We bought this machine in Feb of 2020 and since then it has been a workhorse. What do you think of the Ventrac? Follow The Link to Our Channel Here ===>>>>> www.youtube.com/@JoeTheFarmer?sub_confirmation=1
I bought a 420 Steiner, when I first saw another, my first thought was, That’s a Miniature Skider. I have used it way beyond the average person would. I am an old school Farmer, still NEED more attachments, might have to build them myself.
Hello friends, pastor Fred here in Rockwood TN. The Ventrac is how I found your channel a couple of years ago. I think they look awesome, and I watch several channels with just Ventracs. I have no need for one, yet, but I still enjoy watching them! Keep it up brother!!!
Hey Pastor Fred! Appreciate you coming along for our shenanigans. All I know is God is Good and we are blessed each and every day. Keep in touch my friend.
I bought one and I just love it on my farm here NC. There is not flat land here and that machine is the greatest. Yes it cost, but it is well worth the cost .
I love my Ventrac 4520y! I've just passed 100hrs on the machine and for our farm it can do most any mowing i ask of it. regularly am mowing hills with a 30 degree slope and it doesn't miss a beat. it also excels in very wet areas which i have a lot of. with the dual wheels, no problem!
Thanks for the Ventrac update! I’ve had my 4500Z for nearly 5 years and love it. We are finally about to finish building a house on our property so I’ll be getting a finish mower deck soon to keep the Bermuda grass looking nice. I’ll still use the tough cut for much of the property however.
Hey Doug! Congratulations on your new home! I bet it will be perfect. We too use the Tough Cut all the time. So versatile! Take care and keep in touch!
Hey Joe ! Abe from ohio near where ventracs are made . Got a 410 steiner 1999. Last summer went to dealer i purchsed it. Customer just traded 2007 430 steiner he bought there new. Kubota 25 hp water cooled. Brought it home ! Love operating that machine. My wife took over most of mowing .except steep parts. Ventrac was started by same people that started steiner. Used to made here in orville ohio. Sold steiner. Started ventrac 7 years later. Would like to get ventrac some day. Thanks for sharing. Really like Dale hollow lake. There several times .
I’m loving mine! Putting in food plots with the tiller is a breeze! Watch out for those fruit trees! I took out one of the little 4 foot peach trees we planted with a slight miscalculation of steering😢
Ha! Holly and I joke about who will be the first to take out a fruit tree! Lol... Good to hear about the tiller. I haven't used it before but looks like it would be a solid setup.
@@JoeTheFarmer so mad about that. It was doing so well too. Tillers great for little quarter and half acre plots. A little time consuming, it does best results moving about 0.5 mph but it turns under the existing vegetation and everything. Great, because I’m trying to control the weeds without spraying, then planting weed suppressing plots like millet , sunflower and clover seems to be doing the trick
Over 30 attachments that fit ventrac or steiner. Stump grinder, rototiller, trencher etc. Just rent for occasional use. Im lucky to have dealer fairly close.. sells both brands. Good service department. Great to work with !
I love my 4500Z! Mine is a 2021 4500Z with the tough cut, 72" finish mower and the KC180 stump grinder! I won't get rid of mine, if anything I will add another one it. Thanks for sharing!
I really appreciate this video. I think you made some compelling arguments why the Ventrac is the right tool in certain circumstances? It is very impressive.
This looks like what one of my neighbors has.. I like that end point you said that it cuts trees! The big problem in maintaining land has to be controlling the ever invasive vine overgrowth, constant influx of poison ivy, and rapid spreading privet. Thanks for the demo. I'd like to see it cut trees.
4520Z here. Awesome machine, although really thirsty. It really goes through gas. That being said, I’ve got a bunch of equipment (Z-turn, mini-x, CTL, 2 other tractors), and if I had to get by with only 1, it would be the Ventrac.
Hey Brian; thanks for watching. I agree that it’s thirsty…but not a bad trade off for how quick it works. Would like to try a 4520z, but not sure the upgrade is worth it. Also agree that the Ventrac is indispensable on a property. Nothing like it!
I am new. I just like equipment of all kinds and by what I know of the Ventrac, it should ones first choice for your mowing needs!! Do you have other attachments? Looks like you have a nicer bit of lawn there: do you use one of the Ventrac finish mowers?
I’ve got 2ea of them both with finish decks and tuff cut decks. Had em for about 5ea years. I mainly cut barb wire fence rows with mine and finish cut my yard areas on several farms I own in west Tennessee . They definitely can get it done quickly. The TORO company bought Ventrac in Jan of 2020. Both my units predate that sale date as well as your unit. I hated to see the sale of the company as they immediately changed a ton of dealers out and crapped on a bunch of great service providers buy taking away the ventrac line from them and giving it to their existing dealers for toro.. the older machines are great
Man the only thing better that one Ventrac is two. Or Three. Lol. I always really appreciate your comments Gene. Adds a lot to the community. Hope all is well with you!
Thanks! I always wonder what the balance of how much mowing footage folks like to see vs change in scenery. I always welcome your feedback my friend. This little machine has made our lives so much easier.
@JoeTheFarmer thank you. I've been wanting one for over a year. At this point, it's more of a need than want. There's no flat in middle Tn, and I've got 15 acres of rolling fields and woods.
@@staceycawthon7581You won’t regret it for one second. Here in Middle Tennessee we need the right equipment to be safe and efficient. It is a fantastic tractor. You will love it!
I bought the diesel, I have a 300 gal off road diesel tank for my New Holland. Plus the efficiency off-road diesel is not taxed in PA so it's way cheaper then gas. I found that the gas engines with all the pollution control stuff are very inefficient . I might be a little slower going up steep hills but it is way worth the life expectancy and lower cost to operate.
It's commercial equipment brother. And your life is worth more than money.. I have a tractor; and its not the same. Kind of like saying "who needs a screw driver when I have a hammer?" It's an unbelievably handy tool and worth every penny to me.
So the only issue is they are just as expensive as a tractor, but a tractor will outlast this thing all day. Gas engines usually don’t make it to 4k hours. Expensive machine when a tractor will go 10k hours
I think you need to do some more research. Many ventracs come in kubota diesel and my engine is a kubota gas engine that is nearly identical to the diesel. All powder coated steel and about 30 years of commercial ventrac machines going well over 10k hours.

