  • Not everyday on a deer track is successful, More times than not you end up running long days, many miles of steep mountains in the Catskills. When you do connect you have earned it and accomplished something many in this region do not do anymore.

    There's snow up there? 😯 I'm 15 minutes away! Probably gone now with all that rain we just had and temps in the near 60's.
    I either pack an Eberlestock Team Elk or an ALPS OutdoorZ waist pack.

      @@paparomesoutdoors711 Bro, they're a godsend. You can get everything you need for a day hunt (snack, license & tags, field dress kit, headlamp, phone, range finder, camera, batteries, cough drops, water bottle, ammo, etc...) and have everything right at your hands.
      I walk in with it on the back, but when I sit down, it's shifted towards my front so it's like a kangaroo's pouch with everything where I need it and me making as little movements as possible.
      Mine has a sleeve behind that cargo area that's an insulated handwarmer pouch and inside of that, it has a pocket for a handwarmer (I use an electronic Zippo handwarmer, but Ozarks Trail has the same things for like $10-15 + they work to charge your phone in a jam).
      Mine is the ALPS OutdoorZ Covert model.
      Besides the main compartment, it has a clear phone sleeve at the top, a thin compartment for your license & tags, a big storage area in the middle, an open pouch on the outside + a securable pocket (where I keep my range finder) and the handwarmer section I mentioned.
      And not to sound like I work for ALPS or anything, but I take that and their 3" seat pad which I clip into the side of the belt as I'm walking that's camo on one side and orange on the other, and I have everything I need for a day hunt.
      If it's not that, then I'm using in there with my Eberlestock Team Elk or my ALPS Pursuit Pack.
      Good luck on the rest of the season.

      @@paparomesoutdoors711 One more thing, with that rig, you can carry the waist pack in front of you and the frame on your back, track deer, stop, pull out a binoculars from the pouch with crazy little movement and really be stealthy. I've done that.

    How do you think that little deer died

    • @paparomesoutdoors711
      @paparomesoutdoors711  8 місяців тому +1

      Not sure it was in a 3 point zone so people should not have shot it but could of been that or just a coyote kill from the pack
