Visitors to Shibden Hall have recently increased by 700% since "Gentleman Jack" was televised. The oldest part of the house was built in 1410, successive owners have built on to it over the century's. Shibden Hall is now owned and run by Calderdale Council, the Hall's park is also a great place to visit, it has a boating lake and a miniture railway and a cafe, It's ideal for having a family summer picnic.
Loved this, very touching for some reason. I would find it so interesting if someone could do a drone of the entire walk Anne Lister took to get to Ann Walker's Crow Nest. Looking so forward to the Second Season of Gentleman Jack.
Really enjoyed the first episode, felt the need to watch as live close to where it was filmed. Have drunk in the pub that was used in the first episode, its a lovely place to go to.
I intrigued by Anne Lister story. She was a brilliant and brave woman. If she only can see us today. She will be proud for the power of LGBTQ community right now. Anyway, I want to visit this place. But it's too far away from my place. Hello from California.
Am so lucky this is literally ten minutes from my house , spent yesterday day at the park an hall .Remember school holidays when my mom would take me an my brother now I go just to enjoy the park an read ❤️
In your description you said sally wainwright decoded the Diaries. Actually it’s was Helena Whitbread who decoded the Diaries.it took her 5 years, working on 50 pages each weekend.
Hi Philip, Thank you for these beautiful shots. It's amazingly gorgeous. Good thing that I clicked on the link you provided from GoldDerby Interview of Sally and Suranne. I was glad to read your comment in that clip (ua-cam.com/video/A-NZXkqKi0Q/v-deo.html) because it gave me a viewpoint from a different perspective coming from the people behind the camera who made this fascinating series comes to life. Thank you for all your effort and hard work, I hope that Gentleman Jack will have its acknowledgment through a nomination and winning BAFTA or an EMMY here in the States. KUDOS to you!
Amazing video, thanks for sharing. I have just shared this with the Gentleman Jack facebook group. I'm available to help you during the filming of the second series.

Well, I think that North Africans raiding the coast of Britain for hundreds of years and taking people away to sell in their slave markets owed us something. Why is everyone so obsessed with slavery when the Brits were enslaved by invaders of all races for hundreds of years? It was a popular pastime worldwide and still is in Africa. Why not just enjoy Gentleman Jack and think about those who have fought against homophobia and misogyny for millennia and just cheer them on instead of dragging in your particular obsession?

Downtown Abbey didn’t do Highclere Castle any harm.... I wish it every success.....
I wonder how much slave money went into this house