Hey Jim! I agree. It’s the right tool for the job. Those on flat ground have a hard time understanding how frightening slope mowing can be!

I forgot to mention I use the slip scoop more than mower . Nice wheel barrel. Saves shoulders !
I love the Ventrac! Cool beans! Sweet unit! The property looks awesome! That’s a lot of work! 😊🚜🇺🇸
Thanks buddy! Labor of love. These machines make it quick work. Without them I couldn’t do it.
I really appreciate this video. I think you made some compelling arguments why the Ventrac is the right tool in certain circumstances? It is very impressive.
Thanks brother. Amazing how different terrain can call for a unique machine.
Take delivery of my 4520 in a couple weeks… appreciate your knowledge along the way of my purchase journey.
Heck yeah brother!!! That’s exciting! Congratulations my friend. It is a major financial commitment, but you will love it.

Just popped in to subscribe! Daniel from Arms Family Homestead recommend you! Looking forward to your videos!
Awesome! Thank you Rae! Appreciate you coming over. The Arms Family are a class act. God is Good!
I love the drone footage 👍
Thank you! Like watching pac man. Lol
@@JoeTheFarmer pac man :<
is that clover part of your food plots or does it grow native back there Joe ?
@DuckbumSD its native by the barn. Wish the food plots looked that good! Lol
@@JoeTheFarmer it would almost be a shame to mow a plot that good 😉🫢
I like the Ventrac videos. Did you consider purchasing the finish mower deck so that it could also mow the lawn around your house?
Thanks for watching. The Ventrac finish mower is legit. And will be an upgrade at some point.
Oh wow interesting! The production value is epic! Well done Sir 🍻
Thank you!

It looks like it's fun to drive as well
Absolutely is fun to drive. That's why Holly always wants to drive it! Lol. How is the new 760 treating ya?
@JoeTheFarmer 760 has been great 40 miles and 4 hours on it so far. I want to change the oil but if it is brake in oil I know I should wait.
I would wait until 20 hours. Then change the oil and the diff gear oil also. I'll do a video on that soon.
I've always wanted to try one
Buddy; you got the best place to try one! Come on over. 💪🏼👊🏼
Another great video ! I could just watch videos of it cutting tall grass lol
Thanks! I always wonder what the balance of how much mowing footage folks like to see vs change in scenery. I always welcome your feedback my friend. This little machine has made our lives so much easier.
@@JoeTheFarmer it's an amazing machine and sure fits the bill for slope mowing
Just nothing like it. Even mowing after a few days of rain. Basically floats on the turf.
you got the upgraded center link?
Not sure; mine was build in 2019.
do you still have this? i see videos of a tym tractor now.
I do. And still love it.
I'm in middle TN too. It looks like there are 2 dealers outside of Nashville. Which do you recommend?
Can’t recommend either as I bought mine used. But Smith Turf was super nice when I needed some parts.

Kubota gas engine or diesel? Which to choose, and why?
I chose gas. More hp. The diesel is better on fuel, but no room for dpf or emissions equip so under 25hp. Gasser is 32.5

Totally get it. If I was to do it all over again, I would test both and then make the call.
I think it’s time for a 4520N Pro!
@ventrac you out there?!? Christmas is coming!!! 🤣. Jk, appreciate you @zanderthelab!
30 + attachments that switch in couple minutes ,rent them.
Who can afford a 28,000 dollar lawn mower. A tractor may not mow as clean but it does way more chores on the farm.

Way over-rated, and way too expensive.
You obviously don’t operate one
