Another GrayHair here. Where were you in the 70's (Kenny Roberts 'The King' was "poetry in motion" that got me into roadracing). I understand, GP Motor Racing then took effort to find. Best Regards,
I grew up on two wheels and earned an AMA Experts license in 125cc Motocross as an 18 year HS sr. followed by a partial Road Race season on a TZ350 and I now own a pretty heavily modified S1000RR that I ride on the street. There is one particular stretch of road leading into a local mall near my house that I love to play on when the traffic flow allows. It starts with a straight that you can run up to about 175 then two sweeping S corners that you can take at about 125 mph leading to a sharp hair pin left (red light that you obviously have to catch green for everything to work). After clamping the brakes to loose speed I slide into the turn with mostly rear brake to get the front wheel pointed where I want it then accelerate hard out of the corner steering with the back tire to the pavement rise that if you hit it on the gas and still leaning you can get good air and actually a nice cross up in the air heading into a slight downhill turn. The first time I hit it just right I got lots of air and was astonished how instinctively I crossed it up and landed perfectly under control. It was the first time I ever got both tires off the ground on a street bike and it felt just like the YZ125 but on pavement. Nothing more fun than crossing up a SB in the air!
Ok…. Hands down the best motorcycle video I have ever seen! That was so well edited it’s ridiculous… and then to top it all of 2:11… This one video has got my sub!
Cadwell Park is an circuit Gray. Best and one of the toughest to ride with the Mountain jump also with the circuit set in the hillsides. There's so many blind corners and camber changes that it makes it difficult to master. Went 13 years in a row without missing a meeting. Mind blowing watching the bikes jump over the Mountain you need a big pair of gonads to take it on. Amazing footage thanks for sharing 👍
@@36kapow36 I mean they'd never let us race motorcycles on a track like that... And don't even get me started on road racing. Hell I'm surprised they still allow the cars to do it every year at Targa. Motorcycling Australia is the most risk averse motorsports governing body on the planet, but I don't entirely blame them. They're under a lot of pressure from a very subtle, yet very authoritarian culture of government in this country and a public that seems to want that from their governments. Anything that looks fun which isn't expressly permitted by the state is not happening and anything that isn't as risk controlled as is technically possible ain't getting permitted. Jumping your road bike in competition?... Forget about it.
Come to the UK and race. Josh Brookes did and won the British Superbike title twice, he even grew a few extra balls and entered the Manx TT becoming the fasted newcomer until dethroned by Peter Hickman. Bruce Anstey, a Kiwi, competed at the TT 20 times as well as the Northwest 200 and the Ulster GP.
Slow motion is awesome for a handful of shots, but you gotta balance it out with some shots of the mountain at full speed for it to really have the desired effect. Just my personal opinion. Otherwise incredible video man!
I raced at Cadwell in the 70s in karting. The mountain is really just a little hill and not difficult unless you have so much power that you take off. The Hall bends that follow seemed to be where the accidents were, with karts tangling and spinning off at speed into the woods, with at that time no barriers to prevent them.
1:13 so that’s the definition of a pro! That’s like dragging your bars in a corner in the mx world. Or dragging your levers in the dirt in a corner. 2 inches lower and he can say adios to his knee 😂😂. No clue about what this racing is called but looks really cool. Glad it’s recommended
I've seen an interview with Scott Redding, a British, World Superbike and MotoGP racer, in it he was asked what his most priced possession was. It was a helmet he managed to scrape on the tarmac while cornering without crashing of course!
I’ve done this track a few times on track days and even the guys that don’t go very quick end up with the front wheel in the air with how aggressive the jump is. Great fun!

Great video! I think Josh Brookes is definitely the man of the moment for jumping the mountain….. it’s insane how high and how far he travels!!
Amazing visuals, heinous music. Bikes sound cool enough.
This is truly stunning footage crammed into three minutes. Loved it
