13 Weeks Pregnant - Pregnancy Week by Week

Slowly but surely your baby's appearance is becoming more human. His head is not as big as a couple of weeks ago, making up about a third of his entire body. Your baby's eyes have moved closer to each other and the body is starting to grow hair.
The foetus has bones, muscles and twenty milk teeth in the gums. Your baby has a sense of taste and is forming vocal cords. His intestines are developing and pancreas is producing insulin. You will probably be happy to know the baby can smile. This is the last week of the first trimester and you can breathe relatively freely now because the likelihood of miscarriage is now very small. The most important time in the development of a foetus is now complete. Some couples notice their sex life picking up again in the second trimester. You no longer feel nauseous, your libido goes up and you feel energetic.
At the same time, your body is preparing for the birth of your baby. Your breasts start to make colostrum - a nutritious, vitamin-rich liquid, which will be your baby's first meal when he or she enters the world.
Many women feel that the second trimester is the easiest stage of pregnancy. Make the most of it! Enjoy your pregnancy and do the things you love. When many airlines advise against flying in the third trimester, now is the time to do it - just listen to your body and do not exhaust yourself. Before heading to a more exotic location, make sure to consult your doctor about any necessary vaccinations. During the flight, make sure you drink plenty of water, stretch your legs and move around if possible. -
