- An aspect of gaming I’ve fallen well and truly out of touch with is achievement/ trophy hunting. I was a massive achievement hunter back in the day but since starting work full time and beginning this channel I just completely fell off the bandwagon. So, what better way to get back on the wagon than by attempting to complete 30 Platinum Trophies in 30 Days. It posed the perfect concoction of working on a video, playing a bunch of games and upping my total platinum's, what could possibly go wrong?

Wow so awesome to see someone else actually do this! Yup, it's definitely more of a mental drain than you think going in. And estimated times are dangerous, 10 hours always sounds "do-able" but then you realize that's basically your whole day with few breaks. And that's assuming it really is 10 hours (I tend to go slower with games). Congrats on finishing it though! Kudos to you my friend. (:

For some reason when I saw this I thought he was copying mystic but when I saw mystic comment I just forgot about it and got proud about that another person is doing this challenge
@@typicalgod9597 He even mentioned it at the beginning of the video that Mystic was his motivation for the idea. Anyway, in no way this is a copy, he really ranked these games and share the conclusion. While Mystic went rather for a vlog type, HairBear took it more like a documentary.
The best of this video is that he mentioned platinum shouldn't be only about getting as many as you can, it's more about a reward for playing a game you enjoy. Trophy hunting for me is exactly about that, and there is nothing giving me more satistaction then taking a break after a nice platinum.

That intro is so relatable. While in high school, achievement hunting provided a way to extend the playability of a game since high schoolers tend not to have money for games, but have the time for them. Upon entering the workforce, these achievement hunters can buy whatever games they want, but lack the time they had in high school to play them. This is perhaps the most relatable first world problem a gamer could have.

I got my first platinum the other day. Never cared about getting trophies before. But honestly that feeling of seeing that platinum pop up was just the serotonin boost I needed. I’m still only really doing “easy” trophies and games I actually enjoy. But I’m still having a grand time.

Ye my first platnum was on lego jurrasic world it was the wana soda and i hade to get a guide but when it popped i felt a deep relife
I did 10 platinums in 10 days to close out 2020. It was fun and to this day one of the most memorable gaming moments in the past 15 years. I did Cuphead, Astro's Playroom, Concrete Genie, Miles Morales, Modern Warfare, Goat Simulator, Burly Men at Sea, Infamous SS, Spyro the Dragon, Infamous First Light.

Props for the 30 trophies! The southpark one is one I've done twice in both PS3 and PS4 and it's so easy to mess up and very daunting but it's the kind of game that no matter how tedious it can be, is too much fun. Seeing this video makes me want to delve into my back log because so many of these pull some to mind. Congrats and great vid!

I always see these kinds of videos and I’m always interested but then I reach the half way point I get bored and find something else to watch but this video was different it kept me interested until the end amazing job man and I’ll definitely check out more of what you upload

This is a massive undertaking that would have driven me insane. I used to be a big trophy collector, but stopped when I realized it was interfering with my enjoyment of the game. It's such a terrible feeling missing a missable trophy and knowing the only way to get it is by playing the entire game all over again. Yet having said that, there is a certain addictive satisfaction in seeing those trophies pop that can sometimes make the game feel more rewarding. So I guess there are pros and cons to trophy hunting.
Now I've reached a middle ground where I will only go after trophies if they look fun to attain. Because of this, I've only gotten two platinums in the past year, but at least I can say I enjoyed my time getting those platinums.
It is a terrible feeling knowing you need to replay an entire game for one mistake. It's the reason why I have one trophy left on South Park Fractured But Whole and haven't gone back because it requires so much effort for a simple mistake. With that being said I think the middle ground will often be where I find myself. I'll attempt to 100% a lot of games but if they're bs I'm just going to enjoy the game and leave it at that.

Play the Quarry that game will stress you out on how too obtain the trophies. It’s only a 8 hour game but it makes you replay the story a bunch of times. Maybe I did it the hard way but man that game burnt me out

This dude is looking to undergo so much stress!!! Trophy/achievement hunting used to be something I loved doing but as you said many different reasons you just drop out of it. I had considered getting back into it but there's an unhealthy obsession element that begins to creep in too.
It was a bit stressful not going to lie 😂 Somehow though, I'm still excited to platinum/ 100% more games. It definitely can get to that insane level but I have a pretty low patience bar for garbage trophies and achievements. Not going to let them ruin an experience

Great video. I'm myself an achievements hunter but on Steam. This year I managed to clear a huge part of my backlog and even go back and 100% other games from my library.
A small suggestion for future videos like this - It would be nice and more informative if you mention (or just put it as a text) how many achievements each game has.

Fun video. I gave it a Like :) You should've stuck with that AVGN choice though. There's a Trophy on it for beating the hardest level in the game without dying once. It's very very difficult, but I was so proud of myself after getting that one. Great feeling.

