This story makes no sense. They are trying to make it seem as if because a police officer sells or trades their firearm they are contributing to crime. The crimes will be committed regardless. We have a culture issue and poverty issue that contributes to crimes taking place. Also if they left out if the story is whether or not these used police firearms were obtained legally or illegally. If i legally sell my firearm and it ends up being purchased for illegal use down the road thats not my fault. we should have harsher punishment, such as the death penalty, to discourage criminal actions.

Next they should investigate how many old police cars have been involved in vehicle crashes. What does it matter who owned the firearm in the past, it's NOT the 🔫 its the person pulling the trigger

When the PD upgrade, why don't they let the officer KEEP them(unless it's a recall).

So let me get this straight you did a story about officers and department trading firearms in for upgrade?
Well they would have to go through a gun shop and that means they have to file the appropriate forms just like us common folks do, a military or LE goes through the same background checks when purchasing a firearm that anyone else does, everyone is put through the a through background check, contrary to what people like say. Most firearms are regulated and tracked.

So it's either violate people's second amendment or allow people to defend themselves from criminals. Wouldn't the criminals stop attacking people if there was a chance that they could be harmed in the event of committing a crime. Maybe at least less likely. Chicago, New York, and San Francisco seem to be making it a lot safer for criminals to perform at their jobs.

If the firearms are sold legally then they did nothing wrong. Blame the people not the object. We don't blame the car when someone is irresponsible

Omg. This whole story is goofy.
People sell cars, do they blame the original owners for the new owner doing something stupid with the car?
    More anti 2a propaganda.
