In this weeks episode me and Lauren head up to North Wales to attend Hampson classic car auction. The sale is hosted at Mavericks as they have plenty of space to offer & a great cafe too! The cars at this classic car auction were just to my taste, with lots of fords and minis going under the hammer, I was in my element.
The layout of the location is great, with some cars out the front, some inside the main bidding room & others out the back in a big tent. Although Hampson Auctions don't provide any catalogs, they do have huge write ups on all the cars and they provide a running order too. This was a free entry sale, you can simply turn up and have a browse. One thing I particularly liked about this auction was if a vehicle sold as provisional, the team worked quickly behind the scenes to come to an agreement and would announce they have sold during the rest of the auction.
Overall this was a very friendly & organised auction, everyone felt equal and welcomed. I will definitely be returning in the future.
Sellers fees are FREE, with the venders receiving 100% of the hammer price. Buyers fees are set at 12.5% + VAT

My old long dead neighbour up the road had a Lotus Cortina in the early 1980s when i was still in junior high school. Always loved the look of them.

Another great video, thanks for putting on the sale prices. I had an identical 205 GTi back in the mid 90’s and traded it in for about £3000 if I remember correctly. If only eh!! Keep up the great work and thanks for putting in the miles to cover these auctions

What a lot of people seem to forget about the escorts and stuff and the Rs Turboa is that the mileage only went up to 100,000 or just under and then it restarted again so a lot of these cars have actually been round the clock and when it all went over to digital online MOT‘s there was nothing from the old days so a lot of these cars are well over 100,000 miles
I dare say your right, but some classics you can view the mot’s back and if the mileage goes up in small increments then the mileage usually is genuine 👍🏻
Mitch, you’re seriously gonna get me into trouble keep showing all these Minis 😱. One day temptation will get the better of me. Not sure the Mrs will understand 😅

I had a blue mk2 like yours 👍🏻 £300. I remember buying a mk2 ghia for £50 and an xr2 for £50 each both rotters but done me a turn :) I paid £225 for a mini back in the day, awesome memories:)

Never been to a car auction in my life but would have bought the black mk 3 escort rs1600i and now been divorced 👌🏻. Keep it up mate , really good watch

Great vidio in the I owned a Mk 1 escort 1300 XL a 2 ltr Granada L a Mk 2 1300 Cortina a Mk 3 1600 Cortina a Mk 2 , 2ltr Carpri another mk 3 2ltr Cortina estate, Ford zephyr 4 and finally a 1962 Ford consul showing my age now lol

15 k for an original 1.6 205 GTI that's awesome. I have a fast road, track car 1.9 205 GTI graphite grey with 2.0 ltr engine with modified suspension, many rare parts etc and the floor pan all painted with Epsom paint used on boats. Engine bay repainted. It will not rust using that stuff. It's a non sun roof with zender front n rear bumper looks awesome. So because of this I know in another 10 years its gonna be worth loads of money. Its a 1992 non cataliq converter,

£19,000 back in yr 2000.
23 yrs ago.
S/Roof was £1,000 option. ALL Singing & All Dancing Top of The Range Model.
And the bmw 318 IS is special being an IS uprated everything its quick realy quick being an IS,very collectable .

Bmw 318is is a sport injection. I had one but a common fault was the top end on the engine would split as it was an ally head. Mine cost me 2 grand to get done.😢

prices seemed realistic for the normal cars
RS1600i + lotus tina for me, liked the mk1 fester- my first car, CCN 704V, 2yrs old, £2500 inc. finance, nearly bankrupted me... [especially after spending 2k on genuine rallye sport parts at the local ford parts dept.] those were the days you NEVER got your money back... don't bother looking, died in germany on tour with a squaddie, was very fast up to 80mph

mk1 bubble arches.15:40.all i saw was the wheel nearly rubbing the back..somethings not right.the mk3 fiesta with 34k miles..meanwhile the seats look like they have done 134k
Agreed when I look back on the video the arches do look out of line with the wheels! 👍🏻

the E36 bm was the nuts ive had 2 of them but not like that one it is mint the white mk 1 looked odd mitch wheels looked to far back .the brown one was nice .anyway it was a great video fella

used to get a lift to my work in a lotus cortina exactly like the one shown back in 1977ish but was a bit young to appreciate it, I knew it was special just not how special though
That’s so cool, love hearing memories like this! When I went to school the caretaker had a mk2 xr2 and I never realised how obsessed I would be over classic fords once I left school!

Thanks Mitch for another great video, I do not think there was anything I did not like, some of the minis went cheap and I would like especially liked the Lotus Cortina, my Dad had a 1950s ford consul with a 3-speed column gear change.
