure in a couple of weeks I'm scared because the doctor I will be awake during procedure. It most be painful😢anyone please tell what it feels like😢
Is there any pain or discomfort for the patient during this procedure?
Slight because the anesthesia will not numb the groin entirely. It's more of a discomfort feeling but don't worry. I did the catheter ablation and it's not bad. It's better than a open heart surgery. Enjoy learning while they go through your heart and ablate or excite the heart.
I hope I didn't scare you more but made more relax about it. Remember the scare is all in your mind. Come with your mind clear and ready. You will be fine.

I did some research myself which suggested that mid septal pathway ablation might have a slightly higher risk of accidental heart block but I want to understand with the technology today if this risk is very minimal or not? thanks

Post procedure doc told me that abnormal HR cause tissue was quite near to my regular one and in 2D there was a chance that could have got damaged and then they will be inserting pacemaker.
Prices are almost double for 3D. This video has 3D one only.

Be cautious of this procedure many have died on the table from this. I actually have A-fib and really want this surgery but I just dont have the trust that I will come through ok.
