The Cocteau Twins: the band that Extra-Terrestrials should be listening to if they were interested in knowing the best music ever played on Planet Earth.
This is one of my favorite songs of Cocteau Twins (ft. H.Budd). I was staring in my Mediterranean impressions in the darkness of my room and listening by hours this sound... This was a mind calmness and beauty of existing... Thank you, CT & Budd
Thank you Martin Bandyke and Ralph Valdez, hosts of the radio show Dimension on WDET in the 1980s. They introduced me to the Cocteau Twins in 1986 and I have been in love with this album ever since.
The video is of St Andrews in Scotland. I recognise the Cathedral ruins, St Rules tower and what looks like the Castle. It's uncanny, because to me this track and St Andrews are bound together - the former always evokes memories of my time as an undergraduate there in the late Eighties. Musical and Visual Memory Gongs. Powerful stuff.
This sounds like music you'd hear during a flying dream. For me, this track sits somewhere in between 'Magnificent Gallery' by Steve Roach and 'The Big SIeep In Search of Hades' by Tangerine Dream.
Originally, whyever, this is not a COCTEAU TWINS-record. To be precise, this song is taken from the album HAROLD BUDD / ELIZABETH FRASER / ROBIN GUTHRIE / SIMON RAYMONDE " THE MOON AND THE MELODIES", released 1986 on 4AD (cad 611). But of course you know, with the exception of HAROLD BUDD (R.I.P.), the names are very well known as COCTEAU TWINS.

RIP Harold Budd. One of the greats of ambient music
Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd ... each a delight on their own ... become truly and beautifully intoxicating when blended together. Marvelous!

Oh, what a record! They should have made more, together, while they could.

Had this album the year it came out. Beauty which is graced by the soul through which such music is created.

I love this record (The Moon And The Melodies) since I heard it for the first time over 30 years ago. I did not get bored of one of its sounds.
simply enchanting. Soundtrack for an out-of-body experience...
Such a wonderful, successful collaboration between the Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd!
Music to leave this world by
As DB wrote and sung: Awful nice, really quite paradise.

Robin Guthrie hace gala de esos sonidos oniricos que le extirpa a su guitarra y que nadie ha logrado igualar. La tristeza se pone de rodillas.
