How does a Electric Car battery handle in winter?

Battery Life/Mileage is Not that good in very cold weather which is to be expected. I had 1.8 mil/kWh in about -17 degree weather which gave me about 120 miles for a full charge. I am hoping in normal weather conditions the mile/kWh goes up which would give me more miles per charge. But with all that said, I love my Ford Mach E!!!!

Make sure you check the air pressure in the tires when temperature drops, and your climate use is way too high. Set temperature in the mid to upper 60s fan speed, one or two, use the seat heaters, I drove in similar conditions, and averaged 2.2-2.4 miles/ kWh with maximum 15% climate use. Also helps to slow down to 65 mph when it is really cold.

Thanks so much for the information. Unfortunately I had my whole family with and I had to use the heater. Lol. Speed was not an issue and it sat outside for 8 hours in the extreme cold weather. When it is just me, I turn the heat down for sure. Good information.

When you are reviewing your trip, the graph will show what percentage went to climate control. You can use that to guage whether you want to adjust your use of the heater. In your video, it showed 20% was used just for climate control - that's a lot. Also, keep in mind that in addition to colder weather affecting the battery, the heater has to work harder to keep you warm.
Cold weather is definitely not a friend of EVs!

I don't remember the temperature that day but it was one of the coldest days that we had in the past couple of years.
