Thank you very much for this tutorial. We have great nieces and have been wanting to make a puzzle for them with them and their great grandmother who passed about a year ago. We thought it would be a nice way to remember her.
Hi Michael. Can this be done with the Cricut Air2 too? I absolutely love this and would hate not to be able to do it with my machine. Thanks for the tutorial. As always, you are a blessing to the crafty world.
Can you please do a video on troubleshooting chipboard cutting? My knife blade keeps getting stuck and off-calibration. I've tried calibrating the knife and blowing out dust particles. First project was perfect, next one was awful. I'm so lost on what I'm doing wrong. :(
Hi Mildred, it would be really difficult for the Explore to cut out this 1.5mm chipboard, but you may be able to try a thinner type. You’d probably want to use a deep cut blade though.
I bought a puzzle pattern and attempted to make a puzzle and it didn't work out as well as it did for you. I have a Cricut Explore Air 2 and I bought a deep point blade + housing for this. The edges of my puzzle pieces were raised up and it just didn't work out as well as it did for you. One of these days I'm going to buy a Cricut maker 3, but making a puzzle isn't a legitimate excuse lol.
This has nothing to do with the video, which by the way, it's just so cool of an idea, but my cricut maker's lid just doesn't work anymore, it won't close as smoothly as before and it makes like a cracking sound when I try to close it. Has this happened to anyone? Please help me :(
Used the chip board to do the mission project with my daughter. I don't reccomend using the regular maker for it, even after test cutting to align, it still wasn't aligned when actually cutting the chipboard. The Maker3 worked amazingly though.
Is there a similar type effect that could be accomplished with an Air? Maybe with a thinner chipboard? Or the Cricut veneer? Any material suggestions? Super cute!
I was actually on my way to do that before I decided just to go ahead and permanently turn it off, lol! With one of the recent updates the grid comes back each time the screen is refreshed. 😅
What if you just wanted to make a puzzle with the subject only not the traditional square or rectangle stock size photo for example and man standing up so just the man alone. Is that possible?

😍 Zane was smiling from ear-to-ear watching this tutorial with me. Now, you gave me an idea to make a puzzle to gift my dad. 😊
I’m SO glad he liked it!! 😃❤️
As a photographer, I'm going to start making these as a small gift to my clients! 💜💜💜
Thats a great personal touch!! 🤩

Sorry I missed the part in the video where you said we could pretty much use any machine. This is such an amazing tutorial. Can’t wait to try it out
@@PhoenixRise81did you happen to try this with your cricut air 2?
Dang now I want a maker!
Same lol this is exactly why I’ve been saving my equipment boxes. So I can sell and upgrade lol
Can it cut properly the 2mm chipboard?
would this work with an actual basswood sheet?
How many pieces can I realistically cut for a 10"x10" puzzle?
Love this idea Michael, and how you used a member's picture from the Crafty Community! 😊🥰
Thank you!!!
I don't know why design space limits the print and cut size to 6.75 x 9.25. i print in another program and make bigger puzzles.

Excellent start to finish tutorial. Thank you. Wishing you a super week. Hugs, Susan
Thanks for your Puzzle tutorial 😊
I tried this step by step but doesn’t work! Says the machine cannot read the cut sensor marks. What am I doing wrong?
This is just too awesome!
Really nice. Quick tutorial. TYFS
Love this method!
Love this project. I don't have a Maker, but I'm going to give it try on my Explorer.

This is very cool. Gotta try it.

I can’t seem to make my puzzle appear clear so I can see the photo under it.
I really wish I had a Cricut Maker!!!
Ah ha! Your way is so much easier than what I did. I cut the vinyl and then the puzzle pieces.
CAN YOU USE THE EXPLORER AIR 2 to make this?

O I wish we could buy half the stuff you guys get over there...here in NZ we don't, like the wood...
Great tutorial as usual! What is a dxf file used for?
FYI the tiny square between the zeros on the grid will remove it. Click again to bring it back.
I was actually on my way to do that before I decided just to go ahead and permanently turn it off, lol! With one of the recent updates the grid comes back each time the screen is refreshed. 😅
Cute! How long did it take to cut out [real-time]?
Roughly 15 minutes or so! 😃
@@mrcraftypants I have had my maker for Goin on 2 yrs now and I yet to do a "wood" project with my knife blade.
Cricut has been acting crazy

Hi Mr Crafty loving your tutorials all the time. Just a quick question can I use cereal box and get the two portions? Thanks
Turiffic video, some confusion about video title "CUTTING WOOD" you showed chipboard. Will you be doing a video showing how to cut WOOD?
Can you make smaller pieces and or more complex pieces for the puzzles?
Love it thanks
Puzzle looks great
Thanks for the tutorial 👍🏽
I have not seen you do anything with rhinestone yet? I would like to see a start to finish rhinestone video.
Such a fun tutorial!!
Love this idea. Do we not have to calibrate the knife blade before each use?
If you’ve recently done a calibration with it you should be okay unless it asks for it! 😃
@@mrcraftypants thank you for answering. I realized I never used my knife blade. Does it need to be calibrated first?
Good video like always I'm never disappointed yall make me happy when I watch every single video ,keep these videos coming.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING 😊 I LOVE IT 😍
Can you make this on any circut
You’d really want one of the makers if you’re going to be using the same material I did
Hello, everyone
I haven’t been able to use slice for the past week. Cricut broke it with the last update😤
It’s been so weird here lately 🤦🏻♂️
Hello all
