- Our poor Oliver has developed a large cyst on his tail that is incredibly painful. When we called the vet to have him looked at, we were not expecting the answer we got from the vet. We thought the vet would be able to give him some medication and it would take care of it, but for very complicated reasons his tail could not be saved and would need to be amputated. This was a pretty traumatic experience for all of us! Austin finally cut most of his hair off, and Claire and Carmen get a HUGE surprise!

Our pup had that cyst on top of his head, stitches come out on Thursday. No more cone yeahhhhh. We used a product called "pill pockets" by greenness, they work great.
Greenies are the best for pills. So easy to use!

Poor Ollie. My beagle Bentley had the same exact thing tho. He had a growth since he was a pup, and it grew with him. But thankfully I caught it before it got too big. The vet was correct, there wouldn’t be enough skin to close it. Ollie will thank you in a few days ❤️

My dog wore a cone of shame for a long time.. I took it off when I fed him and took him potty, he was able to drink with it.. He is feed 2x a day, he doesn’t have a dish of food out..
poor puppy dog I hope he get well fast.

Poor Ollie. Trust me, been there done that. When a vet says amputate, do it. I know I probably sound harsh, but, the vet was correct. Ollie will be back to his crazy self in no time. Cones of shame are miserable for humans as well! Hint, take it off when he goes outside to potty! Nothing more funny and sad when they are sniffing for the perfect spot! Lots of belly rubs should have been prescribed as well.

Please try peanut butter our dog had to take meds for over a month and she would take so much better that way .She would spit it out with hot dogs . Happy the pups ok .

to have the tail chopped of it seems like that is very nuts yeah definitely does not seem like it is a great idea to have to chop it off does It hurt how does the vet guy take the piece out of the dogs tail seems crazy
Take the cone off while he drinks when he is done put it back on. Watch him while he drinks.
hopefully the guy knows how to amputated the sis white part of his tail hope your guy at the vet knows how to fix his tail without the dog having anypain
