What about mbuna? Are these not too "protein heavy" for mbuna? Just getting back into the hobby and trying to figure out the best stuff to feed mbuna. Thanks!
I heard great advice a few weeks ago. Those pellets double or triple in size when wet, so a safe way to avoid dreaded "bloat" is to soak then for five minutes in tank water before feeding. No more pellets expanding in the stomach of a voracious cichlid.
I had a few peacock bass about 10 years ago and soaking them was the only way I got them off of live to a good staple diet think it may also feel more natural for them to eat as well
Cool info! I feed my ACs Northfin and PE Mysis Shrimp Pellets!! Also instead of Amazon you should promote small business owners like Super Cichlids!! They are very supportive of the hobby and they sell ever from food, filters and other essential! Just my two cents

Hey there. I just checked it out and it does look like an african cichlid fry. It looks like someone left you some good advice in the comments section - i'd agree with them!
Personally, I have been feeding my malawi haps cichlids with Northfin cichlid, Northfin bug pro, Tropical malawi and JBL spirulina for a long time ... excellent results!

I would really like to try some of the blue acara that you bread but I need to remove some of the fish I have I would like the send pictures once I figure out how to do this
@@CichlidBros severum cichlids and convict cichlids are different fish correct? Because they look similar. I seen albino or withe convict and it looked very similar to my gold severum I have.
I keep one African cichild with my South American cichlids because the rest of the African cichilds died cause my mom cleaned the tank but we had no prime, he does really well and is the king of the tank even tho he’s the smallest but I do eventually plan to make a African Cichlid tank only.
To reach their full potential and have healthy fish. If you don't have a tank big enough to keep them as adult sizes, probably shouldn't have them in the first place
Updated list of what we feed our cichlids:
- Xtreme Krill Flakes - geni.us/iTAWsN
- Xtreme Big Fella Pellets - geni.us/9Cra
- Xtreme Nice Pellets - geni.us/6ADcc

I would recommend the spirulina flakes as the base diet for mbuna. Should help avoid issues with Bloat

What do you use when you put new water in
Hi y’all, new to keeping fish. I have a dozen juvenile peacock cichlids. Twice a day feeding ok??
And getting them bigger is good for what reason? Kinda like watering a yard in the summer...you only have to mow it more.
The video talks about consistent healthy growth. Would rather not try to stunt growth for any reason
@@CichlidBros well the fish are happy...
I'm feeding my cichlids some left over betta pellets i have. The ingredients are the same as cichlid pellets.

I feed my cichlids frozen blood worms. I’ve been noticing that they get a bloated belly, any advise?
Only feed the cichlids blood worms once a week as a treat. Get a nice balanced pellet to feed on the other days(NLS, Northfin, Xtreme)
Nice tanks I feed them Cichlid gold and floating Cichlid stick by tetra
Thanks!
