Looking great! That red/ black is the Large Milkweed Big, they are only around this time of the year. They don't hurt any plants, so I'll just let them do their thing. A type of assassin bug, if I remember correctly.
I have heard that the Barbados Cherry tree typically enjoys a more arid climate than a humid climate. I would assume where you are located is more humid. I would like to plant one myself, just have been hesitant based on that advice.
