Same. I have no fear for bees at all because tons of them fly around my yard all the time and I've never been stung once no matter how close I get to them when they are pollinating the flowers. Wasps on the other hand scare the hell out of me. I guess we just tend to fear the things we don't know about.
The only way I could ever feel comfortable being a bee keeper is by wearing medieval leather armor, covered by chainmail armor, topped by plate armor, and yeah I'd still probably get stung...lol
It's even worse because they may enter inside that armor and it's not like u can tore it apart alone and in 2 seconds like moving a t-shirt. You'd hear "FATALITY" in the background XD
One of my worst fears is bees. Bigger than spiders, snakes, heights, the dark, or even death. (Ironically, my second worst fear is needles). You helped me. A lot. I might rethink my fear.
But I do feel uncomfortable because I'm wearing headphones, and when they come for the camera, it feels like they're actually coming for me and it scares me.
I like snakes but bugs of any kind wern't my thing. Actually gave me the creeps. Quite honestly to beat this when I got my hives: I went out everyday with a coffee, Baily's and coffee or a beer and a lawn chair and just sat at a distance watching the activity. I was always wearing a jacket of some type and the odd bee would land on my arm, I'd watch it cleaning it's self then it would fly off. After awhile I could do it without the jacket. But soon the distance prevented me from seeing specific details of things happening at the entrance so literally it was a entirely natural progression. What's that? you lean forward. What's going on there? you lean forward. Then you lean back well shit cant see nothing. Move up so I can see better leaning back. Couple weeks of that and I was damn near on top of the hive to get a better look. If you don't have bees then you can always take some sugar water and place it in a shallow container with a bunch of stones so they can feed and not drown and observe that. Same thing they land on ya then clean and sun themselves for awhile before flying off. It's how we fix any fear. Face it with baby steps. When I used to have snakes I can't even say how many people came over that were terrified but could hold them by the time they walked out.
Bullets don’t actually hurt, bullets only hurt you when you start to stress out after getting shot, the feeling of a bullet hitting you is just a vibration. Getting stabbed by a knife hurts 10 times more
@@gdtxxq0620 feeling of a bullet is just vibration.... have you heard of a hallow point exploding into a star shape upon impact, ripping flesh and bone as it enters? You're crazy haha
I’m deathly afraid of anything that is “bee-like” and have a stinger, but I also respect them for the role they play in nature (especially the honeybees). Though, you’re braver than I would be sitting there (I’d react more like a spooked horse if I see one flying close to me)
This is amazing. I’m so scared of bees I always run and scream when I see one near me because heaps of times I’ve seen their butts pulsing like they wanna sting me.
They move their butts, but they're not trying to sting you. If one stings you, you will NOT see it coming. When they want to sting, oh-buddy, they'll do it instantly. They don't land, ponder, shake, then sting, they land & sting instantly. Also, they'll curl their body a BUNCH while they're stinging. Try this. Put out a little bowl of damp sugar outside a window that you can view them feed. Watch them closely. You'll see how they move.
I’m trying to get over my phobia because I’m an outdoor enthusiasts, so it’s hard being able to enjoy the outdoors when I’m constantly looking over my shoulder every time I hear something similar to a bee (like a fly or any flying incesct). I’m not afraid of flys or other bugs like that, but when I hear one I automatically assume it’s a bee and freak out untill I realize it’s not one. ive delt with this sense I was young. This video alone is enough to get my heart rate up. The noise they all make and the swarming. It’s crippling. It’s been better but when I was a child I wasn’t able to come outside if I saw ONE wasp/bee. They freak me out so much
I never realized how many yellow jackets were around until this late part of the year in my first year of beekeeping. I have 3 hives and the amount of yellow jackets around them is crazy. I made one of your traps and it is working. My wife was terrified when i said I was going to start bee keeping, now she gets mad if I go out to work them without her.
When I had my hive in my back yard, and had coffee or tea watching them from a foot away in a chair, they were so gentle and I could do anything with them, even inspect frames and they didn't care. When I had to move the hive to a farm, they turned into beeyotches because I wasn't around them all the time.
Very interesting! As someone who has always been fearful of bees, wasps, hornets, etc.... I would freak out anytime a bee flew by me. After seeing this video, I'll definitely think twice about my reaction to bees. I know they're essential for the ecosystem, so, I'll definitely try to face my fears when it comes to bees!
This guy basically cured my INSANELY intense phobia of bees. Watching him wave his hands around that much without being stung and learning more about bees as a whole just helped alot. The only thing I'm still afraid of is those black/brown paper wasps. I've only ever been stung by those and those are the same ones ive seen being so agressive that they try to sting the windows. Etc lol If i could understand THAT logic, that'd be great 👍 😂 But seriously before watching this (and therapy, admittedly), i was so scared just to go outside in warm weather. Like at all. I would see a bee from a mile away and shake and RUN to my car. I HATED camping because all i could think about was the possibility of a bee getting near me. It was a miserable depressing life. This guys videos were the single most biggest help though for beating that fear. It's just so educational and the fact that i can literally just visually see him interacting peacefully with bees without one single hint of fear/concern.. is extremely awakening lol Thank you for these videos! If you do one on wasps specifically, link it?? Haha 😅
I got 2 small feeders for the backyard. Now when they are empty, one will come land on me when I'm out front. Really scared me at first. Now I know he's just a scout letting me know the feeders are empty. Really freaks out the neighbors, but I think it's so cool. Will be looking into a beginner hive soon. Great video!
