I have the new dyson airstrait, and to be perfectly honest for me its a life changer as it saves me so much time and I prefer to have the straight hair look at all times. I feel that people have to have realistic expectations especially when looking into such a pricey hair tool like dyson. They never claimed that it can give any type of curls or waves for that matter. That is what the airwrap is for if people want versatility. But for people who strictly prefer the straight and sleek hair look dyson airstrait is a clear winner over anything else on the market. For me personally it was worth every penny, as my hair has never felt and looked better especially for us blonde girls who know the struggle is real when it comes to finding a perfect hair tool that won’t cause any more damage than we already did by having bleached hair😂
Same here I just got it today and I have 2c-3a hair and used it for the first time… it did everything it said it would do! It was so easy and the results were absolutely amazing, at least for my hair type. It’s gonna be so nice to travel with also!
@@elletalksmakeup I am so happy you love yours. I have been enjoying mine for over a week now, and it’s by far their best hair tool yet! At least for us who like the straight hair look without excessive heat damage!
Some countries have a large population of people who have blond hair naturally. Feels a bit strange to read that last part when you come from that perspective, no this is only from areas who many dye their hair blond by bleaching
I have the airwrap.. I can straight my hair.. only after couple of hours it curls again.. how is that with the airstraight? Is your hair straight for a long time?
I was waiting for someone to compare GHD with Dyson -thank you ❤. Bought GHD duet…wasted my money 😢. Not powerful enough for my hair type. Thank you again. Subscribing xxx
Sooooo happy that you did this comparison.❤ Thank you!!!! I instantly bought the GhD when it came out and my heart sank when Dyson came out with their "version". I have fine frizzy hair and just want a sleek blow out look. I have used the GhD Duet maybe 4 times and I realized that airsrdrying my hair first was the way to go for best result. Still very curious about the Dyson....😂
Yes! The GHD is great but definitely needs to be used on more damp or dry hair for quicker results! I tried it on wet hair first and it took me almost 2 hours to do all my hair! 😱
Dyson wins again.. The GHD is a nice concept but just doesn’t deliver the results for curly girls. I can see the GHD working for people with a slight wave, but it’s just not powerful enough to give a good blowout. Dyson hair tools are so awesome - I love my Airwrap and Corrale straightener. Can’t wait for the Airstrait to be available in the UK 🎉❤
I love the slight wavy look and volume so the GHD side is the winner for me. I also know two people who bought the GHD duet and they said it’s fabulous and they love it. They said they had to watch some videos on how to do it properly and after that their results were fast, smooth and sleek.
The best review ever. Thank you so much 😘 the other thing people seem to forget about is when using any Dyson hair tool the hair looks so healthy and you never ever smell burned hair. Every time I use anything else my hair smells horrible the whole time. Even after finishing. And hair feels crispy. Maybe I am the only one 😂
I feel like when I was younger I used to love the like pin straight hair but now since I’ve blow dried my hair out with like a round brush I love that like volume I get from blowing out my hair
The Dyson looks amazing for curly hair. I'm currently 2 years into the curly girl method so I can't justify getting it. It would be good to know how long the Dyson look lasts, whether it puffs and dries out after a couple of days.
I loooove your in depth comparisons! Please never stop doing them 🙏❤. I was so curious about the Dyson one, because I’m from Germany and I never heard anything about this one here, and it turns out it will release in 2024- and not even this year 😅. I guess till next year we have at least one new release in the USA and we are always hanging one year late 😂!

I noticed you went a lot slower with the Dyson then Duet. You sped through the duet a lot faster and wasn’t as patient. I’ve seen and know a girl with curly hair who gets amazing results from the duet without the shine shot . I was also told and it’s my understanding the duet should stay on the roots for 30 seconds before pulling through . I do love Dyson but i do think the GHD is a better tool all around for all hair types if used correctly and you get 2 tools for the price of one .
I hope you can make a video comparing Dyson supersonic vs Dyson airstrait to see the difference in the result & time taken. And it’ll be awesome if half of your hair the one you will use Dyson supersonic, if you can make part of it using concentrator attachment and part using the comb attachment. I really want to see the difference and if ghd airstrait gives better result. I believe it’ll take much longer time but less effort hence the design is like hair straightener rather than using external brush + concentrator attachment and the struggle with heat and pulling the hair with the brush. Thanks heaps
The Dyson for sure looks better and was overall less work. The fact that withy he Dyson you can actually rough dry and then continue drying it straight also with the Dyson it “pulls” your hair straight better than the GHD. For the GHD you need to use the hot plates (the flat iron) for it to be as straight or a but straighter than the Dyson. Sure you are getting a 2 in 1 butttttt everyone already probably has a flat iron or curling iron they could use for the ends, or hot rollers etc… I would definitely invest in the Dyson instead of the GHD. Also, to add when you have super curly/kinky hair it’s best to get a tool that really straightens your hair as a base before doing anything else to it because we are more prone to frizz and puffiness.
