Jeez David, can you just hold the camera steady and show us the cars instead of moving the camera around to focus on your face every 30 seconds? All that motion is making me nauseous.
The Chinese build most of the electric vehicles in the world, including for all the big brands. My Smart #1 feels real premium. Do not underestimate them. They're not allowed in the US to save your car industry from being decimated, not because US vehicles are well built.
Ppl say MG4 drives really well it has RWD. It won the car of the year in Australia. Also, they are not cheap in Europe because of tariffs. In Australia where there are no tariffs, they are all much cheaper. GWM Ora starts at 36k AUD$. And check out BYDs they are really good.
Wow, they actually moved some out of the port city open air warehouses. Hope the Airbags work. Wonder when they will start cannibalizing the tens of thousands of vehicle stock parked in the port cities for parts.
On paper, you'd think Tracy, an engineer, would have an affinity for getting into the finer details of electric vehicles. Capable of doing a proper data based evaluation. But.. nope! Guy brought zero receipts to backup the claim these cars are "amazing" or that China is ahead of the west. At least tell us their efficiency?
This was just a short clip supporting the article on the site; give that a read (it's linked in the caption). And please don't doubt my nerdiness; I commissioned/edited/co-wrote the best "How Electric Cars Work" explainer in the world: www.theautopian.com/how-electric-cars-work-an-overview-from-a-chief-engineer/
If the Chinese government were paying for this the video wouldn't look like it was filmed by a man who has never even heard the term "image stabilization".

David I love you but I had to stop watching because I got dizzy. I bet a DJI Pocket 3 with the built-in gimbal would help quite a bit here.
Green Toyota Sera in the background! Daamn

show more of the green Toyota Sera!
Jiggly cam 3000, yay....
This is unfortunately a good example of how NOT to do car videos
I'm not usually one to complain about such things, but I did literally get motion sick from this video. Had to stop after the first couple minutes.
Wow, they actually moved some out of the port city open air warehouses. Hope the Airbags work. Wonder when they will start cannibalizing the tens of thousands of vehicle stock parked in the port cities for parts.
Well if the bar is low enough, everything can be AMAZING.
Chinese cars are great they just need to improve the exterior styling a bit. Other than that fantastic cars
That slave labor really keeps the price down.
Who would pay 40k for any of these much less 30k?
