So the Dev give shaman invoke cards that out-tempo aggro decks and quest that out-value slow decks
The problem is this deck seems to be generating more cards than most classes

@Dragon heart Secret Mage is manageable but the same can be said for big priest. Just run your Polymorphs or Hexes or play aggro and everything will be fine. There's no way Big Priest is the most disgusting wild deck in 2019.

to be fair I gonna say that warlock invoke is better but Warlock Galakrond's battlecry suck
Shudderwock should have been hall of famed long time ago. It's the card I hate the most and has made me not buy any more expansions. It's basically non interactive, and works with all battlecries. Other cards that do this (such as nzoth or hunter hero) work only with deathrattles or spells, which is much more manageable. Really bad design as we keep seeing.

Hunter would have one if he hero powered instead of playing mech bear card at 10:10. He would have hero powered following turn for the dub.
He also would've won if Trump hadn't drawn the one card that gives him 20/18 rush to deal with a deathwing AND an 8/8 taunt AND a double-evolve on a 9 drop etc.
Hunter only stayed in for that long, because he got really lucky with his hero play.
I have played this deck AND the quest version - and while the quest version does slightly worse than the non-quest version, the quest version takes a big ol’ dump on the non-quest version when they meet.
And since more than half of all decks you meet are non-quest Gal-shaman, I’d say quest Gal-shaman is the best meta call atm.
Hopes they come down hard with the nerfs. Trying to play standard with this shit for the majority of games is suffering. Would not be sad if I didn’t see this deck again for the entire expac.
Why not just play the same deck, or play a deck that can counter it?

@@BrowserTroll2025 There is only one archtype according to hsreplay that has a 50%+ winrate against galakrond shaman, (holy wrath pala) which performs pretty bad against lots of non-galakrond decks, so, no.
also where's the fun in everyone playing the same deck because it's second worst matchup is that deck itself. Galakrond shaman without any doubt, needs heavy nerfs

Genesis Osuna Quest shaman was the best deck in uldum, and you saw it everywhere in every rank. Now, we have this.

Anyone remember when a 1/1 for 2 mana every turn was considered the pinnacle of inevitably? Blizz love throwing insane stuff onto hero cards nowadays.
Feels like they bundle rush onto 90% of cards nowadays too, it's a pretty good mechanic but it's starting to dominate the game to the point that feels like that's all there is now.

Quest hunter here, I have absolutely no prob with the shamans unless they get rnjesus God draw
But it's very common for them to get stupid good luck.
Galakrond Warrior here and I have no problem fighting them unless they draw insane early game. Their 0 attack minions die easily against the shear amount of rush, their token minions end up being fuel for frothing, and they have no heal or hard to remove taunt so damage sticks easy.
Looks like galakrond is the New dr boom. You keep a damn 7 drop in the Mulligan cause its that good. Only time you win against a shaman is when they dont draw galakrond fast enough.

I have a quick question since I don’t have Electra storm surge what card would be good to swap for. I was thinking earthshock to counter the 5/6 taunts however I’m thinking of mc tech as well. The battle cry package with life drinkers and barista is not half bad as well but is incredibly greedy
Shaman id gonna get destroyed no use in building any more cards for it, but since i have no respect for Shaman players please do craft a useless Legendary
mc tech is pretty strong right now, most decks you'll play against have 4 minions on board a decent amount of the time.

I been havin fun with a waxadread rouge, quite different from death rattle rouge, the endgame is a board full of waxadreads every turn forever. it so far has a pretty high win rate against shaman, though it win rate against Argo is extremely high variance.

wow, I thought such shit can ever happen only in wild. like with snip-snap lock. but god I was so wrong. this deck is not even disgusting - it's a great visualization of pure essence of stupidity and unprofessionalism contained in the heads of the team who was responsible for playtesting this new expansion before release...

Quest Hunter is at least a good counter to Galakrond Shaman. Shu'ma is a nice new card and the constant full board of cheap minions to finish the quest counters the Galakrond Shaman lack of AoE, plus the Leeroy+Unleash+Hero Power is an insane 10 mana burst burst. We all know the real counter to Galakrond Shaman is Galakrond Shaman and the inevitable nerfs incoming.

The shaman scourge has returned again. First it was 4 mana 7/7, then it was shudderwok, and now it is galakrond.

Is Shudderwock 💯 necessary in this deck? I haven’t crafted it yet and it’s going out of standard next year.. I’d rather craft a card from this year.
Most Shamans win before even needing to play shudder, it is still a good card and almost every shaman deck uses it
Watch game 1 and decide for yourself.
It's NUTS and I believe it's necessary for the mirror match. The archetype is so strong that what you want is to try and get any advantage you can over other Galakrond shamen.
That said, Blizzard is "nerfing Galakrond shaman soon™" so you might want to wait and see before you commit.

Don't craft anything for this deck. It's going to get nerfed to the ground by next week.
Shudderwock won't be needed because it's not broken (Galakrond is), so you won't get your dust back.

How is Galakrond Shaman gonna get nerfed? Because, with that play/winrate, it's probably gonna get nerfed, but how? Making the 2/1 rushes become 1/1 rushes seems good to me, but that's without thinking of the consequences. I think the "invoke twice" card is the most problematic card in the deck, since a 3/3 that comes with a 4/2 rush AND progresses Galakrond a full stage just seems busted to me. Thoughts?

If you need more draw in the deck, why not run Questing Explorer and the Quest?

Quest Hunter is legit one of the few decks with a positive win rate vs quest shaman...not much to be done when galakrond draws the nuts though
I don't understand the Electra Stormsurge in the deck at all. Something like Barista Lynchen seems better to me for the control matchups where u need the extra greed or infinite shudderwock.
Most high rank versions of this deck run either Electra or Vargoth or both. Doubling any of the spells is way better than most of the other crap people try to fit in these decks. Double Farsight/Invocation of Frost/Dragon Pack is op.

I actually had a quite high succes rate against this deck with a Zoo Galakrond Warlock deck. Often shaman lacks a bit of removal, and you just keep filling the boards with 1/1 that can be buffed.
Tbh "How about a new life" still isn`t as frustrating as "I`m in charge now" was back in the day...
