Tonight, travel up the scenic coast of Norway aboard one of Europe's most breathtaking and remote railways.
About Sleep Stories
Calm created a natural sleep aid, in the form of bedtime stories for grown-ups called Sleep Stories. These sleep-inducing tales mix soothing words, music, and sound-effects to help you wind down and drift off to dreamland. Most people never hear the end of the story as they have fallen asleep far before the narrator gently speaks his or her final words. We're recording new Sleep Stories every week so be sure to download the Calm app.

I've been listening to this for a few years. Took a break from the calm app and found it on UA-cam. I think I have memorized it, but I never get sick of it. I love it.
It’s the same for me. I have listened to it like every/every other night for the last 2 years
Same
@kadensnyder4700 there's a few other train ride ones that are great. Cornish riviera is one of them.. when I get home from work today I'll post the rest bc they are worth it! This is still my favorite, I love the thought of the arctic circle and night time. I would love more night time train ride stories or train rides in the snow.. my favorite season :) never get sick of the snow
Same last 5 year cristmaa eve

Such a beautiful story, i just turned thirty and I'm blind in one eye, slowly losing the other eye, I am also a train enthusiast, your story has made me want to go to Norway just to go on this beautiful journey, Thank you so much
Jarred Fleming God bless you,Jarred. I hope things turn to the better
Jarred Fleming I am a train enthusiast too and love nature. But it was the pleasantness of the people I found most beautiful. Yes when you've taken many train excursions it isn't hard to imagine that calming rhythm of a train. I love steam engines myself. But comfort class sounds pretty good. May God bless you and keep you always.
Please come mate, I’ll give you a tour of my country. You’ll love it, trust me.
I am so sorry for what happened to your eyes, but reading your comment has inspired me to start loving trains
Wishing you all the best in life.
Unfortunately I’m not able to afford the sleep stories on the app, so when I found a few on UA-cam I was overjoyed. This one is my favourite so far 😴
I like the blue gold one a lot and it’s free on the app🙃
@Dog Lover How are you gonna say it's a waste when you haven't gotten the app yet?

@Madison Grey Did you also found the "Relax for a while" channel on UA-cam? They are very soothing (and free of commercials!)👍
I feel like a kid again 👧🏻 It is so relaxing to have such a wonderfull bed time story read to me👵🏻( I’m in my 70’s) Your voice is very nurturing and the story was great😉THANK YOU! 🕊🧖🏻♀️😴

Try the one with Stephen Fry and you might not be able to sleep without it forever. I keep going back to it. I never know how it ends.

Um, but I want it to rain forever..you say it like its a bad thing..and that was 3 months ago. Nothings been sorted out yet either, I think it's went from bad to worse! Since you seem to be so sure about everything, and are obviously a fortune teller, or predictor, or shaman, right?

Thank you! Seriously..THANK YOU. As someone who suffers from severe anxiety, these vids help like you'll never know.
It works for me too. I recently started listening to stuff about the universe they are talking about galaxcies and black holes and i just conk out

Kristen JustKristen what are you so anxious of? I’m curious.
This captures the essence of what it is like to travel this distance. I am from Bodø, grew up there, and have lived in Trondheim for years. Listening to this makes me proud to be a "Nordlending". I miss living there.
You should be very proud of coming from Norway. What a blessing! It is my fond dream to travel here. I recently met a lovely older lady from Norway. She can see the trains from her window! She said I must stay with her when I go to Norway. I would love to one day if my health and mobility issues allow. This wonderful sleep story will have to do until then. I also want to see the Lofoten Islands.
@@wandahurley7063 on UA-cam there's videos taken from the train for the entire Journey from Trondheim to Bodo. Just put it in the search bar. I can't remember off the top of my head any specific ones. At least you would be able to sort of see the journey. Also the nordland railroad has a website with a video I believe.
@dlbstl - Thank you kindly. I’ll check it out!
@@wandahurley7063 ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=tog+minutt+for+minutt+trondheim+bod%C3%B8 There you go, make a pick and enjoy! :)
So I was watching UA-cam videos late last night bc I couldn’t sleep, and I saw an ad by Calm with a sleep story... I thought ok these ads are everywhere let me just give it a go, so I put my phone down and closed my eyes, listening to the history and origins of the lavender plant 😂 imaging I was in a field of lavender... I thought my gosh this is stupid but surprisingly I was asleep before the ad had even ended! Now I’m hooked to bedtime stories and I was looking at alternatives to calm but I have found no1 that beats their stories or their readers tbh
Yeah mate Stephen Fry gets me every time
Lol I installed the app a few days ago Monday my mother persuaded me.
I have listened to this story about 6 times to help me sleep and I've yet to get far enough to know what it's about 😂
That's funny!
So you missed the part where the dragon dies?
Noeraldin Kabam wait wtf dragon dam I pass out by the time the train starts moving
Let us know if you ever find out ! 😂😂