Hy Julissa You look beautiful like always. I like the Dyson side better. It looks smother and no frizz.Great video as always keep up the good job God bless You always. 💕
Sephora had the GHD on sale so i went with that one instead! This was super helpful because now i know if it doesnt work for me i will invest in the dyson.
Would it hold a curl if you used a hot tool after the dyson? And is the dyson less heavy and cumbersome? And is it faster to just blow dry with a cheap dryer and use a straightener like the L’Oréal steam pod(don’t know if it’s faster than a regular iron)?
I have both AirStrait and Airwrap. I prefer the AirStrait because it dries my hair straight and smooth not frizzy. However my hair is naturally slightly wavy and with some frizz. I don’t use the Airwrap because it takes forever to dry my hair. It also leaves my hair crunchy dry and extra frizzy. waist of money. I love the AirStraight. I get better results when my hair is 50-60% dry. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, silky soft even without any heat protectant. Great investment. Worth every penny
Thank you so much for doing this review Julissa! After your first attempt with the GHD Duet Styler I wondered if you would return it or keep it. I would go for the Dyson Airstrait but you got beautiful results with both hair tools.
I live in Sweden and the only one a available here until 2024 are the GHD so I just ordered one. But as soon as the Dyson comes to Europe I’ll get it and sell the GHD. But I can’t wait to try the GHD. I’m quite lazy when it comes to doing my hair, usually let it dry by itself and then I get beautiful curls. So when I take the time to do blowouts I want my hair straight or just a little something at the end like I can get with the GHD. I’ve never really got the hang of blow drying, don’t have the amazing skills that I see you have. So I think these tools will be amazing for me. Can’t wait to try them! Thank you for testing them ❤
Yes. I ordered it the same day it became available in Sweden and I LOVE it! Major investment but so worth it for me. Now I can get my curly frizzy hair straight when I want it without severe damage.
It looks like the dyson side gave you a little more root volume which was nice. I like both, similar but different! I just got the airstrait and think I will love it. Its amazing how well it works on dry hair, I didn't think it would work as well as it does.
Hi Juliana, can I ask plz, what about using ‘dry mode’ from the start in wet hair without using ‘wet mode’ first? Did you try this? What is the pros & cons from this step. I’m sure heat damage will be one of the cons

ive noticed at GHD counters they dont let you even try the brush!! yet Dyson you are allowed to try it ... prefer the Dyson from your video..imgaine now if Dyson combined the hair straightner within the Dyson Airstraight !!! that would be incredible!! one downside with Dyson can make the hair very very flat to the head with not much volume when i tried it!!

@@JulissaGuillen oh wow good to know. I just hate having to straighten my air dried hair a little with an iron before my curling iron but if I don’t, my waves look weird all Curled. Thought this would be my answer! Hmm
Im guessing that the Dyson airstrait is more so for a blow dry finish with a airbrushed look would probably not last that long in a strong wind or rainy day, the Revlon Air Straight holds better with sealing in product with more room to style, and the ghd duet takes more time to process with sealing in the products and keeping the straight hairdo lasting longer because its more of a product seal. That's my take on the time it took you to do the hair. Because the revlon and the ghd duet makes the hair shaft and hair folical more compact and the the Dyson makes it more full like a blow dry but also allows more time to get used to managing and maintaining a hair straight style
Do you still need a response? I come from the loreal steampod, first II then III. Then I bought the Dyson corrale. I was not satisfied with the corrale because I get a more straight result with the steampod as with corrale. And better curls. I love the combination with the steam which is less frizzy and the tips look more well-groomed. At the end I sold my dyson corrale. With both you can make curls and straighten your hair. The airstrait can „only“ dry and straighten your hair. But my hair was never before straightened like that. It depends which kind of wavy or curly hair style you prefer. The new airwrap is better than the old one. You get different results (curls) than with a corrale/steampod. I recommend to first dry the roots and to use the airtraith. If you would like to curl or have wavy hair, use the steampod or the airwrap afterwards. Ps: i have wavy, light curly hair by natural and if I would only dry my hair I would look like a lion mane. its not the dyson machine its the condition of your hair have you hair checked maybe its not healthy or your using another machine like normal hair iron of usinh too much chemical on your hair.
GHD looked better both before and after you boosted. I agree that Dyson was smoother in the first test, but it was flat and had no curve under. GHD had better volume and shape so winner overall.
Looks like dyson is better for colli hair and ghd for str8 not sure if you did but did u have the hot plates on when str8ing your hair or just hair flow as i done my hair and it went str8 as anything but with out hot plates on its frizzy xx
I recently purchased the ghd duet, but I'm now feeling a bit regretful. It doesn't seem to be suitable for my thick and wavy hair since the plates don't reach the roots effectively. In hindsight, I should have waited and tried the Dyson instead. Unfortunately, it's not currently available in Hong Kong. If anyone has any tips or suggestions on how to make the most of the ghd duet, I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you!