Let me tell you that ground dwelling yellow jackets need no provocation. If you are close enough to see the nest entrance, you are in eminent danger. They will even attack
The only good yellow jacket is a dead one! A gallon of gasoline poured into its hole, in the ground, after dark, is a great solution for them sons of bitches. but do not and I say again do not throw a match on that son of a bitch after you do so . Lol I have first hand experience at that, weeeeee the surprise is unlimited
It's because of the ground vibration caused by anything near. I've taken out more wasps and hornet nests in my life then can be counted. I only got stung once and that was from a under ground nest near a big tube playground slide in a park I was managing. I got the nest complaint and went there and those wasps were livid because of all the kids activity I took that single sting at over 100' from the nest. I had no choice but to go back after dark to destroy the nest cause there was no way to get any where near them during the day. That was the only hive of any kind of stinging insects I've ever come across that I would categorize as aggressive. They are all defensive but at 100' there was no way I had disturbed them. I had 3 after me instantly at that distance. Ive taken out hornets nests the size of basket balls without even wearing gloves but that one wasp nest was an entirely different animal all together. Was the second of only two hives that I couldn't take out in daylight. oddly, the other one was extremely defensive honey bees.
I got stung for no reason as a child by a bee while playing outside... been scared of bees since then. A classmate was told to stand still while a bee was flying near him and landed on him, guess what? He was stung on his neck. Yep, the scare of bees got more real after that day.
What's even worse is every decision is a bad one. You get it mad, they can chase you for over a QUARTER OF A MILE. If you kill it, it gives out a scent that attracts MORE bees. If you relax and leave it be, guess what? It somehow thinks you're a threat and stings you. NO WINNING lol
I love these 'close up with the bees" videos! Has really helped me to see the gentle side of bees. Has made a world of difference, David, so thank you very much! You are a really great ambassador for the bees. Bless you!
Watched your video to get over my fear of bees because I love gardening and bees are in the garden. But even watching your video made my heart race. I will try and keep your suggestions in mind the next time I’m in the garden.
Thank you for this video. I used to be terrified of bees, wasps, etc. I'm still overcoming my fear of wasps, but I now adore bees and the work they do!
Thank you Mr bee whisperer. I specifically searched how not to be afraid of bees and I'm not even a beekeeper. I'm just a girl who is afraid of bees like crazy. I live out in the country in California and they're crazy right now and I'm afraid to even go outside to do my laundry and hang my clothes because the bees are everywhere outside their hives not around here but they're just flying around enjoying the day you know and doing what they do and now I know that I shouldn't be afraid of him and I could be totally calm, cool and collected and not worry about a thing. Thank you so much! God bless you Mr. 🐝 Whisperer
Today I was sitting outside with my mom bc she told me to and their were two bees roaming around me and I busted out crying cause I was scared and my mom laughed, so now I’m here
I love that my family are not the only one who love bees! Even my young kids feed wild bees by hand:) never had a hive but watching you makes me want one
I trust and love bees. They felt like a protection against wasps too. There used to be a bee nest in my garden earlier this year, not a single wasp, but now they're gone and the wasps are back. I'm really scared because those wasps are really intimidating and aggressive and will attack even though I'm sitting still.
At 1:28 I about fainted (literally) due to the close buzz sound only being in one ear. (I live in a cabin that keeps getting wasps in it and they land on me, buzzing like that is a bad sign.) Man I wish I could conquer this phobia.
Thanks for the video, always informative. My husband was stung on the finger. He swelled from his waist up and had itching all over. Suddenly he said he could not hear and his throat began to swell. 4 benadrly, 2 Advil, and a fast trip to Ergent care and it finally began to subside. We realized that each time he was stung before that day the reaction had gotten a little worse each time. It's Full bee suites for us with gloves and epi pens in our pockets. Susan NW Georgia
My wife got stung by a wasp today and I told her it's good luck and stay calm as I made a paste with a mashed up aspirin. It went up her dress and stung her near the arm pit. I put an ice cold wet rag on the other side of her body to distract her from the pain. Then I put the ice cold rag over the sting with the aspirin on it . She never got stung by a wasp or felt that kind of pain. I have. It's like a red hot needle but the pain subsided after about 10 mins. I think its good luck to get stung because it boost your immune response and white blood cell production. Or maybe I made that up? Not sure but I'm not afraid of bees and wasp at all because I know fear only make them sting you. I like people that teach others that teach about the importance of all these real essential workers. Thank you and good work!
This video was really helpful. I get nauseated and start tearing up anytime I hear the buzzing and we have a lot of carpenter bees right where I park. I loved the information about how weather affects their mood. I’m hoping watching these videos and taking his advice can help me conquer it. I’ve got babies and they are not afraid of them at all. Hoping I don’t change that
From my somewhat nerdy chemists point of novice bee keeping view, I see the late season pollen feeding the same as a "Bear's" need of putting on fat to survive winter. A very similar parallel can be seen as the healthiest and strongest bears each spring, are those which were well fed before going into winter hibernation. It's long been documented bees which maintain higher fat in their systems also are less stressed during their wintering over. Nature tells us all we need to know - we just need to keep eyes open to what she shows us. ~Merry Christmas and God Bless~
