    I have a 2019 Z900. Best pound for pound bike I've ever owned. Better than the far more expensive Ducatis and MV's that I've owned. Kawasaki really know how to make a bike.

      It must be good for you to rate it above an MV! I was impressed with the Z900 given the short time I had with it. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Paul i part exchanged my 2018 mt09sp in for the 2020 z900 performance . Had the sp from new and loved it but as time ticked by the niggles kept creeping in , small tank , twitchy as hell hated the seat release lock .Also it had a funny noise in 6th at 3000rpm but it handled wicked once the suspension was set up . So i was looking and found some pretty great reviews and decided yeah lets go this and picked it up on the 1st September on the new 70 plate . The performance is just under a grand extra but well worth it . The riding position is the first thing you notice but once adjusted it's a totally different ride 100 per cent smoother , i feel more confident as a rider going into corners and coming out of corners . Ok no ohlins or quick shift but does not bother me one bit . The tft screen is killer holds alot more fuel .The Akrapovic has a very deep grunt which sounds fab and gets rid of the rocket launcher . I think its a massive improvement over the sp . Be interesting if anyone has traded in their 09 or the sp for this . Totally love it and can;t wait to clock up some miles . Guys if your looking at this test ride it you won't be disappointing . ooh by the way all you lanky gits i'm 5ft 6 and have no issues one foot down is all you need .

      Hi Phil, really interesting to hear your thoughts in comparing the 2 bikes. I only spent about an hour on the z900 but I could tell the handling felt better than the MT. It felt more "on rails" and composed going into corners. Also i thought the screen was good and it seemed really quick. Only negative for me was it just felt a bit more compact than the MT and didn't seem to have much room on the seat to move about. I reckon I could get used to it though and will keep it in mind when I'm next looking for a new bike. Thanks for watching!

    I've bought this bike, it's really great! I'm almost 1.90 meter and it fits me well. I've the performance package, the higher windscreen definitely helps! The engine is perfect, you can ride really calm, and it can be insane when you twist the throttle! The bike just gives confidence. And the lights are really bright too. I was thinking about the MT09 first, but for me, this is the right choice.

      @@bikerpaul100 it was nice to see your opinion on it, and the MT! Makes me more happy with the choice I made. The akra is a slip-on, and I have the titanium one. It looks amazing! The sound is pretty deep, with a nice bass. It's loud, but not too loud. When I'm in the city I can hear it echoing in my helmet. You've got a new sub mate!

      Thanks! Good question, I honestly don't know. I would guess it does. From the time I had with the bike the fuelling was super smooth so I dont think it would need to be remapped to smooth anything out, guess you might get more power from a dyno remap though. Thanks for watching!

    • @bikerpaul100
      @bikerpaul100  4 роки тому +1

      Hi, I didn't take the bike on the motorway/freeway as it was just town and countryside roads in the area. I think it may need a bigger screen if you wanted to do a lot of miles on the freeway. The screen fitted on the bike is quite small so you would feel the wind. With a bigger screen i think it would be fine. Thanks for watching!

    I want to trade in my 2018 zx6r for a z900 or maybe a z650 because riding around town is more of a pain than fun anymore. Would anyone agree this is a good move or should I look into turning my bike into a street fighter sense will be paid off next month and save the money in the long run. I think I'm just tire of the forward riding position.

  • @aquilotti1987

    Im undecided on my next bike. I currently have a 2016 ducati monster 821 to trade in for either the newer 821 model, 2020 street triple RS or This the 2020 Z 900. Any suggestions?

    • @bikerpaul100
      @bikerpaul100  4 роки тому +1

      I would think the triumph and Ducati would have more torque due to the type of engine in those bikes compared to the Z900. But I personally think the kawasaki might be more exciting to ride given how smooth it is and the power higher up in the revs. Other than that I guess it depends how much you like the 821. Might be worth a test ride on all 3 if you can! Thanks for watching!

