It has been too long. HUHUHUH welcome back for another album reaction!!!

Yay we finally made it to the Signal EP. I've talked about this in your community notes before but this album is the biggest rollercoaster for me. I love Signal, crazy good song. People who dislike Signal are a red flag sincerely. After that we go on a big ride. Three times a day is a fine song to calm down a little from Signal. Then Only you is more at the bottom of the Twice b-sides tier list for me. Maybe because it is constantly played in the Twice in Switzerland videos, i can't really stand it anymore. Hold me tight pulls me right back into it. Def one of my most listened songs. Eyes eyes eyes... a song i actually never go back to listening to. Funilly enough at the Twice concert at Berlin i went to last year they played it as the encore :D SOMEONE LIKE ME: Top5 Twice b-side. Instant classic. Forever in my heart. Masterpiece. This concludes my Twicecoaster for today. Thank you for reacting to it.

You really want to watch the Dreamcatcher Note that has the behind the scenes from this MV (no need to react on it, but I think you'll enjoy it). "(ENG) [Dreamcatcher's Note] ‘R.o.S.E BLUE’ MV 비하인드" I can't be sure, to me it seems as though JiU's interaction with Gahyun is even more emotional in the shot in the bts than the one used in the MV. But That might just be my imagination.

An interesting link to the singer IU. 16 years before, IU's debut mv was a gender-swapped telling of the Greek Orpheus and Eurydice tale. This is a gender-swapped telling of Cupid and Psyche. This mv included a cameo by Chinese actor Tony Leung. 6 months later IU's mv for the song 'Shh...' featured the Chinese actress Tang Wei (and Hyein sang a verse in that song). Tang Wei and Tony Leung had co-starred in the famous Chinese erotic thriller film 'Lust, Caution', which was released the year Hyein was born... 16 years ago.

Your analysis of the mv is awesome for a first time watch... honestly you got a lot of it right and i've seen very few reactors get any of it! The clue is in the painting you were spot on as it depicts the forbidden love between Cupid and Psyche... this video tells the story of that (with gender swapped roles). The girl is cupid who falls for the human Psyche.. she gives up her divinity (symbolised by her 'shedding' her clothes) to be with him... however this is a big no no in the deity world and cupids Dad Aphrodite is very angry so he comes to earth to put things right.. reverting cupid back to deity form and making Psyche fall for someone else and forget about her. Its most likely NewJeans represent the 9 Muses who in mythology follow cupid around with song and dance... its likely as well that they reported cupids actions to her father as before she sheds her clothes she looks a little worried that newjeans are watching.. like shes knows theres going to be repurcussions and also in the end during getup when Cupid visits them she has a look of disdain on her face when she confronts them.

Yeah UK Garage is a clubland sound early to late 90s here in the UK... Its a personal favourite of mine and back in my 20s in the late 90s i would mostly go to 'house and garage' clubs... the traditional sound had rapping and mc's and quite a lot of speed rapping often to hard melodies.. also in the late 90s certain artists like doolally, shanks and bigfoot, Artful Dodger and Craig David started making 'mainstream uk garage' that become very popular in the 'mainstream' pop charts.. they essentially kept the same concept of the sound with the fast snares and riffs and deep basslines but replaced the harder melodies with much softer ones and the rapping and mcing with RnB vocals... it was a sound that had much more mass appeal to the wider.. non club going market. This is the version newjeans do and as its centred around RnB vocals it fits in well with all their other 90s RnB orientated genres.. supershy and 'new jeans' are also mainstream uk garage :)

You must see when they do this song at "It's Live". They are so good and there you'll see and here more of their layers. It's a must.

RoSE Blue wasn't a song I really enjoyed when I listened to it even after a dozen of times when it was released. But I really like the MV and I fell in love with the accoustic/unplugged version they performed during their Crossroad concert. You should check it. And now, it is farfetched but the more I watch the MV the more I think each of the trapped member are related to past or future MVs. 😅 At the time, they only started the Dystopia arc with "Scream" and for me: - Yoohyeon: reminds me of nightmare era post Fly High after she burnt the spider (with JiU trapped in Fly High). - Siyeon: Odd Eye era (her odd eyes and the TV screens like in the MV) - Gahyeon: Apocalypse era, especially Maison and Vision for the space she is, and Bon Voyage when she smiles and realizes/accepts the final answer. - SuA: like you said the Justice MV. - Dami: not sure if it is for a future MV or if it is related to OOTD and the falseness of things or the cash/money in the back(seat). As another Somnia pointed out, each member also may represent a stage of grief. And you can also see: 5 bullets in her gun but also behind JiU when she crouched down there are 5 doors. A very interesting MV with lots of possible interpretations even unfamiliar with the game. Thanks for the reaction as usual.

Siyeon is the main vocalist so it's not surprising for her only to be the only one singing the chorus, it suits her voice and tone the best. After all she was the singer of a rock/metal band before she was in Dreamcatcher and you can tell because heavier songs like 'What' really suit her best.

A cool detail that I saw from another comment on the MV for this, which made me love this MV 10x more. Each of the girls that are trapped, represent one of the five stages of grief. Denial: Yoohyeon is sitting in a classroom trying to pretend nothing is happening, even though everything around her is a mess. She also seems confused when she sees Jiu, because she is convinced nothing is wrong. Anger: Sua just embodies anger. This one is very self explanatory Bargaining: Dami is sitting on a pile of gold, and isn't very scared, because she believes she can bargain her way out of being shot. Depression: Siyeon is sitting in a room full of screens, trying everything she can to forget about everything around her. If I'm not mistaken, she doesn't even look at Jiu once. Acceptance: Gahyeon welcomes Jiu with a smile, and accepts her fate. I'm sure others will have pointed out her role as Jiu's sister in this MV as well, based on the game lore, which makes this choice even better.

Yoohyeon actually doesn't belong on the throne because it's Jiu's. She betrays and kills Jiu to take her throne, she kills the other members too. It's why Yoohyeon is alone and all the members are looking at her with contempt when they surround her (this was confirmed in the behind video). Good thing you picked up on the choreo at the end, Siyeon does a motion with her arms to show that she is being stabbed, Dami is holding her arm to symbolize her being stabbed (showing what Yoohyeon did to them).

Fun fact: Blue roses don't occur naturally. The color blue is rare in roses due to the specific pigments they produce. Roses naturally come in shades of red, pink, white, yellow, and orange. I see the different scenarios for each members as 5 stages of grief. Gahyun = Acceptance Yoohyeon = Denial Siyeon = Depression Dami = Bargaining Sua = Anger And of course this MV makes me really sad in a way that really shows Jiu as a leader? I feel like this is showcasing how she really is as a leader, sacrificing herself in some ways to help her members. There are a lot of interviews and the members saying that Jiu keeps to herself when she's stressed or overwhelmed when being a leader and just having this be put visually through a storyline really hits me. Jiu is a really great leader because she loves her members and Dreamcatcher company as a whole that she will do everything on her end to help out even to the point of pushing herself.

JiU is a such a good leader! She sacrificed herself to save all her members. SuA is the only one that knew what JiU was doing that why she was fighting so much... I cry everytime I see this MV, because she couldn't get out 😭😭😭😭😭

"R.o.S.E Blue" is a game collaboration with the Korean mobile game "Girl, Café, Gun". It was written by the game's music producer Esti, who is a Dreamcatcher fan. That's why it sounds a bit different. JiU enters the crystal and frees the members by shooting them with her gun. Unfortunately, she used up all the bullets on the members and has none left for herself, so she sacrificed herself for the members. That's our leader for you. 😭😭