@@dlbstl sounds like a great project for one of us insomniacs - make a list of time stamps plus links out to specific images.
I'm having serious caffeine withdrawals and I haven't been able to sleep in two days. Last night I put this on and managed to sleep from 8 pm to 1:26 am. Only sleep for an hour at a time after that but this helped and I am grateful for any amount of sleep.
Maybe longer stories help you more? There are stories that are over 8 hours long, or you could open a playlist of them.
This video makes me wanna fly to Norway right now

I'm going to Denmark for a month in Feb its just amazing so relaxing. Try it
I love this story. Mr. Braa's voice is so calm and soothing. I've been looking for more stories narrated by him, but my search failed. Perhaps in the future?
Love from the Netherlands. 💕

Hi by
I've been listening to this on and off for the last 5 years and I've never heard the end
I've listened to this a thousand times and never made it to the end...I only just realized it's only 30 minutes long! Good job guys.
May we never grow so old so as to not enjoy the wonders of a sleep story. Thank you, Calm! 💜
This was very relaxing but instead of falling asleep, this inspired me to book a trip to Norway.
I listen to this every night! I’ve never made it to the end, so I listened once during the day to hear the whole thing:) I never get tired of this one. It just struck a chord with me from the first time I listened.💕❄️
me and my mom listen to this almost every night
Cuz it’s the best story and best voice we love it cuz we sleep in less that 5 minutes
💙💙💙 Omg I love love love this sleep story so much.
💛 I LOVE the CALM app, I listen to the stories at night and during the morning when I’m feel anxious getting ready or any other time I’m feeling anxiety, it really helps me to relax. It really is the best app and well worth paying for the yearly subscription.
💙 I’ve been listening to the Nordland night train story almost every night - since I first heard it over a week ago. I also have listened to Eric Braa’s other sleep stories on the app - they are all so wonderful, he has such a soothing voice.
❤️ This sleep story in particular is my absolute favourite - it’s so wonderful. His voice is so calming and the story is just so lovely.
🚞 I love this sleep story so much, that it makes me want to go to Norway, and take that train ride! And I will go, one day, by myself - live out this guided story for myself in real life. I love to travel by myself - when I do that, I feel like I’m in my own guided story.
🚂 I’ve been doing some research on how I would do that. I’m thinking about doing it next year for my birthday. Or maybe in the summer when there is the midnight sun so more daylight hours.
💫 This sleep story has made me fall in love with Norway and I’ve only been once years ago at night to the artic circle in Norway to see the Northern lights - our tour guide drove us from Finland, we saw the most amazing night sky filled with shooting stars and I could see planets with my naked eye, it was like being in space, it was incredible, but it was super cold minus 30oC, but finally in the very far distance we saw green hues of the Northern lights. But now I really want to go to Norway to see the mountains and the landscape and take scenic train rides and take that Nordland train and now it’s all I can think about, I really want to go to Norway now. I read that it’s one of the safest places to visit for solo female travellers. I want to take all the scenic train rides in Norway and explore all the beautiful landscapes.
✈️ What I have found so far:
Get a flight from Gatwick to Trondheim. Norwegian Air flies directly from Gatwick to Trondheim.
Nordland line, 71 from Trondheim Sentralstasjon
71 to Bodo at 07:38
Night train to Bodo at 23:40
I would get the morning train though - so I can see the scenery on the way to Bodo.
Then return
Bodo stasjon to Trondheim - 71 at 12:15pm - getting to Trondheim at 22:00
They say it’s worth spending time at Bodo to visit the islands - you can take a ferry. Need to do more research.
How to get from the airport to Trondheim station 🚉
‘The train station of Trondheim Airport is known as Vaernes and Trondheim Lufthavn - accessible in a few minutes from Terminal A and terminal B via a covered pedestrian way. Trondheim airport train station is next to Raddison Blu hotel. Travel time to the main railway station Trondheim S is approx 35 mins.’