The problem with cramming loads of experiences into so little time is that you don't really get to enjoy more polished, less short lived titles. Ratchet really saved it imo

Great video. I had the same problem with Stick of Truth where I missed a piece of clothing, except unfortunately for me it was a missable piece and so I had to go back. Thankfully I did manual saves before most sections so I added only 4hrs onto the platinum

I have spirit of the north for my switch, only beaten it once and yeah i agree the forest section is tedious, needed a guide for it. If anything i would love to see a sequel that maybe fixed some of the issues? The art and story conveyed was amazing and id love to see more of that world. Dont miss some of the platforming challenges though..
I'd love to see a sequel to Spirit. Fix up some of the clunky platforming and a few bits and pieces and it'd be incredible!
I can't believe, that after all these years I finally found someone who shares my feelings about Game of Thrones. When my girlfriend forced me to watch it with her, I never really enjoyed it but wasn't really able to articulate why I'm not having much fun with it, while every other person on the whole planet apparently loved it. But you said it right there: There were just too many unlikable characters to really keep me invested and make me care for anything that happens. And yes, I just went on a rant about a tv show, that has ended a few years ago in the comment section of a gaming video that doesn't have a lot to do with that show. Sorry for that 😅

I have a lot of these 100% - Xbox One, so the equivalent. A lot of these are really easy, but I mean, what can you do with such a time constraint! Nevertheless, a good watch and props for that consistency!

I've recently had the same call to become a Platinum hunter.
I've discovered how annoying it can be to go back and try to complete some of the older games where coop/multiplayer is required but nobody plays it anymore.
God of war 2018 made me trophy hunt. I had 9 platinums in my PS3 and PS4 era. But once I got that platinum I went crazy lol. I now have 54 in total (2022). Ragnarok was my last platinum.
I'm looking forward to going back and platinuming the GOW series!

After previously doing the 30 Platninums in 30 days challenge myself. I retried it recently. I got 21 Platinums within three hours, so yes, you can do it easy nowadays bro. Thre is SO MUCH Shovelware in the PS Store nowadays. It's like taking candy from a baby lol.

Yooo, I played Donut County awhile back and got all the achievements as well, and had such a good time with it
My first plat was around when Spider-Man first came out and to this day I only got 31 so very impressive
Still 31 platinums in 4 or 5 years isn't something to sneeze at!
Marvel spiderman was my first platinum back aswell that game just felt like I needed to see everything

A couple of easy to get trophies in games for PS5 is Charlie The Roach and Dungeons Of The Deep. They both have plenty of Gold trophies and both contain a Platinum as well. Will take about 12 hours to Platinum both.

You have definitely peaked my interest with your content over all great video my only complaint is the random game footage in-between clips was kinda annoying cuz I'd look away you would start describing something as an absolute classic or a visually stunning experience if look back to see a game a really like ans was excited to hear you talk about only to have you then say some other games name a hard cut to that but over good vid and can't wait see more

Donut county was so much fun. I wish it had one more level that was a bit more challanging, but otherwise it is great.
I also had that Stick of Truth panic attack when going for the platinum, it was for a missing clothing piece that I did collect but when I saved and quit the game it didn't keep the items upon reload. Thankfully it wasn't a missable.

Mystic is the only PlayStation dedicated channel I stay subscribe to. Been watching him for 3 years now.
The only reason I don't do the 30 plats in 30 days thing is that it is mostly people abusing games released with simple platinums just to get you to buy them.
It does suck when games don't have platinums. I've wanted to get all the Mega Man games since I grew up with them but with the four collections of like near 20 games you only get 2 platinums.
Spider-Man is a good platinum. It was my first platinum. I got it back in 2020. I got the platinum for a 2nd time back in August this year. I recently made a new account just to stream every platinum I get so I will be getting the platinum a 3rd time. :p
Starting over is kind of annoying considering some of the platinums I already have take 35-50+ hours. Such as AC 2, AC Brotherhood, Days Gone, Jedi Fallen Order, Weird West, Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 2, UFC 4, NFS Heat, Nioh 2, Uncharted 1 2 and 3.
The worst platinums I will have to get again are Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. I've platted Asylum twice and City once. Platting City took me forever because of the combat challenges. I'm going to regret having to do them again.
My hardest platinum by far that I'll have to get again since I didn't cheat to get it like most was Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Beating that game on Master is so annoying. :p It is actually hard to beat on Master despite being a simplistic game.
Mystic makes some great content, dude kills it!
You're 100% right there are so many titles that are literally made to get a quick and easy platinum that you pay a few bucks for, it's gross and thankfully PlayStation finally seems to be addressing that now somewhat.
I've heard Kena is brutal, used to be simple but through an update got really difficult I believe.
@@MayorHairBear It was easier in the past as a result of people cheating to get the master difficulty trophy. You could beat the game on easy, save right after beating the final boss and then make a new game on Master and load your save from easy and get the credits; it would think you beat it on Master and pop the trophy. XD

A story I have with achievement hunting is that when I got gamepass, games that I would complete to like 74 to 80% on Xbox I would just get board because there would be something new or a little bit different. I'd recommend not getting gamepass if you are hunting. A good reason not to get it is because when you open a new game it sits in your profile at 0% and they add up over time, and I mean like A LOT.
