My goal is 2700 with the Barnes Tac Tx 110. I got it on the last outing, but I think it was a fluke because my readings with the same powder charge yesterday were 100fps slower.
You can’t physically get enough powder in the case to do that unless you really screwed up and used a pistol powder. Not a concern for me but that is why I say work your own charge. I can get 2700-2800 on a 6.5 Grendel with a 100-110 projectile, the cases are very similar so my goal is to see if I can get similar velocities with my 7.62x39.
This doesn’t surprise me. The 7.62x39 is very weakly loaded by US standards. European specs are 10.000 psi higher. You’ll notice imported ammo runs hot compared to American ammo. I’ve got an 8mm Mauser load that’s off the charts and runs totally fine in my gun in any weather. Zero pressure signs. Brass lasts forever. The people that print those manuals don’t want to be sued and expect the load to run in the biggest piece of crap anyone might own.
They are 308, I’ve not seen a huge difference in the limited testing I’ve done to warrant using .310 bullets. I have several .308 platforms so keeping projectiles the same diameter makes more sense.
I like it

308 or 311
@@buckclouse4888I think Barnes has theirs at .311 depending on the weight
@@buckclouse4888 .308 I’ve seen 0 difference loading 308 in my 7.62x39 guns
😎😎👍A need for speed🏁
0:20 wait, you can reload steel case?😮
You can, but its hard on dies and you have to alter the primer flash hole to run boxer if you want to use your standard decapper.
I know opinions vary, but if you want more velocity than published data will give you: step up a case size.
Don't blow your face off.

Are those .308, or .310 diameter?
