This is a super useful video. It'd be even better if you demonstrated a burn of threads from wool and synthetic carpets.
Also a quick note to viewers. I thought about snipping my carpet on the fringes as the obvious place that would go unnoticed. However, the fringe on Indian kashmir silk carpets are often made of different materials like cotton and are made with a cotton foundation. So don't go by what is on the fringe.
Good point! Yes, fringes can be made of a different material than the rest of the area rug.
