    I make mostly rap/hip hop and rnb and I don’t really listen to metal but this blows my mind. I find the complexity of this genre very interesting and how you compose it in fl so effortlessly. It’s really dope

    If there is a video for people to learn how to make metal music in general (not necessarily in FL Studio) this is the video they need. There are so many little things in here that you thankfully pointed out right at the start that took me a few hours each of confusion to research and figure out how to fix when I started. Kudos

    • @RaneMusic
      @RaneMusic  Рік тому +2

      That would make it sound wider for sure, but it would sound weird, like it's out of phase (because it is xD) It's hard to describe what it wound sounds like, but it won't sound right, that's for sure...
      It probably would also cause problems when you're listening to the song on a mono-system.

    Watched the whole thing and there is a lot to learn from. A lot of basic. One might discuss the song, the plugins and so on. But I just love going with the flow and learn from it.

    • @RaneMusic
      @RaneMusic  Рік тому +2

      It takes a loooot of time to make a programmed vat guitar sound realistic. And imo coming up with riffs takes longer than just actually playing them.
      If you are into rock/metal I highly suggest buying a real guitar at some point.
      And while it takes some time to practice, it's in my opinion 100% worth it

    Is NadIR better than fl convolver in your opinion? And do you prefer using IR's over something like guitar rig, or would you use both (if you have it haha)

    • @RaneMusic
      @RaneMusic  Рік тому

      I honestly had to look up what the FL Convolver is, cause I have never used it 😅
      But from what I hear, it's using a similar process, (if not the same) to get the signal to sound how you want it to sound.
      So I'm pretty sure you can use either or, and you'll be fine.
      I had used plugins like Guitar rig before, but sometimes I just can't get the sound I want, while with IRs I feel like I can do more.
      So yeah, personally, I prefer IRs over Guitar Rig :)

      For a lot of instruments it will probably not sound bad at all.

      Especially in Metalcore the drums can totally change what the riffs sound like, so I'd always keep that in mind and play around with that.
      Best tipp i can give is, listen to songs you really like that go toward the direction of music you'd want to make and analyze the riffs. Maybe you'll find a thing or two the riffs have in common and then you can put those elements in your own riffs :)

    • @RaneMusic
      @RaneMusic  3 місяці тому

      @@Nebulaee13 for me, coming up with new songs is the easiest when:
      1. I hear a cool song and think "I wanna do something like that" and try to copy a handful of elements or try to write something with a similar vibe
      2: I already hear a song in my head and I just have to figure out how to actually play it on guitar and turn it into a real thing. To make sure I don't forget my idea I usually hum or sing the melody or the riff into my phone
      3: When I don't have any ideas and have to "force" myself into writing, I usually start with questioning myself... What vibe do I want this song to have, do I want it fast and aggressive or slow and groovy, does it have to be metal or is it going to be like pop rock, and more questions like that to pin down what I'm even trying to achieve... Because once you know that you can start thinking about how to make that happen
