An SR latch is a very useful circuit in electronics. This video demonstrates an SR latch made with the IC555 on bistable mode. The point of this video is not to show this single circuit with an LED and two buttons, but to showcase the construction of this simple circuit that can be used in a lot of scenarios. That being said, the circuit shown in the video is far from perfect. Pins 4 and 7 are left floating, and the buttons connected might cause noise due to the nature of mechanical switches, which could cause problems if the two buttons are pressed quickly in succession.

In your diagram I notice that you put two INPUTs, connecting the two buttons to pins 1-2 and 5-6 ... . I need it for a 'mic experiment. Thank you.
If you are making it for a clap switch use cd4017 ic instead it's better
