- Another huge moment in my riding career!
I have done many Grand Prix tests with Wilfred but none of them have been official but we changed that! We did our first big one at Hartpury Premier League scoring 66.8%, just 0.2 off a qualifying mark to go international.
Wilfred was a legend! He definitely felt the atmosphere when we got in there but we had some tools from the groundwork to release that tension and he stayed with me. I was also very nervous before getting on after watching a few people go and also knowing I had to follow Charlotte Dujardin in!
I am so proud of this horse, we have come a long way over the years! Still, a lot to improve on but so blessed to be doing this!
Also massive thank you to Harvey Wet dog for filming the test so beautifully!
It's so lovely to see a horse at GP who is relaxed in all paces, not fussing in his mouth or tail swishing etc. He is a a credit to you, and I know it wasn't easy to get him there. Congrats! Well deserved.

Not sure we were watching same video? Tail going and mouth foaming. I'm assuming it will because of being pulled in horrible position 😰
@@k40ren i take it u know nothing about dressage then, yes his tail was swishing around but the foam is from being on the bit and it’s just saliva which is mixed all horses do it. The way his head is is a natural dressage position where as some are forced into that shape

I am.sorry Olivia, but please please please can sass have her own blogs please. That look she gave you as you were going to go down the steps was awesome. I lost my Mum sept 19 and when watching Ms Sass, it is like watching mine. The looks, the ignoring your blogs and making noise, the never getting over excited, it really is. So yay to Mother Sass and her own show. By the way what a huge moment for you and your team. Congratulations. You get out what you put in and it shows.

visiting your vlogs and am so interested in your journey is because you’ve represented so many things that I didn’t think existed in the professional horse community. And your take on mindset is spot on. It’s so refreshing to see you love and care for your horses with compassion and priority. There is a lot of “show ‘em whose boss” attitude amongst a lot of horse owners I know. And care can be severely lacking…from lack of turn out to simply not mucking their stalls or cleaning their water buckets. Your vlogs help

I absolutely love the fact you have started doing ground work with your horses! Much more riders and trainers should do the same. It's so crucial for the horse to get have a consistent way of learning to gain confidence and for both human and horse to grow and understand eachother better.
Props to you for deciding to go in that direction as like you said, rare are the people at that level who seem to implement it!
If you take the time it's so rewarding and beneficial.

OMG! He improved so so so much! He (and you as well!) looked so confident during his test.. Yes there are points that can be improved.. But there always will be.. That's one of the beautiful things about riding! His flying changes are unrecognizable! I'm so happy for you! And keep ignoring those "funny looks"!! Do what works for you and your horses!! What a lovely solid test! Yes there’s lots to improve but he was so level headed and workmanlike. That’s the kind of foundation you can really build on and what a world of difference between where he once was. Perseverance pays off! (Also, do yourself a favour and tilt those champagne glasses when you’re pouring haha)

I was right there with Sass riding it with you ! Such a fantastic transformation in Wilfred and your partnership ! So glad I have been here for the journey ! Can't wait to get stuck in with my own journey with my Regalo - andalusian, later this year. We are still in the baby steps of developing our partnership but just riding him brings a smile to my face !!!

Music is too high sometimes and take over :( I needed to lower when music was on and had to turn the volume up when you guys talk, want to hear what you are saying
At least in eventing, can't say for dressage, you can carry it in non-FEI events.

For me Wilf has beautiful natural movement not the fake leg flicky thing horses are doing now IMO

You see a lot of people in the US and the top riders on the continent lunging their horses before competitions. But I am glad that you went hacking to settle Wilt down before competing.

Lovely test to watch, it’s so nice to see how much more relaxed sausage is and outdoors too in a big environment! Ignore everybody giving you funny looks you do you, you can see so much improvement from what you have been doing with him if people can’t see that then you don’t need that negativity in your life, it’s amazing to see your journey and gives me great confidence that I could maybe do that too one day, even though I’m on my own, very very little money and just a little Welsh cob who Is only 4 at the mo and just done our first prelim but have so far backed and produced on my own with little to no help, every single penny I earn goes towards my two welshies and I hope I can inspire people one day with my journey, although I’m nowhere near brave enough to vlog, I hope from the few insta posts and stories I put out people will be inspired 💕 xx