I returned my duet after getting airstrait. I knew I would no longer reach for the duet no need to have both at the prices. I also don't love the iron on the duet if I needed I would be fine running over my hair with a separate straightener
You didn't hold ghd at ur roots for 3 seconds which it says to do also they do have the sleek oil heat protection to put in before drying I think u just decided that the dyson was better which is fair enough me I like the ghd .
I like how the dyson side looks like better but from the manufacturer stand point it would not be ideal to have a tool that can give you a dryer and hot plates at the same time. They know you have to go in with a flat iron after so they counting on people getting the corale flat iron too. I wish the dryer on the GHD was better 😅

its not the dyson machine its the condition of your hair have you hair checked maybe its not healthy or your using another machine like normal hair iron of usinh too much chemical on your hair.
We have similar hair but I love mine straight or wavy but I hate curls. Can I ask you if the Dyson side lasts through humidity? I live in Florida.
GHD looked better both before and after you boosted. I agree that Dyson was smoother in the first test, but it was flat and had no curve under. GHD had better volume and shape so winner overall.
Primera vez viendo tus videos, me gustaron 😃subtítulos en español plis 🙈
Hi Julissa, Please compare the air straight against the Dyson Supersonic. Both are essentially blow dryers.
Such a good comparison video.Thank you 😊
Glad you liked it! :)
Please. Airstrait vs airwrap
Which tool do you think damage hair less?
Looks like dyson is better for colli hair and ghd for str8 not sure if you did but did u have the hot plates on when str8ing your hair or just hair flow as i done my hair and it went str8 as anything but with out hot plates on its frizzy xx
If you have coarse thick hair mostly straight would ghd better? It's 30%off at ulta today..😂😊 just wondering.
which one damages hair less?
A serious question: does the sound of both not damage your hearing? It sounds so loud
Hi Julissa. Have you tried the new shark brush/ dryer?
I think blow drying with a normal dryer and then straightening with a cloud nine would give better results.
Thank you!
Hi Julissa - where did you get the blue color? I can’t find it anywhere🥺
I got mine from the Dyson website!
Uff, i love the dyson😍
Does the Dyson dry your hair while straightening it
Hey Julissa, I love your hair so much.
You can add a wave with Dyson Airstrait. Just remove the rail guards.
Anyone know what the point of the boost mode on dyson is ? I don’t see the point to blasting hot air over your already dry hair
Thank you for the review
I like more the GHD because if you have slipt ends, it will look awful with the dyson.
Hiii..is it ok for wet hair?
I definitely would go for the Dyson.
If you let your hair cool completely to room temp you might be able to curl the ends on the Dyson side and have them stay.
Revair or dyson??
so this can actually straighten your roots?? :o
Can the dyson airstrait be used in india. ?
Please review the Bioionic 10x hair dryer
I returned my duet after getting airstrait. I knew I would no longer reach for the duet no need to have both at the prices. I also don't love the iron on the duet if I needed I would be fine running over my hair with a separate straightener
Gracias por hacer está comparativa ☺️☺️
You didn't hold ghd at ur roots for 3 seconds which it says to do also they do have the sleek oil heat protection to put in before drying I think u just decided that the dyson was better which is fair enough me I like the ghd .
I like how the dyson side looks like better but from the manufacturer stand point it would not be ideal to have a tool that can give you a dryer and hot plates at the same time. They know you have to go in with a flat iron after so they counting on people getting the corale flat iron too.
I wish the dryer on the GHD was better 😅
...on *wavy* hair ? lol. but i'm glad to look at these hair tools side-by-side
SENSATIONAL ❤
No wonder, Dyson kicks ass 😄
please do the duet blow-dry !!!!
Love the dyson side way better than the ghd
You look like Kylie Jenner! 😍😮
Good video 🙌
I think the dyson looks better. Smoother
Dyson air strait is the best 🙏
you didn’t even use the brush with GHDnthat’s why it’s not smooth
I thought you returned thr ghd
I did but bought it again for this video 😩 I’m keeping it now lol
@@JulissaGuillen lol
Thanks
No problem
Thank you
I don’t know what your natural hair looks like so I don’t know how these tools will look on me.
Dyson just freaking ROCKS!
No tengo ninguna de las 2 , pienso que no usaste la misma técnica en ghd
it looks like the dyson is better
“Blue smode”?
Boost mode
Would like comparison
Personally both machine are noisy for a women and I tone down the volume when I watching your video
Sie hat doch mit der rundbürste und dem dyson die Haare erst mal auch glatt gezogen hä das macht doch keinen Sinn!!!
