- If Ever I See You Again made by the late Joe Brooks, with Shelley Hack and Jimmy Breslin. Arguably one of the top worst movies ever made. Recorded from television long ago, so quality suffers.
it's a shame there are haters who have nothing better to do than write toxic things about wonderful, romantic films like this. don't bother watching and commenting because you obviously don't get it and never will...
I read in 1972 that Joe Brooks was trying to make this movie. In a United inflight magazine on a flight from Philly to SF. in 1978, I see the movie playing in local theatre in Philly. Anyone know if it can be purchased? The soundtrack or the movie? Has some special memories as I’m sure it does for all of us.
You can get the video through Amazon or Ebay.
I do have a question though, if the college scenes are all set in 1966, and it's supposed to be 1978 now, that's a grand total of 12 years, so people would be in their early 30s...so how come some of Bob's college buddies look 40 years old? Were they old guys attending on the GI bill or what?
true...true...joe brooks was 39 and shelley hack 29 when they made the film. he also used his inner circle to cast the parts. the guy who plays "steve," his business partner, did a lot of jingles with joe brooks as did kenny karen, who played "davey." "steve" played the conductor in "you light up my life." joe worked with those closest to him.
Okay, Bob Morrison had the rental car and takes it to Malibu to see Jennifer. After the visit Jennifer drivers Bob to the Airport in her car. Didn't he return the rental car?
exactly, i caught that too! pretty dumb huh? joe brooks was smarter than that!
What did happen to the Cadillac Eldorado convertible?
I "borrowed" a Chrysler minivan from a friend of an attorney when I had to go to Southern California. I had to be driven to the boonies to get the van.
For everyone saying this is the "worst movie ever", you obviously haven't seen very many movies. Especially 1970s made-for-tv movies. I would say this is about on that level of mediocre - it's not horrible though, i've seen much worse. I do agree the music is better than the movie, which is about what you'd expect from an Oscar-winning movie music composer who's also trying to direct and act.
well, you have no ear for music and no romanticism in your heart then. i feel sorry for you. everyone with whom i've shared it loved it!
what is wrong with you?
jennifercorley Amen!
It's horrible. Absolutely horrible. It's almost like he went out of his way to make it horrible.
THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE.
AND I LOVE SHELLY HACK- BUT NOT HERE.
WRITING IS AMATURE. MUSIC IS BEST PART AND DOMINATES THE ENTIRE FILM.
ALL BET THE SOUNDTRACK SOLD WELL.
He is beyond creepy.
This movie is inadvertently funny. LOL It comes across more like a parody of a romantic drama movie.
This is about his music....if all you did was concentrate on the acting then you miss the point....a lot
Woah, a coffee percolator :) they were about on their way out then
They still have them
It's not the worst. It sure brings back great memories for me. Thanks for uploading it anyway.
What does that mean really? Great memories but you start off by saying "It's not the worst?" but you do think it's lousy , I mean this movie is as bad and sappy as it gets.
@@gargantuaism I was arguing with "Caltroon" who posted this movie and added it was one of the worse movies ever made but not for me. I found it to be a touching movie and a wonderful memory of when I was a teenager watching this on HBO.
@@silvereagle2061 I'm kind of with you. I'm sorry how Joe Brooks' life turned out, but I didn't think this movie just sucked.
@@generalbullmoose Oh I agree. It didn't suck.
@@silvereagle2061 Of course, it helped that I was a teenager at the time & I thought Shelley Hack was so hot!
Who sings California in this movie starting at 2:00 ?
A singer named Jamie Carr - he also sang the songs in Lords of Flatbush, another Joe Brooks movie. Very little info on him on IMDB.
