I've been watching you for years (started back when your channel was mostly makeup/especially foundation centered, even bought Double Gleam because of you), but the home vlogs you've been doing lately have been especially great. I feel like watching one of these completely soothes my anxiety that builds up throughout the week. I have such a big to-do list today and watching you made me not only willing, but actually enthusiastic about tackling it. Thanks for all of the effort you put into making your videos great, it really pays off. 💙

I take a lot of comfort in the pace you're taking with your home renovations! I carry a lot of guilt that my home isnt "finished" even though I know how I want it to look, but often finances and work commitments get in the way. Seeing your calm and steady approach, just working away one project at a time, is very soothing and encouraging! Also, that couch looks SO comfy, and cant wait to see your paint choices in action!
Thanks! Yes we have to pace things financially for sure, and hope to blitz things over the summer break when we aren’t working 😅😅
I’ve always heard and read that the hot water closet should not be used as storage. It is a potential fire hazard and items stored there could suffer moisture damage. Also, the water heater itself needs that space around it for proper ventilation.
We often wrap hot water cylinders in insulation here in NZ 😅 so I think they’re fine!

I 100% agree that changing the wallpaper in your bedroom would be worth doing and I actually really liked your idea of shiplap. Think it would be ashame to go to all the effort of upcycling and decorating but leave the dated pattern on the walls. Really looking forward to seeing how your vision comes together
We’ll see how we go! Shiplap will actually be pretty expensive because of the quality of ply we need, but we tested lifting the wall paper in an inconspicuous spot… and it’s tough 😬

@@ArnaAlayneMorton It's ashame the shiplap would be so expensive. If the paper proved harder to remove maybe you could look at a thick lining paper to paper over the textured wallpaper you currently have and give you a smooth finish.
I'm loving these home vlogs, it's coming along so nicely! And that timberline green color is so pretty. Your comment about Alex wanting to cut corners and you preferring to take the time to do it right is the same dynamic my boyfriend and I have 😅 So I'm with you on wanting to take time to do it right!

Doggo tip they do make doggy "perfume" deodorizing spray you can find it at any pet supply store. The longer you have sweet Freya the more your realize exactly what you will buy for them. I cant even go through the drive through without getting my dog some nuggets. lol

We have a Labrador Retriever and I use a dog raincoat when walking her in the rain because she has a double coat and takes FOREVER to dry. I found it cut down on the wet dog smell and her head and tail dry pretty quickly
We removed very textured 60s-era wallpaper a few months ago using some sort of wallpaper stripper product that we got at a home improvement store. It wasn’t too bad. It didn’t have paint on top of it but it might be something to check out? Love watching your progress!!
Yeah we might have to get something like that or use a heat/steam gun!

Loving your vlogs! Have you thought about using a paint primer that is designed to fill in texture for your bedroom walls if you decide against the shiplap? It’s usually soles for exteriors and filling in texture on brick walls etc, and can be sanded back to completely smooth if you want.
