hey brother i know you know what your doing. hitting a bearing will effect its integrity. its not s good thing to hit it with that force. bearings can be heated for installation process and it will not effect its integrity. thanks for the video
You need to hit the ring that youre installing, this way the force doesn't go throught the bearing itself. Using an induction heater would be a professional way to install a bearing but servicing your own motor - this works.
Very good video, demonstrating every step clear and easy to understand. Will be showing this video to electrical apprentices, most have never seen a bearing or understand what is their purpose. Would have liked to have seen a few more on screen tips such as why you are using that particular diameter pipe, what the spray is. Good stuff. Greg.

Looks like a shop too. Im no expert, but bearing presses of sorts can be made with bottle jacks, no?.