i have the fear of bees And they are all over theme parks that i go to! This helped so much! Whenever like i go to the drink stalls there are hundreds of bees there 💀
Love it! I try and explain these facts to many people who have a fear for whatever reason. I was attacked by a swarm as a child due to disturbing their hive(it wasnt visible). I had to do research and overcome a fear of them. Outside of serious allergies, it's completely possible to do so!
Hey thank you for this video, seriously. I've had a life long fear of bees, wasps, anything that stings. I got stung in the toe by a yellowjacket, felt like I stepped on a hot nail that went through my foot. My leg turned red and swelled 3 times its size all the way up to my hip, and stayed that way for 3 days. After that I was terrified of anything that stings because I thought well if it can do that to me getting on my foot what if it gets me in the neck. I always thought they sting for no reason. But watching this and looking back, I remember I was by the hive unknowningly (they had made a nest under our back door) and I was wearing sandals and didn't see it and kicked it by accident. Still, when one lands on me I'm one of those people who flap around and sprint down the road lol. But I was amazed watching this and the yellow jacket video, everyone else has always done it in suits. While I wouldn't go out of my way to go near any stinger still lol the fact you can wave your hand around and not get stung, can't say I won't still be afraid of them but I think now I have the ability to act like a grown adult if one lands on me and not go sprinting for the hills LOL. Thanks a bunch for this!
Good video. Glad you explained not wearing a bee suit isn't absolutism. It a choice to be made only with ample experience and comfort and trust of the specific bees you are working with. No one is judging anyone. When I got my bees i was big time nervous about them. What I did was go out every day with a patio chair and just sit off to the side and watch them from about 4' away, then slowly moved closer as I myself became more comfortable. Soon I could sit right beside it and be inches away. Bees would land on me and I'd watch them clean themselves then they'd leave. and this actually killed two birds with one stone because the wasps and hornets pestering the hive did also. The thing is I knew I had a very strong and reflexive swat instinct that I had to get rid of. I recognized instantly that the reflex would not serve me well in this job. I kept flinching. But I won't lie it took awhile. I will be damned Honest. I have never found anything more interesting and relaxing than to grab a beer or coffee and just sit close to the hive and watch the activity at the front of the hive. Extremely educational I too thought Honey bees try to kill anything on the landing board but it's not true. They have a line. Some things cross that line and the attack is sudden and extremely overwhelming. Bumble bees and caterpillars don't usually survive. Wasps Hornets and ants they'll chase away and bite but it's rare to see a full on stinging attack. Flies on the other hand is full on entertainment. It's not an attack at all it's a game and it goes on until the fly gets caught or the bee grows tired. Then it takes off un harmed. I'd say the flies are the young bees defense and flight training. They literally make small challenge pounces toward a fly or run after it. the flies are in on it also. Because a fly will target that bee for some catch me if you can. If the fly gets caught then they leave cause it's no fun anymore if the bee gets tired then the fly tries other bees to get the same response. some times they are successful at finding another play mate but many times the remaining guards are older ones and they don't play. Fly pushes it's luck too much with them and then you see the fly escaping for it's life and doesn't return for awhile. I could literally sit for hours and watch the landing board. At first it was to get over my fear and to learn more about normal bee behavior so I could spot problems. But these aren't just mindless bugs doing their specific tasks. There are individual acts and behaviors that caught me off guard. Older guards move little and slowly stand just at the edge of the hive and check the bees coming in right by them. The young guard will come out and take it's turn and it's trying to check every damn bee coming into the hive. They are chasing and jumping on ones they miss or jump up an tackle ones flying in above them cause they are too far out from the door. Are these actions training? I don't know but it's awful fun to watch. As you say commercial producers do use protein patties in the fall to ensure their bees come out in spring as strong as possible. ((((AS WE DON"T HAVE HIVE BEETLES HERE))))I use protein patties on my hives most of the time. if they need it they take it. I find if there is a good pollen flow they barely touch the Pattie but as the flow tapers off they use it more and more. The reason I use it is because this is food not just for brood but also the bees. I'm not trying to kid anyone that the pattie is as good as actual bee bread because it's not. That is exactly why I use it. If the bees are feeding off of my pattie then they aren't feeding off of the limited bee bread. The most important thing a beekeeper needs is strong healthy brood. Spring and fall are crucial. The patties can prevent starvation if they run out of bee bread but more importantly it extends the bee bread availability for the brood. My hives have patties in all winter.I've seen lots of folks doing autopsies of hives with no pollon. When I saw that i figured there was no harm putting the hives to bed for winter with a couple pounds of pattie on them to be sure. As I said, we don't have hive beetles here so there is no harm.
I live in an apartment complex where there’s multiple entrances for each building and mine has the most amount of flowers and there’s mostly bumblebees. But growing has helped me get over my fear. Now watching this will hopefully help me more during the up coming summer soon.
You have to learn a time and place when keeping bees. Sometimes I could inspect my hives in my birthday suit. Other days I could barely be protected if I was in a Abrams’ Tank! But I know from experience what day it is in the bee yard. 😂
