Hey Jurijs....just wanted to let you know I received my Dennerle Aquarium Plant Book! There is so much information! It will really help me in the future. Thanks again!!
Cyperus helferi, combined with some smaller crypts or blyxa infront of the rocks and some dwarf hair grass as an over all carpet. Great scape btw!. Can't wait to see what you're gonna go with. :)
The tank looks awesome from both sides. Top class work 👍🏻. Your client is going to be really happy with the hardwork you've put into it. For planting I would go for a carpet of Glossostigma combined with Eleocharis parvula and some small amount of detailing by tying moss on small rocks and placing them near to the big stones. 😊
This video had me on the edge of my seat! I could feel the anxiety when the rocks were dropping 😬 very nice hardscape layout! That shadow you created with the stone on the left is great! I would definitely use dwarf hairgrass as a main carpet and maybe hairgrass up against the main stones! Mix some marsilea crenata with the dwarf hairgrass for texture! Also maybe some helanthium tenellum red up against some of the stones for some contrast 🤷♂️ either way I look forward to seeing you plant this! Those stones are awesome!
Thanks Darren, the build and recording was really emotional as I’ve been working with this rocks for the first time and lifting and placing them actually as really difficult 😅
@@JurijsJutjajevs Just a simple hair grass would be nice. I'm quite liking Eriocaulon Vietnam at the moment so maybe that could be an accent plant around the hardscape
iwagumi look so similar to the alps! or other high mountain range. or a low nutrient lake with only grass. so maybe you can get plant ideas from picture from mountain ranges how there is usually only a carpet of grass with pine trees and here and there some flowers. nice hardscape so far!
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis carpet mixed with the bigger helanthium tenellum green closer to the rocks and possibly some cryptocoryne green gecko or wendtii “green” within the rocks for more texture! Cyperus helferi on the two outer walls mixed with juncus repens, hygrophila lancea “araguaia” and possibly some cryptocoryne albida “red” layered accordingly for a bit of color and to give it a realistic, jungly effect!
When you dropped the rock I said sh*t at the exact same time 🤣 It looks fantastic, I have a new found appreciation for iwagumi having recently tried one and I did not anticipate how hard they are (at least in my opinion) I definitely think it's a style that requires real skill to get the balance right. This looks so great 👍
Thanks Rachel, iwagumis indeed look simple but are oftentimes surprisingly challenging. I guess it’s due to the nature of all hardscape remaining permanently exposed.
Really interesting, I'm personally not sure you added aesthetic value with so many small stones, quite like the 3 or 5 big stone theme with a dominant rock. But still a very interesting project and a mix of tall and short Helanthium might work well, with only at most 5 species of fish. Lovely set-up and as always your projects are sensible and well filmed.
Thanks William, if the tank was only visible from one side, I could have used less stones, but since it’s open from both sides, I had to use the rocks in a way they look good from both sides, which imo required the smaller extra stones to balance out the composition
I suggest monte carlo, hairgrass, and microswords combination on the ground then Few stem of giant hairgrass/eleocharis vivipara at the back of the stones....
To mirror late Amano Sensei's previous aquascape on his hometown gallery...classic iwagumi should be nicer, if ever you decided to follow my suggestion, kindly mention my name...Good Luck...
Hi, it’s coming out really nice, a question: why that warning about volcano mineral? Could it be harmful in some way or create some kind of issues? Thank you for your work!
Ah yeah, I guess I digressed and forgot what I initially wanted to say 😂 first of all, it’s not harmful. The warning was regarding the use of it in small aquariums. It’s simply not necessary and can be skipped. I would rather provide plants as much soil as possible, which will pay off long term, rather than saving by replacing soil with volcano. Hope this makes sense.
While you poured in the first bag of soil and bumped the stone gave me a fright. Then when the other one leaned on the glass ang gave a loud bang. Gave me a mini heart attack! Hahahaha! But this is an awesome layout. Kudos to you with doing all the heavy lifting all alone. Cant wait for the planting session and hopefully an update after a few weeks.
If i would plant this tank i'd only use MMC or HCC, maby something long on the side next to the filteroutflow that can grow to the top and swim on the surface. like Valisneria or somethin like that
Meines Wissens nicht, auch konnte ich bisher nichts messen. Da der soil aber noch frisch ist und die Werte ebenfalls beeinflussen kann, kann ich erst in ein paar Monaten mit Sicherheit sagen
Amazing layout! Those wild rhino stones are beautiful! I would plant it with hairgrass only!
Simple, but effective yes 🙌 thanks for watching MJ
Classic mix between eleocharis and Monte Carlo for carpeting.
I like this combo
beautiful layout. waiting for next video.:)
Loved it man, wow, the layout is spot on!!! very strong left side in the scape..
Thanks Luis, hope you are well?
@@JurijsJutjajevs all is well my good friend.. :) you must come visit!
Great video and interesting storrytelling!
Looking nice Jurijs!
That stone is beautiful. Pretty impressive creating such a great layout from such a challenging scaping position
Thanks mate, I’m sure you know the best how difficult it was after removing all of my cursing 🤬 😂 thanks for the great job 👏
Great great looking rocks! Prefer hard scale with some manzanita branches no plants. Again beautiful rocks!
Awesome job Jurijs!!! A workout just to add and adjust hardscape! 👍🏻💪🏻Love the hardscape look!
Thanks Mike, I probably should have used an assistant.. haven’t realized how heavy the rocks are until I started placing them inside the tank

I like them 😉

Blyxa I haven’t thought about, would be a great choice
Can‘t wait for the look in a few weeks!
Definitely glossostigma with a hairgrass of sorts for texture. Beautiful hardscape brotha, Adam did an amazing job picking the stones!
Adam keeps teasing me with some behind the scenes pictures of his stock ever since 😂

FISHtastic!
Thanks a lot for the video. In this tank, Eleocharis Pusilla, Eleocharis Acicularis, Eleocharis Vivipara and a few Eriocolon Cinereum or Polaris

Love the layout! i think some grassy plants would be lovely :)
Thanks Jordan. Grassy plants are an obvious choice, which ones would you choose? 😉

I like the plant choice a lot
Definitely Eleocharis Acicularis
UG would be perfect!
😂 everyone wants to see me fail with UG and I feel hesitant for a reason…
elatine or UG would do wonders. the bright green will pop against thr greyish wild rhino!
That’s true, both plants however are a little bit tricky, and for customer tanks I prefer safe solutions 😉

I'll plant Hairgrass Japan with large Hairgrass, Rotala Wallichi in background, reineckii mini, Bucephalandra, Anubias Nana Petit beside rocks

Lilaeopsis, glossostigma and some cyperus helferi would look good in this tank.
That’s a nice trio 👏
Can you use Cryptocoryne Parva mini for carpet?
Sure it’s possible. But you’ll need a larger quantity to begin with as it grows very slow
Eleocharis Vivipara + Eleocharis mini + Marsilea crenata + M. Hirsuta
Is there any reason you only put filter/scaper bag under the first rock but rest of the stones you didn't use them ?
I only had 1 bag 😅

Valisneria is like bamboo, keeping it in one location is mission impossible
@@JurijsJutjajevs yes i know, XD i had this problem in my first tank, therefor "or something like that".
Cyperus helferi is a beautiful alternative
Watching the rock being place precariously into the soil gave me high blood pressure
How much ft your tank
150см
A crazy suggestion: crypto parva...
Actually not that crazy, this would make a maintenance free carpet
@@JurijsJutjajevs not crazy at all, perfect dark green color, and a nice contrast to the Stone. :)
utricularia graminifolia
I will try at a different time 🙃
