If I had the room it would be dangerous mate! All my attention is aimed towards getting the Mk2 Escort on the road but once that's finished I'll need another project 👀
I loved this video! I’m in my 40s so all of these cars took me back. I had an XR3 back in the very early 90s when I was a relatively new driver. It was white with black livery. I saw it for sale on someone’s driveway and it had been stood there for a year or two. The front shocks and springs were knackered and the front end was almost on the ground. There was moss all over it and mould over the interior, but apart from that there was amazingly absolutely zero rot or rust. The guy only wanted £100! So I gave him £90 and my dad towed me the 9 miles home. Totally unsafe and illegal as the brakes were terrible and it was a Herculean task to steer it. Anyway, after a few bottles of T-Cut, a lot of TLC, second hand shocks and springs from a scrappy (£10 each) and a new interior I found for sale in the newspaper, it was looking fantastic. I even refurbed the clover leaf alloys myself properly and steam cleaned under the bonnet. I remember that it was £1000 to insure the car I payed £90 for, and that was in about 1992! Loved that car so much and felt fantastic driving it around. The twin carb engine was pretty quick for its time too. Looking at this auction, I wish I had kept it, but I sold it after about 9 months for £850.
Sir, you have a girlfriend I really respect! I’m in my 70’s so know all these cars from first time round so am grateful that future generations like yourself are still interested in that era.

Hi Glyn, I don't believe the bar has been lowered, I simply believe that more cars have fell under the bracket of a 'classic'. The term classic car is determined by age of the vehicle, not what someones personal preference is.
The Cortina i love is the mk3 2litre GT fitted with the none standard V6 3 litre engine and it would have to be in sunburst orange. Ive had ten Cortina's five of which were mk3's. As an old guy with a long history of classic cars it amazes me today what people consider a classic. The bar has certainly been lowered.
It’s not the cars Glyn ! It’s the customers are so much younger and what they call a classic is usually totally different to what maybe you and I do !
You're right Jim. I think they are confused between 'classic' and 'collectable'. And E type is a classic, an Austin Princess is collectable.

Is there ever a Talbot Ti comes up?
What a fantastic video! A few years ago I used to sell imported fords. I look forward to binging on your other videos!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Lots more auction content to come 👍🏻
The prices are so low!! I live Northampton and classic auctions are crazy! When is the next one up there mate?
The website states 280123
He told you at the end 🤦
Hello mate, I did mention it at the very end of the video. Next one is 28th January 2023 😎
video format was great
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! 😎
Wow absolute bargains!!!
Wasn't there just! 👀
I think your Rover Metro was a 1.4 ohc K series engine
Choppers were great. I had a Chippy, a smaller version of the Chopper without gears, I was only about 7, so a Chopper was too big for me to ride.
That's cool, bet you never thought they would be this expensive one day!
wow some cracking cars great vids lol
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed! 👌🏻

Have you came across any Toyota Toureno AE86 on your travels and if yes how much?. Loving the channel btw, I'm also a massive old school Ford Escort/Fiesta/Focus fan ❤
Can't say I have pal but ill keep my eyes peeled for you 👍🏻
@@Mk2Mitch Thanks & for the response also. I am currently learning to drive & love the idea of getting a decent old Ford motor for my first car, so I'll look forward to any future videos you post 👍
Can you tell the link who sung this wondeful world please?
