It’s funny because Americans always do either a posh London accent or a cockney London accent and British people always do either a valley girl California accent or a random southern accent lol
Also some actually English actors sound kind of like what Conan sounded like. They get upset if it isn’t exact but clearly it’s in the ballpark of what they sound like. I mean their versions of country and New Yorker accents sound very often to me sound worse than Americans sound doing theirs. Some English actors who train a while or know Americans do better but there are videos of English actors continually struggling with the New Yorker and even I think midwestern accent which is the easiest one really. They can do it for a few sentences and struggle often beyond that.
I'm actually really good at accents. I understand the different dialects from the various US, UK, Aussie, Kiwi, to even Japan, China, Korea, and on. There are many I can't, Philippine, my Russian is one dimensional. My Greek is pathetic. I don't know any languages outside of English other than basic Spanish. Which is why I can do that hilariously. Spanglish lol.
No, it's usually random Southern or random Eastern. I'm a Linguistics degree-holder and nothing sounds worse to my ears than an English person putting on a fake "American accent". With their exaggerated hard r's... But that's why it's such a treasure when we find a British actor who can do American accents.
Yeah the English would typically have been insulted right off and start firing back with well at least we don’t sound like this and then do a radically more nasally version than the Midwestern accent would normally sound like. Americans should have more of that unapologetic attitude she had about AC/DC with the English. Like not apologizing just yeah we say it correctly and you don’t which the more words you look into you’ll find that to be the case.
A correction about AC/DC Bon Scott and Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Scotland. Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams were born in England. Chris Slade is Welsh. Phil is the only member of AC/DC past or present that was actually born in Australia. The BAND is from Australia, but only one of the members is actually from there.
As Australian, I've never heard of an Aussie being referred to as a Pom, it's always the English being called a pom or a pommy, or in some circles a pommy bastard haha
I wouldn't say Scottish but yes the irish definitely influenced it since the area is pretty much very irish and italian now but there are still lingering influences in Boston from the original English puritans settlers there before the irish displaced them.
Come on guys you gotta quit sleeping on my boy Pierre Bernard and his "Creepy Doll Collection," let Conan show off one of his most eccentric employees, guaranteed you guys love it
In the US the east coast talks much faster and to the point. The Midwest like Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago also talk faster and more nasally. The south talk very slowly and have twang in their voice or a drawl. The west has that upwards inflection that Dave was talking about and are a bit slower too but no twang, more the surfer dude you hear in movies. But I’d agree the east coast accents are still more influenced by European ancestry.
What part of the west are you talking about? Its a very vague response, hell, different parts of California will always have different ways of talking. Bay area is a fun one.
Those places you listed for the midwest is false, the nasally people are the people from outside the cities, I've never heard anybody talk nasally when I lived in the Detroit Metro area.
The Fosters bit is true. You'd be hard pressed to find a bar in Australia that serves it. It's most popular in the UK, it used to be bigger in the USA but it's uncommon these days. Australians don't drink it.
We do NOT have Burger King lol We call it Burger King when referring to a Burger King in another Country. But in Australia, when Burger King tried to move to Australia, there was already a business here with the registered name Burger King. So they set up here as Hungry Jacks. And they are huge, like McDonald's and KFC, they are just Hungry Jack's here. As far as I know, the original company here called Burger King, no longer exists, but Hungry Jack's is what we know it as, so they never changed over to Burger King!
I bet Hungry Jack's is a lot better than regular Burger King we got over here. They used to be good but like a lot of fast food just got worse over the years.
@@johnwray393 they have gotten bad. I used to like Burger King and Jack in the Box but it’s gotten so bad. Sloppy burgers, long waits, cold fries, and skyrocketing prices. McDonald’s is worse than it once was but at least it’s a little bit more consistent from across locations.
When i ask people what accents they find attractive, and i tell them i find Australian accents attractive the reactions are so divided its crazy haha. people either find the accent nice or absolute crap 😂
I have always known it as POHM Prisoner of her Majesty, but upon looking it up, it seems as though there are several versions and it is debated and no one really knows. But I agree with what Daz said at the start. Also, us Aussies grow up with a mix of American, British and Aussie TV and Movies. We can do accents of others. But it is extremely rare that anyone can do a good Aussie accent that is not Australian. But this was a great reaction guys. Cheers!
Funny what you said about Californian accents. I just remembered when I talked on the phone with my cousin from Detroit he kept saying I sound like a “Valley girl”
Dave already thinks every video they "react" to is really just a platform for him to compete with the comedians. You'll see an 8-minute video and it will actually be 2-minutes of video and 6-minutes of Dave talking about himself.
Even among the innumerable, watery lagers available all over the world, with plenty being produced by my fellow countrymen here in 'Murica, Foster's is particularly poor, I must say. And I no longer drink, but having managed to try ~2,000 different brews, I do believe that my overall favorites tended to be sours followed closely by stouts, two categories brimming with not only variety, but lots of barrel aged options as well.
You would be surprised how many similariities their are with Aussie and Boston. They have the same rules and similar vowels with the same "R" rules. Small adjustment to the inflections/rhythm and youre there.

Almost all the members of Acca Dacca were born in Scotland (Bon, Malcolm, Angus) or Newcastle (Brian). The Youngs and The Scotts moved to Adelaide/Perth in the 50s when they were kids.
There's over a dozen accents on the US East Coast. A lot if not most of them don't sound British. Boston = largely Irish plus English. New York = Italian and Irish, etc. And most Californians don't have the stereotypical California accent.
I'm guessing they don't know its called burger King everywhere else. Just like Hardee's on the east coast is Carls Jr on the west but we don't know that. I mean I didn't until the commercials started to say at carls jr Hardee's recently.
