- Ashes of Creations Phase 2 of Alpha 2 testing is all about Nodes and Economy. But there are some unplanned systems in the game that might make getting the best testing data impossible until they are added!

Honestly, I’m done playing phase 1 of the alpha. I’ll come back for phase 2. Lost interested in progressing my character when the wipe is going to happen in a few weeks. Plus more content and more days to play will be worth the wait.

I'm not doing anything past level 10. Made that decision way back on day1. Just starting new characters and seeing how 1-10 levelling/crafting is going. I sort of missed the fast grind this time and I'm not regretting that. I'm going to do better next time.
As long as they have a good Rogue in phase 2, I think most will be happy.

I thought they scrapped rogue for phase 2 to put that team to focus on more important things for phase 2?
@@Cypher84XI thought so as well but somebody told me they just canceled rogue for release of phase 2. Which if true makes a lot of sense. If it came out on release of phase 2 there would be 80% rogues and parties would be difficult to form. If it comes out a month later people will be hesitant to switch their mains or will start leveling rogue only after they are satisfied with their main.
@Cypher84X no they aren't scraping rogue at all. They were planning on releasing rogue at the start of phase 2, or at least early in to it. But they changed plans to work on the other class kits since they were recieving a lot of feedback on those classes

Great minds think alike. I remember bringing this up with some of my guildies a week or so back. ESO's version of linking items would be worth 'borrowing ' in a WoW fashion. : P

At least you can see a guild roster in game and see who is on-line I just found that today
I can finally play a dwarf and hope for more UI customization like moving buffs/debuffs and more action bars
Given how storage is still deleting items, rolling back and whatnot, i'd be extremely scared of having everything in one guild bank!

I hope they take the friends list chat from Vanguard Saga of Heros that had a detailed search function by Guild, Friends List, Relegion, Location, Class, Level, and by Name. Directly messaging individuals from a search saved my bacon on many an occasion.
I think processing needs a "Game" in it. I think you need to be able to alter quality, get drops or something out of it or every process needs an end product like alchemy has. Right now there is no real incentive to process.
Lumber Milling
Metalworking
Stonemasonry
Tanning
Weaving
All of them don't have an end product attached to them. They just produce intermediary products for other artisans. Processing needs to benefit the artisan other than just gold. Something you do just for money is work, not a game. And it it pretty obvious, as we are testing, that it is just a chore you would love to outsource.
I think part of the pack-space problem is that we are all putting off our processing, and trying to batch it up for efficiency. We don't say "Oh good", I can now go and play the processing game!" It is, more, "I have to stop playing the game, and go and process that. What a bore!"
I know they are trying to make a working economy, but they have to try and make a game too. I get the team aspect, believe me I am more team spirited than most, but there has to be that individual benefit as well I think.
I would add that making real-life time the cost of processing is just not going to feel great to most people. Thirty minutes to train a bear- train an absurd amount of bears to get to level 10 of the skill . . . who will want to spend that much time NOT playing the game?
@@KK-mi1xj I think you are going to find that the processing time will actually go up a lot, like to days, and so will the XP.
Right now we are testing the mechanics so they want us to do it over and over, for testing purposes. Dance monkey dance! 🤣
When Ashes of Creation was first a thing I thought it was a scam. because there team was two small and they really had not done anything with the game yet at all but looking at it now I can say without a doubt its not a scam its just there team is very small making there rate of progress really slow witch on one hand is good because less people means less over head to keep the game running. but on the other hand more than likely after launch the game will go into development hell they have been milking the player base just to get Ashes of Creation off the ground so when its in the sky most people that are interested in it have already played it and moved on to other things it looks like Ashes of Creation is going for a town node system that grows based on Community choices witch is a nifty idea with guild pvp as there end game and a sub to play model but for that to really work they will need what fps shooters have normal easy gameplay with maybe 5 skills you spam and everyone having the same stats so everyone feels like they could have won but just did not that time. mix that with a pve gear you need for npc and you have a really good open world pvp Focus game the problem with pvp in mmorpg is the pvp gear and the amount of skills you have to use to get the job done and random surprise attacks if they also made it to where npc's would not attack you in the open world after someone attacked you and your health would go back to max and give you 5 seconds to focus on the random pvp that just randomly happened right before you then open world pvp could become a thing everyone could tolerate in a MMORPG and if a pvp mmorpg is there goal then there just working on the pve side of it right now and they will need a hole new system like the node system just to get it to work in a fun way for most players. this game is overly ambitious there trying to make a game that its pve feeds into its pvp and there only half way there if even just with the core system they are having to make two core systems that just mostly have never existed in MMOs before the node system and a fair pvp system this would make the kind of game there envisioning they may think there done with just the node system but really that is just one side of the puzzle. then of course they would have to have a system to make you immune to PVP after that initial hit for 10 minutes to prevent trolling with Hit and Run tactics while also making it to where if there not in your party you don't get exp from them helping you reset an enemy and your not able to share quest making abuse of the system a bit of a hassle meaning if you where very determined you and a friend could do the same quest at the same time and not be in a party and constantly renewing each other's no PVP buff witch would make everything take 2x as long so most people would not do that and play the game as intended. also you could not party up with people for the hole 10 minutes but if you where already in a party you would stay in a party unless you left but still have to wait for the buff to end to party back up . its a lot of work to bring back pvp in mmorpg but they could do it.
By the time this game releases, the alpha testers will be bored of it
A lot of testers are min/maxers and hardcore guild players. This is a 18month (or more) training program to get themselves and the team into shape. It is a game within a game, so I think they will be fine with it. If that is not what you are into though, you have to resist the temptation to compete with them, or you will be burned out.
@@TheToledoTrumpton My fear is the convoluted pvp system. And no... I'm not going the carebear route. I think there should be areas you enter that auto flag you for pvp. And those pvp areas should make up 80% of the entire map. The 20% remaining should be pve only but the pve areas are limited to nodes rank 3 or lower and resources that are mid tier at best. I rather have that. It's easier to program and won't have a severe affect on endgame.
@@henrythegreatamerican8136 Pretty sure the corruption at release will only be nodes and node temporarily owned POIs.
If you want people to invest months in building nodes, you have to make it take months to destroy them.
This is a PvX game. You need to do PvE and PvP content to succeed. If you want to do less PvE, I'd find some care-bears to team up with, and you might be happy that there is corruption in nodes, so you don't have to baby-sit the care-bears 7x24.
Guard duty isn't fun. Please don't make them put it in the game.
their flagging system is garbo and deincentivizes pvp and makes for super awkward engagements, too much effort to simply pvp, going red from 1 kill also trash