lol one time I was in a car with the window down and a yellow jacket straight up crawled on my leg then about 20 seconds later it flew back outside the reason it didn't sting me (thank god it didn't) was because I was just sitting there and the yellow jacket knew I wouldn't kill him so he just hanged out on my leg for about 20 seconds. No reason to be scared of bees unless it is a wasp, the only species of Wasp that only stings when threatened is the Red Paper Wasp, but if they sting you a few times you can die from them, I can hang around a bee all day and it won't sting me.
Lol once every time I saw a bee outside I started literally running for my life and it kept going in a cycle cause I see one bee, start running like it’s the zombie apocalypse, can’t catch my breath, finally feel like I can stop, see another bee and start running again. I looked it up and it turns out bees feel a bit threatened when you start running away and might follow you and sting you so I’m very lucky 😢
Today was my best day in years!!!! I was sad for 3 years because I haven't seen a wasp or bee in 3 years! Even when I go out searching for them there wasn't any. Today was a little cold... and a small bee landed on my clothes because it had a hard time flying because it was cold. I offered the cute little bee my warm hand to sit on and warm up so he could fly again. The cute little bee didn't have to think about it for even 1 second.. it walked on my hand right away! It could feel my love for them! The little bee was a 100% relaxed and happy to warm up on my hand. You can see that if you look at the body language of a bee. Sitting low... flat wings pointed backwards. It wasn't in alert mode... it was in chill mode. And the bee looked me straight in the eyes. It warmed up for 15 minutes on my hand before flying away! I'm so so happy to see and interact with a bee again after years of not seeing a single one!😁 I also handle wasps with no form of protection when I see them. If you know everything about these amazing animals and treat them with respect and offer them food the chance of getting a sting is less than half a %. Indeed.... it's never a 100% safe. But the more you know about how to act and handle them the smaller the chance will get. Me personally... I never got stung ever when handling wasps and bees🤷😎
I'm really trying to get over my fear of bees since I'm starting a garden and I want to eventually try to own bees for honey, but so far I still run away when I see anything flying towards me. Plus since I got curly hair, these guys follow me like im a walking flower
I have an intense fear if bees, wasps, hornets and all those kinds of bugs. There was one inside my house before and I locked myself in my room crying because of how intense my fear is. So when I saw this brave guy just sit there with bees flying everywhere I just squealed and ran away. THIS GUY IS CRAZY BRAVE!
I can relate one time it was a hornet in my house in the bathroom. I did not go into the restroom until my husband came home. Then when he opened the door the hornet was dead in my toddlers potty. God he will help you over come your fear. Pray about it.
When I see bees I'm always running to them to play with them. Wasps love me too. They like sitting and sunning on my shoulder. I have giant flower bushes that bees love.
We had a wasp nest that was on our light fixture when you went out the front door. They go to know that the door opening we were going in or out and the would not bother us. We just left them alone and had no issues. I would even say good morning to them. I think they decided to move on there own to the door always opening. Love this video!
PS. I should say that when I bought my Commercial hives in june I decided to run them like commercial hives but with a personal touch because I only have two. Management wise no one can doubt or deny the production. Their bees can't be unhealthy or mismanaged or abused and still double the output most honey producers get. I was lucky. I found a commercial honey producer running up to 1400 hives a year. He is in the province next to me and he has a youtube channel. For the last couple years he has done many subject based videos such as running through a year of single hive management. This year he literally did videos on his day to day management explaining and showing in detail how and why and when for each step. As he gets pretty much all of our weather a day after we do. It's been great. It takes him time to do anything with that many hives so I not only see what, why and when but also the critical window to get things done. He shows exactly how they super charge the hives population and performance to pull 200 to 250 Lbs of honey off of a single hive. They basically create a two packed 10 frame box brood hive. Then constrict it to one just at the start of the main flow and give them supers to fill instead of swarming. The Huge number of bees creates a single wall to wall 10 frame brood box with a full 10 frame hive population of bees foraging and storing. That's how their production is so high. It's double the bees in a single hive. I recommend his channel to anyone if they want to learn how the big boys do it. He's the only commercial guy I've ever found going into detail on the operation. It's free it's honest and it's open. "Canadian Beekeepers Blog" look under the video tab for content. ua-cam.com/channels/kQVs6-xm3mVNdwW4Zt8McQ.html He doesn't go right in to the details of how to graft or things like that. Because there are tons of great channels already doing things like that. Such as this one. The info I've gotten from barn yard or FBM or 629 dirt rooster or abbybees has been critical to intricate specific details of micro how to management. I use tricks and techniques from each of these people. I big time appreciate the charity of all of these people with their expertise. Their words are pure gold and result in pure gold. I don't at all mind stepping on toes because no one and everyone is right and wrong. If I'm stepping on toes it's cause they shouldn't be there. It's about advice and ideas to grow and learn and not about ideology and criticism to silence and restrict ideas and growth. Bees are shaking it rough. Ideas practices and clear results count. Opinions are useless.
I was stung by a bee in my eye when I was 3. I'm so afraid of bees that I will shake if someone says there's a bee in the room, even if there isn't. But this did help, by the end I wasn't scared of the sound.
