    Timestamp: 0:28 "you know this is not a real subwoofer amplifier..." Really? Why? Does it amplify audio? Does it drive a sub-woofer? Then what criteria are you using to say it isn't "real"?

    In my opinion, you missed several key points.
    **point one** Most plate amps do not have an inside cover. This is for a good reason. The cover takes up valuable real-estate inside the cabinet. Also the air vibrating and pulsing inside the cabinet cools the amp. Being covered with no air circulation, an amp cooks in its own heat.
    **point two** I did buy and try a Fosi TP02 Sub Amp. The power supply that comes with it is only good for less than half power, 150 watts. It would not drive my SVS PB2000 speaker ( I could barely hear it). The larger power supplies that allow full power are intrusive looking, expensive, and do not come with the correct connection. After failing to function correctly in its original configuration, I sent it back.
    **point three** If your amp has an RCA sub pre out, the cross over frequency is already controlled. I recommend turning the plate amp's cross over frequency control on the highest setting , so as to not to double control this function.

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, I just wanted to do a quick overview and comparison of the two amps and just go over the basic functions. Yes, the cover do take up space from the internal volume of the enclosure, but in a way it does help to shield the electronic parts such as the wires and steel screws and other parts from the large magnet of the woofer. The magnet of the driver will effect the performance and the signal of the subwoofer plate amp (the electronics in the plate amp). is the woofer is too close to the amp plate.
      Yes, that's the problem with with those small Tri-path subwoofer amplifiers (such as the fosi amp) Those amps are small, but have a bit of distortion when they are pushed hard. The sound good at low levels, but at loud volume, they distort hard. And the power supply is always under powered, which does not give the full wattage as stated. Plus the fosi amp sparks when you connect the adapter to the amp (when off), that's very unsafe.
      It's always good to have a frequency controller on the amp. it will help blend in the main speakers better.
      If I have time, I may make another video of the subwoofer plated amplifier. The next video will have a more in-depth look.

      I just posted the video reply to the Dayton Audio SA70 Plate Amplifier. This time around, I tried to go over every feature that is listed on this amp and how it works. I hope this clear everything up. Here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/4fydq7ZpwHI/v-deo.html

    What amp plate would you recommend with a eminence nsw6021-6 driver? It'll be used 2-4 times a month for DJ wedding events.

      Thanks for the comment. The only amplifier I can think of that can drive that type of subwoofer driver (2000 or 2500 watts max) is the Dayton Audio SPA1000 subwoofer amp plate. It has a output of 497 watts at 8 ohms and a 950 watts at 4 ohms. that is your
      best bet.
      The Amplifier Plate can be mounted on the back of the subwoofer box. it has less heat and designed to drive sound in home theater and music playback. The amp has a high price tag of $500.

      I was searching the internet for speakers and saw some Bash Amps on sale at partsexpress.com. I forgot about this brand. They have 2 subwoofer amp plates and they are much better price. One is 300 watts for $199 and the other is 500 watts for $299. these amp plates take up less space than other because there is no back casing to them, just the PC Board and metal plate.

      Hope that helps.

    How do I connect bass Shakers the small amp.

    • @lovethatpop
      @lovethatpop  2 роки тому

      hello, thanks for the comment. You would hook-up the bass shaker the same way you would a woofer or driver to the subwoofer amplifier/amp. When you are mounting the bass shaker, make sure it is bolted to a flat surface or board so it can vibrant and make sound. If you are using 2 bass shakers, you will need two separate amplifiers. To hook up one bass shaker, you would take an RCA cable and connect it to the "Subwoofer Out" (output) of your stereo amplifier to the subwoofer amplifier or plate to the left or right of your subwoofer amp "Input". Then you connect the bass shaker to the "Speaker" Input of the subwoofer amp. That should be it. I hope that helps.

      @@lovethatpop I already have couple of bass Shakers already mounted in my other couch using a regular amp plate. The Shakers are wired in series on that one.
      But now you're saying to do the same on my other couch using the mini amp I need two of these amps to power my Shakers even though they are already wired in series?

    • @lovethatpop
      @lovethatpop  2 роки тому

      @@rindershow212 Oh ok I understand now, I didn't know what you was using for your setup. Since you have 2 bass shakers already wired to your subwoofer plate amp, you are going to wire to more bass shakers to the fosi tp02 Amp or a small amp, right? Yes, you can wire 2 bass shakers to the fosi tp02 amp. Since the fosi amp has or can handle 2ohm load, you can actually wire the bass shakers in parallel (if your bass shakers are 4 ohms each) by wiring the two 4ohm bass shakers in parallel, that would give you a 2 ohm load which should work find for that amp. By using the 2 ohm load from the amp, you will get the full or maximum wattage output (220 watts). Since you are using a plate amp and a small amp, you will need a RCA Y adapter / Splitter to connect both amps to your AV receiver sub output.

      @@lovethatpop thanks a bunch 🙏.
      Yes I already have a setup with my other couch with bass shaker and amp plate.
      I dont want to spend extra cash on another amp plate if I could use this cheaper mini amp to power a second set of bass Shakers to my other couch.
      So I guess I'm good to go . I will order this little amp to power 2 more bass Shakers to my other couch and wire them in series or parallel.
      I appreciate 🙏 you.

      @@rindershow212 You're welcome. Remember, that tiny amp has a lot of power for its size. It can drive a 12" woofer (120 watts) pretty easy. Just keep the amp volume at half way or less and you should be ok driving the bass shakers. If you need anymore help, just let me know. Good luck on your project.

    You think that the small one will have enough power for bass shakers?
    I bought one from China. It has a LPF and the output was tested so I know what I'm getting. The alternative was a plate amp from China without any reviews.

    • @lovethatpop
      @lovethatpop  Рік тому +1

      Yes, the small Fosi amp has enough power for bass shakers. The fosi amp really surprise me on the power it has. It was more than enough power to run a 12" woofer. almost to much power to run a basic 12" woofer. The fosi amp has a 200 watt output. the power is true. it also has a very good crossover, it produce very low and deep bass response. The fosi TP02 is better than the amp plate from China.

      @@lovethatpop I saw a text here on UA-cam showing it only had 50W.
      I got the Aiyima A3001 amp. It should be a bit better bit I'm still wondering if it's enough.
      Many people said that the Fosi is not enough. Even if it shakes the bass shakers it doesn't have the punch like a plate amp. Maybe because of the small power supply vs. the big capacitors in the plate amp?
