I had a friend that needed a rebuilt engine installed in a El Camino so I thought it would be a quick project and said ok. I install the engine and start it up. Oil gauge is going up to sixty lbs. I start looking for leaks and it's pouring out bottom of the bell house. I shut it down and get a light to check it out. Rear main ok oil galley plugs in place. Pull the engine back out and removed the flywheel think a cracked block. Low and behold no cracks but the mechanic left out the camshaft plug which allowed the oil to flow out. Went for a plug and installed it and put engine back in and got it running. I told owner no guarantee when he started it and charge the mechanic for reinstall. The life and times of a mechanic. I comes with the territory. Good luck with the seal. Bob in North Idaho. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
To quote Sturgill Simpson, "Sometimes you blast off, sometimes you just smoke!" That supercharger is awesome, and now lubricated nicely! Matt from Iron Trap is running one on his RPU, he might be able to help with advice. Loved the whine, going to be an awesome addition to the RPU! Go Kelly and RAC, keep moving forward! A-and you just got me as a subscriber!
‘THATS’ a supercharger!!! I never realised! I thought I’d was an air filter. That’s soooo cool. What kind of supercharger is it. Literally never seen anything like that in my life. Good luck with it.
Don't worry Kelly. All good. Its not an electric car. First start ups are like a box of chocolates. As long as you don't do a Darth Vader quote with that mask on, all good. "Fits all"??? That's a shifter!!!!! At least you didn't get to using some vise grips.
@@KellyBuilds We once did a engine start up and blew the fuel line off and had a fire ball in a carport and a fire ball rolled along the roof for 10 mts before flaming out.
Travis, it seems you have a ring problem, did you see this engine run prior to installing it, if not you are working with a pig in a poke. Hope the problem is a simple one to fix.
I dont care what is said but the Cresent Wrench has saved the world multiple times LOL
It seriously has!

Were you able to get a seal for the supercharger? Sure will be watching for a follow up on this episode. BTW, cool vintage part, great project.

If there is this, all important, seal missing, I would want to check to know how the rest of the engine is...👴🧐🤔
Hopefully we figure it out today
any day in the daze/ ride cool
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
13:59 You can take your mask off now! 🤣😂 But maybe put it back on when they go to start it again.
I’m paranoid! 😂
It’s a hotrod…… use a pair of women’s tights like they did in the day :) 👍🏻
I mean how hot rod rat rod is that!
Yikes...
Agreed lol
It's not always easy is it? I have one of those superchargers and missing the generator/ tensioner mount. Anyway to get a closeup of that? Thank you
Haha it’s never easy! I’ll ask trav for a pic