I’m terrified of most all insects, but especially the stinging kind. However, my 12 yr old son was stung on the back of his tongue when he was 5 (had a juice outside and set it down; the bee was on the straw). He’s worked, on his own, for years to be less afraid of them. Seeing him working to accept natures insects, give me courage to not absolutely freak out when they are remotely close to me.
🙈🐝 I've always been deathly afraid of bees and the last couple days i've had to catch and release a couple big ones (i think they're bees; hopefully not hornets) inside my home. It was so scary i thought i was going to faint! and i've been worried there'll be more...so this video makes me feel more brave. Thank you!! 🌸👍
David, First year beekeeper in Blaine WA. It's clear and cold up here. 31degrees. This first season, my break it was my friend. One of my mentors suggested I put some flagging tape or a wind sock with blue, green and yellow on it out in front of the hive a few feet. Bees see those colors best and the hive gets accustomed to the motion so they aren't so defensive when people come around. I think I was only stung twice all summer
Well, I agree about bees. They are cool, and as long as I don't hurt any of them, they have no reason to sting me. Wasps are different through. They will harass you while you are working and do their VERY BEST to land on you as many times as they can until they are bored of you (something bees don't do), and when you eventually move in such a way that they feel threatened, they sting. I held a concert in a church a couple of days ago, and one wasp was harassing me non stop, while I just stood still with my guitar. It landed on me again and again, and sure enough it HAD to land between my body and my guitar as well, get stuck there and sting it's way out. Horrible little nasties!! Bees are neat, because they don't care about YOU the way wasps do, they just want their pollen and that's it :)
I was never scared to let them all land on me and they would all just fly away. Then landed on the back of my head and letter rip. Now i am terrified. Ty for the encouragement though.
Been stung a few times in life - it’s always been by disturbing them. Over the last several years I’ve gotten used to being around them and now have no problem with them because I leave them alone. I can have a few of them around me, even land on me, and like this fella says, I just stay calm and they don’t sting me. Seems like if you freak out then you’re more likely to get stung. I’ve even had numerous yellow jacket around me on various occasions. I just stay calm and slowly move on and they haven’t touched me. For the record, I have a mild bee-sting allergy but nothing serious. Not sure about yellow jackets, since I’ve yet to be stung.
A bee accidentally flew through my window pretty deep into my house. Then it immediately went back to the window as if it was aware of its mistake. Unlike a fly or something ya know? I felt so bad after killing it I literally could’ve just opened the window a little wider. I was surprised at how intelligent it was but didn’t notice until was too late….you’d think we’d be nicer to them since they’re responsible for over 70% of our food. This video helps a lot, thanks!
That was great , calm advice.. big thumbs up!…just stumbled on this after sadly watching a bumble bee hive unnecessarily destroyed on another channel. I’m allergic to wasp/yellowjackets myself for sure and presumably bees would give me the same reaction so i do have an inbuilt fear but at the same time I understand how important they are in the life cycle and food chains. I normally stay calm when bees/wasps are around but my biggest problem is when friends start swiping and screaming and then the bees/normally wasps get aggressive! If I was not allergic I would definitely have started bee keeping years ago on my land, it’s fascinating stuff!
Greetings from Algeria. Thanks for these videos. I'm not afraid of bees for two main reasons: We have a plant that covers the huge wall of my uncle's house in Algiers. That plant blossoms in late spring and early summer and as it does this, it attracts tons of bees, bumblebees and wasps. I can hear them buzzing (almost the way they do in your video) as they're collecting pollen from the tiny flowers of that plant. You can hardly see them because of the density of that plant's leaves. They almost never get into our house. They stay in the yard. They also come down to the floor to drink water (puddles of water left in the yard after we're doing using the inflatable swimming pool). The second reason I'm not afraid of bees is this: I regularly go to pastry shops, especially in Ramadan (the holy month in Islam) and man, those places are true beeyards in my country. They're attracted by the traditional and modern pastries as well as the ice cream machines. The shop assistants get stung sometimes but they're used to it. I've asked some of them when and why they get stung and they almost always tell me that it's when they try to catch a bee with their fingers (sometimes to save them!) that they get stung :-) What about you? Do you get stung while you're filming your videos?
I know this is an old video but I wanted to say, when you talked about feeding, in 2024 now there are hundreds of videos from giant growers feeding pollen and ,ore and discussing their feeding regimes and why. 👏 ahead of the time
I'm an Amazon delivery driver who has the worst fear of bees. And today, I was delivering packages to an apartment complex that I deliver to regularly, but springtime has recently just begun, and one of the trees on the complex is blooming like crazy, and all I could hear is a constant hum. The sounds in this video is what this tree sounded like. I'm now dreading going back to that complex until spring ends. Note to self, if a tree or bush or any plant like thing is humming, just completely avoid going near it
and i had a yellow jacket in my hand i freaked out and flung it cause of my anxiety and it just left me aloe it was gentle for real i think it was in my hand in my lap for shade
While watching this video, a fly buzzed in my ear and I never screamed so hard in my entire life
Fly saw you watching this video and was like "I'm gonna do what's called a pro gamer move"
I'm weak lmao 😆😆
😂😂
One time me n my cousin were walking in the backyard and a wasp stung em on his ankle
That ipad flew Right into the ceiling..
Me: breathes
Wasps: So, you have chosen death
😂this is so true 😂
Exactly
I know right?!
Best comment. You made me laugh bruh