I love this story, it's very soothing and spoken so well.
I've listened to this story so many times, I'm not keen on air planes or even traveling for that matter...but I think I'm going to have to go to Norway and experience this journey for myself.
I will definitely take a train from Trondheim to Bodo after listening to this beautiful story ❤️
Makes me feel like my grandpa is still here
That first moment where his relaxing voice hits… it’s amazing.
I felt like I won the lottery last night when I searched for ASMR Bedtime stories and found this beautifully spoken story about the place I’ve dreamed of going since I was a kid, Norway! Makes me wanna take a nap so I can make it to the end... imagine my sheer delight to discover there’s SO Many more Nordic stories to come! I feel exceedingly Rich right now, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!
I have listened to this a dozen times in the last 2 weeks, i never get pass 15mins max
His voice and grammer and the story puts right on the train.
He has his own podcast, maybe you want to check that one out!
This story reminds me of the trains that would pass by my grandmother's house in the middle of the night. Probably the reason it's old if my favorite sleep stories. That and Eric's voice and story telling ability. Well dond
FiNALLY! A Voice that lulls me to Sleep….not unlike Jonathan Rueme, whose voice I adore….I need not look anywhere else….this is the Best Voice for Sleep…thank you Erik…..
His voice 😍... usually by the time I get to something about starts am gone... listen to it 1000000 times
When you learn this story is real!!! Love it
I took that train so many times in my childhood and youth.. I loved it 💞
I have always enjoyed listening to stories , to put myself there. this fits me just fine!
Literally listen to this every single night (for probably a year now?) and cannot sleep without it!
Absolutely amazing, thank you so much. Listening to this now in bed and it's helping my migraine. It just feels like you're there, and the voice is so soothing. ❤️

Hey.
Erik you put my wife and I to sleep with this wonderful story. Any chance of doing a newer one ?? Agg your voice is so soothing. We both thank you for the 😴 much love Toronto Canada
Voice like a smooth cigar and 100 year old cognac.
This makes me want to travel and drink tea
Iv listened to this for years its by far the best sleep meditation on youtube. I have to visit Norway one day as I already feel like I know the whole journey :)
I love your voice and train stories. I can't find the one which was my introduction to "you". I would love to hear your story of the train leaving Venice during the festival where some where full mask with distinctive chins. You then describe the train, it's special place in the station, the uniform of the staff.
I love this one; however, I miss my first love and perfect 30 minutes. 😚Hopefully, I will find it one day.
Thank you.
Erik Braa is the reason I subscribed to your app. I am very pleased and satisfied.
I’m not convinced this isn’t one long commercial for Norwegian train travel.
My 30-month-old daughter loves falling asleep to this bedtime sleep story.
My 182 week old son loves this too
Despite starting this story at different time stamps, I'm still not sure I've heard the entire thing. Best sleeping "pill" ever!!!

how interesting yet calm and present.
You should put a couple hours of the ambience after the spoken word ends so that people can fall to sleep with no interruptions.
This is the best sleep story. I just keep coming back

It’s taken me weeks to hear this story in is entirety. Each time I come back I have to fast forward to where I fell asleep. Excellent story.
I’ve listened to it so many times but have never stayed awake long enough no matter if it’s day or night
There was no one more skeptical than I was about this - a story, to put an insomniac like me to sleep? No way was that possible. But guess what? It worked! I have no idea how it ended. I was sound asleep. (Awesome! Thank you!)
