Thank you so much for this video!! I have wide spread melasma that I have been dealing with for 6 years and am currently seeing a dermatologist for and I even learned something I didn't know, like progesterone being a factor?? My obgyn switched my bc to that at the time I came down with this. I never would've put that together until I saw your video! So again, THANK YOU ❤

Watching several melasma videos and a dermatologist stated if you have melasma on your cheeks avoid aviator sun glasses and metal frames.

Hi there great input video. My question to you is how long did it take for the triluma to clear your melasma and how long did you use it. And if your face is already cleared up what regimen do you use to maintain the melasma off appreciate a response thank you God bless.

The chemical vs mineral onlu seems to apply to US based sunscreens. Europe and some Asian countries like South Korea have much better more advanced filters that seem to do better than US filters

Liked and subscribe. Thank you Karina for posting this video. This is the most informative video on Melasma on youtube ever! I watched every video with Melasma subject, but your video is the real deal. Your doctor is amazing. She is very thorough, I wish I am closer to her, I'm from California. I have Melasma about 4 years, still under treatment approximately six months now. In my case, it isn't generic, or birth control pills, I was never on any meds. I got Melasma because of the heat and sun exposure. I used a lot of heat because I'm always cold. My doctor advised me to stay cooI. It's very hard. I'm using Tri-Luma for a month now, my cheeks always red from the cream...looks awful. I'm currently using Skinceuticals product, discoloration defense, triple lipid restore, and tinted sunscreen. Going to order EltaMD sunscreen, it seems to have little more of zinc oxide than skinceuticals sunscreen. Will also try your other Melasma treatment product from your blog.

Thank you so much for this sweet comment! I totally feel your pain, my cheeks were pretty red from tri-luma too. And super sensitive as well. I have a feeling you'll really like the EltaMD sunscreen. I won't switch for anything else, especially since it's a great price point! I wonder if my doctor can send you a compound, feel free to reach out to them through their office :)
      All the best!! Xx

Are high frequency machines, the kind that are in acne facials that zap your acne spots, bad for melasma? Thank you!

Omg! I’m so confused! I tried Tri luma years ago and it made my melasma worse darker and it spread over my face! So I was told that it was because of the bcp I was taking, so my dr switched my bcp’s from estrogen to progesterone bcp’s and no improvement at all. I’m so discouraged. I don’t know where to start or what to believe anymore. There is so much information out there! Please help!!!!

Thanks for the information. Just one little concern..... The doctor in the video seems very knowledgable, however at one point she advices the cream with vitamin C in the morning, and i have read in several places that vitamin C during the day is actually not a good idea because with the sunlight it may actually contribute to do dark pigmentation. Vitamin C should only be applied at night (from what i;ve read)

    • @KarinaStyleDiaries

I'm not sure where you got your info at. All doctors and estheticians I've spoken with recommend it for during the day under sunblock!

    Hi.
I have melasma in almost exactly the same spots. Ive used triluma and it went away but came back..
Ive been using the CE Ferulic and it honestly has a hot dog scent. Lol.
I also have the Brightener as well and the texture of my skin has really improved but my patches have gotten a bit lighter but not much. I have also had pico laser and nothing still there.. so frustrating. I am desperate for a cure.