Same. I have no fear for bees at all because tons of them fly around my yard all the time and I've never been stung once no matter how close I get to them when they are pollinating the flowers. Wasps on the other hand scare the hell out of me. I guess we just tend to fear the things we don't know about.
Gday brother
The only way I could ever feel comfortable being a bee keeper is by wearing medieval leather armor, covered by chainmail armor, topped by plate armor, and yeah I'd still probably get stung...lol
It's even worse because they may enter inside that armor and it's not like u can tore it apart alone and in 2 seconds like moving a t-shirt. You'd hear "FATALITY" in the background XD
Lol...lol....lol 😂🤣😂🤣
😂😂
It's impossible to take that armor off without some one to help you with so good luck if bee's get in
🤣
Beautifully said.
Same, both of those are my biggest fears

This is amazing. I’m so scared of bees I always run and scream when I see one near me because heaps of times I’ve seen their butts pulsing like they wanna sting me.
WhyDoThisTo TheBro why are you looking at their butts?
They move their butts, but they're not trying to sting you. If one stings you, you will NOT see it coming. When they want to sting, oh-buddy, they'll do it instantly. They don't land, ponder, shake, then sting, they land & sting instantly. Also, they'll curl their body a BUNCH while they're stinging.
Try this. Put out a little bowl of damp sugar outside a window that you can view them feed. Watch them closely. You'll see how they move.
Ah yes the bee twerk

