Triad man killed by off-duty cop in South Carolina

- An investigation is underway after an off-duty South Carolina police officer shot and killed a man from Pfafftown, NC.
It happened Wednesday, March 20, in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A in Summerville, SC. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said 39-year-old Michael O'Neal got into an altercation with an off-duty police officer, and the off-duty officer shot O'Neal. O'Neal died at the scene. The Berkeley County Coroner's Office said O'Neal was shot once. The off-duty officer went to a local hospital for injuries, but investigators haven't said the extent of those injuries.

He's not just a cop, but a former Now York City cop. Yeh, BIG problem, right there.
Suckage everywhere in the police world. They aren't generally the best and brightest.
I use to live in Summerville but now I live in the next county over because of how crooked many in that department are, So imagine this, an off duty police officer that doesn't identify himself gets into an altercation (no such dragging occurred) with someone over a disagreement in a parking lot and it escalates to a pushing match until the wife of the other person (not officer) tries to break it up, the other person (not officer) tries to disengage himself from the altercation when his wife gets into the middle to separate them, all the while the un-identifying officer continues to intimidate the disengaging man until finally the wife gets her disengaging husband separated and back into the car and while in the car sorting out what had just happened the officer in no immediate danger to his life chooses to walk all the way back to his car and gets his gun, walks all the way back to the other person that is in his car and while the other person and his wife have no idea what is about to happen, the officer points the gun at the man head and shoots and kills him, all without having any immediate danger to his life, to me that is premeditated murder. If I or you had done this we would have been handcuffed and carried to jail for premeditated murder, but this officer was released at the scene to go home and the police department, being the crooked department it is is now trying to lay blame on the man that was shot while sitting in his car talking to his wife thinking that the whole ordeal was over. We wait to see if SLED give justice to the right person. SUMMERVILLE, S.C.

Off duty means he wasn't law enforcement at the time, why does it take time to investigate someone in law enforcement? If I am alleged to have committed a crime, I am usually tracked down immediately and booked into jail until I see a judge

He was ordered to do the hit. I sent evidence to internal affairs/SLED of the Charleston police involved in sex/drug trafficking and I was threatened.....SLED is covering up the chiefs involvement

I didn’t hear anything that described what happened before the shooting. I’ve been in a lot of fast food restaurants and don’t remember any time where a cop came in and shot another customer just for the hell of it. Nothing was really explained here. Maybe other news reports did tell what went on, but with really nothing here to go on, I can’t draw any conclusion of guilt on either person from this report. As far as the one stripe, they said he was retired from New York and later got a job here. Don’t know how police hiring works, but wouldn’t be surprised if even a veteran cop as a new hire starts at the bottom.

I am sure it will be another case of "we investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing". I just hope there is video of the incident, cameras record the truth unlike the police.
The investigation takes time so they can go shake down the local businesses in the area for that footage and delete it all.

Autopsy report? The fellow died of a gunshot wound fired by an off duty Police officer. And the off duty Police Officer was the attacker and he murdered that fellow. Why is he not arrested? Oh! We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing. I wanna know what set this off duty Police Officer off on this guy and why did he kill him?
