I find Gillian Murphy fabulous - whether in technique or expression. She belongs to the very BEST class of ballerinas - whether Russian, French, Cuban, American...or whatever.
Some of the most beautiful phrasing I have ever seen. A master class in filling the moment luxuriously and still getting where you need to be on the note.
I went to an evening of pieces byABT maybe 10 years ago at Sadler's Wells and left after the second piece (was a three-ballet evening) because the dancers seemed so disinterested, underpowered and undermotivated. Sort of: ifthey can't be botehr to really dance why should I sit and watch them. This, howver, I could watch a thousand times, wonderful.
Molto brave.Bighin GIULIO RENZO
Starts with a sort of fouetté to arabesque, Couru/curu (those fast passé leg switches), entrechats (small jumps), lame ducks aka step over turns to chaines. Those little steps on pointe and in place she does in between are called bourées
Judith Cohen....I would have to agree. This is rushed and a tad frenetic. I watched the Bolshoi production of this on UA-cam. It was breathtaking and unsurpassed.
haha 😂 The Royal Danish Ballet has an interesting Swan Lake production, that would fit perfectly to the Star Wars saga. Siegfried gets trapped into marrying the black swan and joins the dark side of the force in the final scene. Maybe they should borrow the John-William-like orchestra 😉
Zoya Gaft I agree with you partly! But I think as textbooks are much different from novels, every coutry has its own ballet style! Russian's is just for a ballet textbook, American ballet is like a novel. sometimes we can get a good impression from textbooks but we can feel fun reaing a novel!
ZoyaGaft, that is YOUR opinion...(actually the way you put it, it's not quite clear. what you mean by your second sentence..Maybe you don't quite master the English language) and to the extent that everyone has the right to his/her opinion...O.K. ...
Gillian is simply breathtaking-her musicality simply cannot be bettered!
the way she stretches her arms out at 0:50 ... she is a swan unfolding her wings! Gillian Murphy is my favorite Swan Queen!
She is divine 😍
Good choice.
whenever i hear swan gillian pops into my head
I literally can watch this 1,000 times more.. might have done already.
I have never seen anyone like her, her dancing is stunning and beautiful
Simply amazing this red-haired ballerina! We share the same hair colour and the same passion for ballet! I love her!!

Amen amen amen.

I forgot to breath for 2 minutes and 3 seconds 😍
As glorious as Gillian Murphy is- and she is- the running entrances of the two quartets is incredibly exciting.

Я был потрясён до глубины души,
Не по себе так, что хоть свет туши,
Такое может ведь потом присниться,
Пойду быстрей Лопаткиной лечиться
Best.

Who is here because they think the music is hard?
0:50 ipnotico

the orchestra plays as if it's John Williams, not Tchaikovsky. And danced pretty much the same, sorry.
Judith Cohen i’m sorry but how do you dance as if it’s john williams?
Brennen Siemens The Force is strong with Gillian.
Gillian is Yoda of the Dance!

Russian Ballet MUCH BETTER in this BALLET! But Gillian very tending to incite for this ..

Yeah but not really.
They may be in terms of skill level but in terms of artistry and musicality, not everyone has the same opinion
