The truth of the matter is, I despise perfection. If something is truly perfect, that's it. The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination, no space for intelligence or ability or improvement. Mayuri is one of my top 5 favorite captains. Always enjoy your reactions and input into each episodes.
I certainely believe it's a mixture of both Nemuri No.7 existence made Mayuri feel as if he was living in a dream. As time progressed and she continued to evolve he even began to feel that she was Perfect, despite his negative viewpoints of perfection (something he spoke of against Szayelapporo)...In short Nemu defied his expectation and inadvertently affected levels of change within him. I'd argue he's grown just a tad bit in regards to empathy (Which is a lot for Mayuri, lol). Also, YES! few if any reactors spoke of the sort of Science vs Religion overtone happening in this battle, the fact that Mayuri is capable of making Life that can evolve and challenge a part of "God" always stood out to me.
Mayuri cares about Nemu, no matter how much he tries to hide it. That end credit scene with Jugram is interesting to me because he seems to be very suspicious of Uryu for some reason and that implies that Uryu would be a threat if he decided to betray the Quincies, but Yhwach can literally see the future and that was before he absorbed the Soul King, so we have no idea what he's capable of now.
Mayuri true MVP of this arc
Lets never forget the day Mayuri almost caught feelings 😩🤯
Sort of, for like a few seconds 😅

This episode was amazing, love the OST here as well but did this episode gave you a change of heart on Mayuri’s character?
Well, he did torture and kill a lot of people so I think I'll need more than a moment of empathy before I change my mind
@ I see, understandable.
A cute little detail, in the flashback you can see little Nemu drawing both Mayuri and Akon. Which is adorable.
That is pretty adorable
