Awesome Olivia. I got off the rat race due to having severe clinical depression and anxiety in 2011, after years of therapy and CBT, changing my rules for living and a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome, I now live a very simple, peaceful life with my husband and animals, and I've never been happier or more content. I love you signing off in prayer too, Amen! Xxxxx

I love hearing about equestrians who are on a journey to compete in a way which doesn't conflict with their integrity.

Hi I’ve watched your videos for a few years stopped last year I think, have come back because I feel you’ve found yourself which is fantastic and connecting in a brilliant way with your horses. Well done 😀

It’s so lovely to see you happy and at peace with the direction you are going with the horses, ❤ and excited for your wedding ❤
I agree it’s so hard to cook healthy, it’s so expensive.

This sounds like a very long term sustainable and exciting journey! From an outsider to your life, I’m so excited for you on this journey, and I personally think that you have all the knowledge and mindfulness and compassion to figure out for yourself, if you really wanted/needed to, what you and your horses would enjoy doing together!

Re evaluating is the key to living a more fulfilled life. We get stuck on these paths that become ruts! Since having my baby 9 months ago and really struggling with my anxiety I’ve become so much more aware of the importance of reevaluating and redirection. Funny how much we do certain things outlet out of expectation of others and really quite sad too isn’t it.
Wishing you the very best of luck with the new journey!

After over 30 years of nursing and following all sorts of obligations and dealing with being a healthcare professional during Covid last year I decided to retire and I moved across the country. It was the best decision I ever made. So important to do what your gut tells you is right because at the end of the day it’s your life and your happiness. I love your videos and always get so much pleasure when you post. Congratulations on your engagement and coming marriage.

Good on you! I train horses in Australia and feel a similar pull. I just don't want to compete anymore for the sake of competing or training because I have to... 🥺
Glad you have found your vibe 🙏

I know what you mean about Wilf. I’m doing the same with my own horse. Honestly Olivia, I am so happy to hear a higher level rider speak these words. So much is ignored in the horse world and it’s impossible (in my opinion) to put the horses welfare first in a high level competitive setting. I am on the same journey as you. I hope to get back to a bit of low level XC but it’s such a small part of the overall relationship.

Olivia (63 year old Canadian here), I'm going to throw this out there and you are welcome to ignore it, but if anyone who isn't your mother, a hired therapist, a professional riding coach or some other professional hired or recommended by a close friend, please ignore them and carry on as you have been doing.

The problem comes when some of these people try and tell you the new path is wrong. But I understand what you mean xx

regarding getting more distance in the liberty: have you tried sending the horse around a barrel while you stay on one side of it? I plan to try that with my horses for the same reason. It just occurred to me yesterday.

I love seeing your journey with your mental health and how you train your horses now with the groundwork and stuff. I don't know if you are familiare with Karen Rohlf and Dressage Naturally, but I think you would really like what her message is.
