In part 2 of this two-part series, we continue our trek across the Grand Canyon State between Williams Junction and Lupton, at the New Mexico border.
Beginning at Williams Junction we explore BNSF's Seligman Subdivision east through Flagstaff while a fast moving snowstorm blows over the Arizona Divide. The weather improves as we follow the Southern Transcon over Canyon Diablo Bridge and through the big sag into Winslow Yard.
The high mountain forests transition into open country accented by the vividly shaded badlands of the Painted Desert as trains head east over the Gallup Sub to the New Mexico border. We will visit locations such as Joseph City, Holbrook, Arntz, Adamana, and Coronado Junction, before reaching the state line beneath the beautiful rock cliffs at Lupton. Intermodal, manifest, grain, and coal trains ply the rails on this busy corridor.
Seeing over seventy trains per day, this is one of the most popular railfan destinations in the west!

I grew up next too train tracks, how i loved to sit and watch them go by...wondering where they were going. The 10pm train, always put me too sleep, I would lay in bed, waiting for it. I would hear the ground shaking, and here it comes right on time....zzzzzzzz......
I love ridin' them railz.
Your videos are fantastic, great trains and great look at America the beautiful.
Another outstanding video!🚂🚂🚂
I remember as a kid in Steamboat Springs Colorado listening to the coal trains running through Yampa Valley at night. They would go between Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Oak Creek Colorado. I am now a retired former truck, driver of 32 years. Drove interstate 40 along this rail, line many times from California to Missouri. Now I get to sit and watch everything that I couldn’t see because I was busy driving.
Very interesting programme 😊
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Dec. 1990 traveling west on " Route 66 " towards Flag Staff during an intense snow s😱😱

I am a train watcher 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
When you capture a BNSF tanker train passing Carkeek Park in your previous videos, I saw a Warbonnet in the consist
I question your statement that the elevation East of Winslow "continues to drop.". Perhaps, but only as far East as the Little Colorado River bridge. The river meanders along between Holbrook toward Winslow, shadowing the railroad for over for 30 miles.
1:07:51 Crescent Moon. Shape of the smile of the Cheshire Cat from the Lewis Carrol story "Alice in Wonderland" published in 1865, and adapted by Disney in 1951.
It's to see the video of the old trains
Gallup Sub this time
How does a CSX engine end up out in the west hooked to a BNSF train??
At the beginning you show Z Train consist 7001 were all 7 locomotives hauling or were some “Dead in Tow” thanks in anticipation
I believe the last 3 are dead in tow with how quiet they were
Unless changed some time ago, the acronym DIT stands for "Dead in Train.". That signifies one or more units with or without the diesel engine operating, but not electrically connected to the engine consist. The engine(s) are no different from any car in the train.