Bro, I don’t really give a crap about bees. But, WASPS, it’s like they fr like to hurt you since they can sting more than once 😭😭💀😂

When I had my hive in my back yard, and had coffee or tea watching them from a foot away in a chair, they were so gentle and I could do anything with them, even inspect frames and they didn't care. When I had to move the hive to a farm, they turned into beeyotches because I wasn't around them all the time.
Sometimes I feel like a wasp wants to sting someone for no reason
Because they do
there are psychopaths in every species
Bees sting when they think they're gonna die, Wasps sting when you're in their way.
Wasps, yes they do sometimes sting for no good reason, for they are aggressive. Bees aren't aggressive, but will defend their hives if attacked.

They will even attack
and everyone says Africanized bees are bad.
@3172iedmagnet T Ya, one problem. I was maintenance manager of the entire park. Skunks were my problem also. Wasps and hornets are much easier.
Try running over a ground dwelling yellow jacket nest with a lawnmower.....
I got stung for no reason as a child by a bee while playing outside... been scared of bees since then. A classmate was told to stand still while a bee was flying near him and landed on him, guess what? He was stung on his neck. Yep, the scare of bees got more real after that day.
Same, loved bees until that one day in kindergarten, a wasp landed on me and stung me for no reason, didn't even bother it. Fuck that wasp.

