- See the dinner buffet food from two Celebrity Cruises, updated for 2023! These were from our late December & early January cruise on the Celebrity Apex and then the Millennium. There were many gluten free and vegan options as you can see in the tour. We'll also show you what the differences were between the Oceanview Café buffet dinner from one of the newest vs one of the oldest cruise ships of Celebrity's fleet.

Joanne gives an honest opinion, all cruise lines have cut back on quality selections with lots of carbs to fill you up. I would go for the Indian curries, ramen noodles and duck if there is any left. Keep up the great work !

The buffets look really good. I've never been to Celebrity Cruises and the buffet is a big thing for me so this seems really appealing. Especially the Apex one, though I like the idea of the ramen station. I can get really good ramen all the time so that is not a big deal. Love that they have lots of unique items to mix up the food on different nights of the cruise. I probably wouldn't need any of the specialty dining. And if I like the coffee enough at the drink stations, I might not need specialty coffee either. Great video as usual - love the comprehensive survey and the occasional taste test.
Our pleasure- glad you enjoyed! 😊 We really liked the buffet on the Apex as well- good quality and selection. We also didn't feel like we needed to eat at a specialty restaurant as they had quality MDR dinners, and the buffet was good too.
🤣 I was getting nervous because nothing was really appealing to me until 21:40 when the good salads and Italian food started showing up. I try to choose dishes that I don’t make at home when I’m on a cruise and the fancier Italian and Asian dishes are my go-to’s. And I will get the duck every. single. time. I need to keep an eye out for that “After Eight” cake next time. It looks good. My mom used to make devils food cake with peppermint frosting and I think that cake would bring back some happy memories. 😁 Thanks for the video and I want to wish Joann a HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! 🎉

WOW, after over 60 cruises, we never really ate in the buffet for dinner but this looks amazing. I plan to eat in the buffet for dinner on our upcoming cruise after seeing all this. WOW

I see quite a few things I would enjoy here, but it’s not like the Celebrity buffet video you posted a few months ago. I can’t remember which ship you were on. I don’t think it was the Apex. All in all, this looks quite a bit of a step down from when you last sailed Celebrity. *I STILL LOVE YOUR VIDEOS THEY ARE THE BEST!!*
Thank you very much Dustin! 😊 The other one was for lunch actually, and yup it was better with the different themes especially. Since most guests eat at the main dining rooms, the dinner buffets for most cruise lines are usually not as good as lunch, though there are exceptions.
My favorite part of room service was the croissants with whipped butter and whipped cream cheese and fruit. So good!

Great video is always. The still photos are so helpful and you catch yourself saying yes or no to the various items. Just a quick note: it's Brussels sprouts with an S, as they're named after the city in Belgium.

The food still looks pretty good but I think the variety and quality have Ben reduced. Though I think it’s better than NCL, MSC and Carnival. Can’t wait to go on my next cruise. Thanks for posting!❤

It looks like the accountants are planning the buffet menus now on Celebrity. Disappointing.
Agreed. I’m really surprised at this… but then, the Celebrity brand is owned by Royal Caribbean. I don’t know if you’ve been on any of their ships recently, but I was on the Harmony a few weeks ago, and the Windjammer was quite a big step down even from this. Huge disappointment… Definitely several steps down from where they used to be.
Yeah it wasn't as good as in the past, but still pretty good though.
I make better dishes than this at home.

Thank you very much! 😊 Nope the Millennium is the first of the 4 Millennium-class ships. So hopefully the Eclipse has that ramen station AND better food than the Millennium-class 🙂

I am seeing a huge lack of fish & seafood. And what fish there is, is ruined by being smothered in tomato sauce and fish "fingers" is NOT fish. Disappointing
I was thinking the same thing! Seafood is what I look forward to on these cruises. They’re cheaping out!
On the Millennium I would say it wasn't that great when it comes to seafood, but on the newer ship the Apex you can have barramundi grilled and seasoned the way you want (see 3:52). But yeah heavy saucing is a classic technique to prepare the fish to cover up some of the fishiness.
Maybe they are saving the seafood for the sit down restaurants so that there is limited waste 🤷🏾♀️

Haven't heard that they removed it, and if they did I'd be very surprised. So the custom pasta station should be there, though if you find out otherwise would love to know!
Hello cruisers, compared to your Cunard dinner Buffet, Celebrity doesn’t compare in my opinion. I don’t see the big cuts of meat and the delightful desserts. I hope the restaurants make up for the carb heavy Buffet. Great video! Aloha

1st thing it must be clean from sitting
down to silverware, drinking cups ect
I don't like to touch the same spoon
while reaching for food :( I would
prefer plastic gloves while severing
the cooks should try to keep uniforms
clean while going to food stations
all foods might not be the best
but give it a try reals on food home or out:).
Can you tell me which ship has the best buffet section and taste no salt.

Thank you! 😊 We thought they actually slightly better selection of veggie dishes (e.g. at the carvings station, some curries) compared to other cruise lines. But yeah not the most impressive.
Is Celebrity cruise nicer than Carnival?
HI Angela! That's a good question when it comes to food. I would say that the main dining room food for dinner on Celebrity is better, though for lunch Carnival has the edge with all the different eateries, especially if one prefers comfort food. As for buffet, Celebrity is better, especially the newer Celebrity ships.

I have never been on a celebrity cruise. only Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. I will say both are amazing , the service is amazing, the boats are all great symphony of the seas is amazing. the food was great on both ships . but in my opinion most cruise food is similar.
For us Celebrity does have somewhat higher quality food, especially in the main dining room. But agree with you that most cruise lines have good food overall.

Food is one of the staple reasons to go on a cruise. To see the quality lacking like this, and on pne of the higher class ships is disappointing
Whatever happened to a table cloth and a waiter or waitress service. All that food left to the elements.

In the last part of the video, I lost all of my hope because when you talked about ramen, nothing was correct. What you said about the ingredients in a ramen, what is a ramen, how they make it, the fact you confuse miso soup with miso ramen broth, the way you enchanted those ingredients (ingredients that don't match with ramen, to be honest)....it's all wrong. I suggest you to inform yourself about what you eat, because you have a large community and they deserve to know at least a little bit of knowledge of what to eat and what to not eat. Ramen and soba never stay together, so even this is absolutely wrong, also because for what regards soba, there are people who don't even know they can be allergic to soba and risk their lives, if they eat it. The fact they put these together and how they cook it, as much as the ingredients they let you choose, makes me understand how ignorant they are. These type of videos are not just saying "oh, it's good! Oh, it's tender ". They should inform people more about what you are eating and give your opinion based on the knowledge you might have about a specific dish. If you say that was a super amazing ramen, sorry to say, but you don't know what a good ramen is.