    • @TehJigzoh
      @TehJigzoh 4 роки тому +1

      Luca z900 pulls like crazy, STR has about as much power/ torque as the Z and I haven’t ridden the 821 yet. STR is definitely the premium bike though.

      @@TehJigzoh Thanks for the breakdown. I got a really good deal on a leftover 2019 speed triple model S version and bought last week. I freaking looooove it. Best bike I even owned in 16 years of riding and I've owned over 7 motorcycles. Great bike. And what surprised me was the cruise control. I dont think I could ever by another bike without it. It's more vital than a quick shifter IMO.

    When you call the motor smooth what exactly do you mean? Seems like reviewers can mean any of about 6 different things when they say 'smooth.' To which smooth do you refer?

    • @bikerpaul100
      @bikerpaul100  4 роки тому

      Basically that there is very little vibration and the fuelling is very good. No snatchy throttle and seamless as it goes through the revs with gear changes. Its difficult to describe I guess! Thanks for watching!

      @Twilight 8368 Hi! It doesn't have grab rails unfortunately. The standard seat is probably a little bigger than a sportsbike but not by much and is pretty firm. I never carry a pillion so cant give any feedback on what its like but I would guess it's similar to most other naked bikes. Not likely to be that comfy but probably better than a fireblade etc! I'm split between this and the Tracer 900. Why the Tracer and not the MT09, you ask? Well, I'm looking for the swiss army knife of bikes. Something for Sunday afternoons as well as light touring, so must have decent size tank and either has, or can be fitted a windscreen. The MT09 only has 14 litre tank, compared to the 18 litre of the Tracer. 14 litres is the same as my MT07, and that is way more economical, so not a good choice for the MT09. Also, as you hinted, the 847 cc triple is a bit of a beast in the MT09, making it wheelie prone (if you like that, that's fine), but is a bit more sensible in the Tracer. Also the screen on the Tracer is adjustable so you can lower it in good weather or low speeds and I think the leg position is a bit more comfortable than the MT09. But the Z900 is a better looking bike (the tracer is "neutral" in looks), has a decent size 17 litre tank and the front has mounting screws for aftermarket windscreens. I'm wondering what the comfort is like for longer journeys though. The foot pegs look a bit high, but if you can do 1 1/2 hours without needing a stretch, that would definately be enough. Just too many choices!

    • @bikerpaul100
      @bikerpaul100  4 роки тому +1

      I was actually looking at the tracer before the MT09 for pretty much all the reasons you listed! In the end I went for the MT as I do more weekend riding and commuting rather than touring. Heard the Tracer is an awesome bike though and i like the r1 style looks of the new model.
      I dont think the Z900 would suit long distance riding to be honest but the engine is incredible!
      Maybe the Kawasaki z1000sx might be worth a try as a good all rounder.
      Like you say there are too many choices!
      Thanks for watching!

      @vincentcausey8498 4 роки тому

      @@bikerpaul100 Thanks for your thoughts bikerpaul. I have been looking at the Z1000SX as well, which like you say, is definately more suited to touring. On the other hand, it is a bit big and I'm thinking maybe too big (it's up there with the R1200 RS), if you do mostly short rides. I think you're right that the Tracer is the most suitable on paper, ie ticks most of the boxes. Either one would be a good choice I think.

      I had a 2015 Tracer 900. A great all rounder in many ways, but has some flaws. It vibrates a fair bit in the pegs, seat and bars. Seat is uncomfortable, like sitting on a plank, I had to customise mine. The screen is terrible, I had to fit an aftermarket and also a spoiler, other than that great bike and best of all lightest in it's class at only 210kg wet. I'd highly recommend looking at the GT version if your budget stretches to it. Averaged around 45 mpg. Personally, I sold the Tracer and got a Tiger 800 XRT, I sometimes miss the extra power and sportiness of the Tracer but honestly the Tiger is so much more refined out of the box, I didn't need to do anything to it.