@@peppersanches412 It might have been *Law of attraction*
What's even worse is every decision is a bad one. You get it mad, they can chase you for over a QUARTER OF A MILE. If you kill it, it gives out a scent that attracts MORE bees. If you relax and leave it be, guess what? It somehow thinks you're a threat and stings you. NO WINNING lol

It's crazy how we humans are afraid of tiny things like bee's. But I'm still dipping if I see a wasp.
I started crying in that part

Thanks for the video, always informative.
My husband was stung on the finger. He swelled from his waist up and had itching all over. Suddenly he said he could not hear and his throat began to swell. 4 benadrly, 2 Advil, and a fast trip to Ergent care and it finally began to subside. We realized that each time he was stung before that day the reaction had gotten a little worse each time.

Did you try any other OTC cream or spray that can be used as a repellent?
Hoping I don’t change that
*THANK YOUUUUUU!!!!!*

Beautiful bees. They are so miraculous in all that they do.

Ordered my barnyards the other day..looking forward to spring👍👍

Omg if there is a bee outside I run and scream and cry
I grew up near honey bee boxes, when i was like 5 or 6 i would sit in front of the boxes for hours and it was really relaxing. Ya i was a bored kid.
I do tree work and deal with wasps a lot they really don't bother us but yellow jacket's are relentless
I want to experience this. It is as if you are chosen, something holy and majestic

He doesn't go right in to the details of how to graft or things like that.
In the eye!? Holy crap how did you manage to get it so sting you in your eye!?
I got stung on the chest
I’m terrified of most all insects, but especially the stinging kind. However, my 12 yr old son was stung on the back of his tongue when he was 5 (had a juice outside and set it down; the bee was on the straw). He’s worked, on his own, for years to be less afraid of them. Seeing him working to accept natures insects, give me courage to not absolutely freak out when they are remotely close to me.
Whenever i see a bee i sprint full speed and seeing bees makes my skin crawl
A more power to .....you really understand them 🐝🐝🐝
You rock. Well done, Sir!
Thank you!! 🌸👍
David,
First year beekeeper in Blaine WA.

Im in the uk and thats my goal,to know my bees that well👍
Well, I agree about bees.
I know I’m late but I really appreciate this video. Thank you 😊
There's literally a wasp in my house.

I have a huge fear of bees
I found a bee in my room I would of ran across town but we have to self isolate
Been stung a few times in life - it’s always been by disturbing them. Over the last several years I’ve gotten used to being around them and now have no problem with them because I leave them alone. I can have a few of them around me, even land on me, and like this fella says, I just stay calm and they don’t sting me. Seems like if you freak out then you’re more likely to get stung. I’ve even had numerous yellow jacket around me on various occasions. I just stay calm and slowly move on and they haven’t touched me.
For the record, I have a mild bee-sting allergy but nothing serious. Not sure about yellow jackets, since I’ve yet to be stung.
question: if you scream and run from a wasp will it try to sting you?
That was an awesome video with the bees buzzing all around you. Very Cool !!!!
You are awesome no doubt about that......you rock!!!
Bee loves me and I know them too
I really hate Yellowjacket🐝 because they're not like!!!
OcOmega Shadow I hate you.
