This is what wedding ceremony music should sound like!! I want to walk down the aisle while a gigantic pipe organ serenades me! Not some crappy recording of the latest love song on the radio!

klb084 I dont want to walk down the aisle full stop. Weddings are just an excuse for obnoxious people to show off their supposed wealth. A grotesque ceremony of brash, flash, gluttony and pompous fake rich in their hired Lambos at some fancy castle somewhere. Common people always let their guard down eventually and thats why trouble almost always happens at weddings.

@@oddities-whatnot no maybe for some people but for me it's a religious ceremony and wasn't fancy

I LOVE this video! The orchestral version is often performed also as fast as in this case. And I think ist just gives the piece more life to it. GREAT!!!

I am so glad that my church has a big organ but when they built it they found a way to have very little reverb

I felt like this was the way it was played during queen Elizabeth’s then princess and Prince Phillips wedding in 1947. That was a state wedding and the music is usually very stately along with a coronation.

The section starting at 2:00 - loud?

  • @debbiebrett6689

I have to admit that I have not yet learnt to play the section at 1.18. Is there a strange chord at 2.52?!

I can't agree, there are quieter passages - and perhaps bear in mind it is being played in a cathedral and not a small parish church

Just too fast, a surge closing on a dirge, so losing the beauty, elegance and composure of the melody and clarity of form, almost without variation, little trace of passion: romance is not a rush rather a revelation- as Mendelssohn is a master of.
